The K20 is transversely mounted to fit in a front wheel drive integra originally. How does that motor and configuration work in a rear wheel drive lotus? Can anyone tell me how this conversion is done?

@kingcrumpet , it's simple the lotus has a midrange motor mount like a toyota mr2. Take the stock motor out and put in a K20R motor and all you have to do is fabricate the mounts and make sure the axle and wheels line up so that the FWD motor can be placed in the rear position of the lotus just like the stock motor would be. Thus making the k20 able to power the lotus since the motor sits in the back. And yes the lotus is rear wheel drive.

Le Z06 avec le titane le carter sec et tout le toutim c'est du race à 100% mais aucune caisse de série à moins de 250000 e n' en as ( hormis le ZR1 éhé) mais ne pas dire que le C6 n'a pas de chassis, le cab 6.2 est meme super rigide. A 30000e 15000km qui dit mieux ???

The difference between great drivers and ones better than that are techniques which are hard to notice. For example, driving very close to the apex when someone else goes 1 foot away. Small difference, but its hard to do it.
Good lord. LOTUS really need to put 300+ horsepower engines in their Elise. They'd sell like hot cakes. That much corning capability plus such a light weight and good looking car plus a 300 horse power engine would equal one of the greatest cars ever made. Hell, I'd rather have a LOTUS with 300+ horse power than most other super cars. They would be a blast to drive and quicker than hell. GET ON IT LOTUS! no it is not at all the Lotus's chassis is consented the best you can get right now. I think the K20A is a much better motor, and should have been used by the factory.

examples would be: mitsubishi VR4 motor being used in the Dodge Stealth. another would be the Mitsubishi eclipse/EVO motor in the eagle talon. and the list goes on...
To add to what you said about american companies using japanese motors, my first car was a 89 mercury tracer hatch and it used a mazda engine.. lol. VERY reliable.
its funny when domestics say that honda motors suck.. japan motors are far more effecient and saves more gas then big american engines and can still keep up to speed.. they dont need a v8 to get the same speed then they could for a 4 cylinder.. in my opinion they are ahead of their times and the technology is greater than american engines.. imagine if japan made more of v8-10 then they will surpass american cars..

To be technical, Japanese-spec engines are like more efficient Italian engines: high-RPM monsters that develop their torque only near their redline. American engines, OTOH, have that nice fat power band that no other engine matches...
Thus, Japanese engines do very well in naturally light cars, because the amount of torque (while diminutive) is more than sufficient for the car's weight. Look at the Ariel Atom, for example...

yeah a 1.9 in an Elise if you use the 1zz block. If a K series is in there you can easily with a K24 with a K20 and over bore it to 2.6L

I've really begun loving japanese engine designs and japanese engineering.
This one obiously has a compressor driven directly (mechanically) by the engine - that's why there's no turbo hole.
That would be my favourite project to start soon.
Great engines for matching with Lotus chassis can probably also be obtained somehow maybe through Ariel Motor Co. UK.
They put a tuned Civic Type R Engine (with aftermarket compressor) into their very own lightweight chassis.

its funny when domestics say that honda motors suck.. japan motors are far more effecient and saves more gas then big american engines and can still keep up to speed.. they dont need a v8 to get the same speed then they could for a 4 cylinder.. in my opinion they are ahead of their times and the technology is greater than american engines.. imagine if japan made more of v8-10 then they will surpass american cars..

To be technical, Japanese-spec engines are like more efficient Italian engines: high-RPM monsters that develop their torque only near their redline. American engines, OTOH, have that nice fat power band that no other engine matches...

Thus, Japanese engines do very well in naturally light cars, because the amount of torque (while diminutive) is more than sufficient for the car's weight. Look at the Ariel Atom, for example...

I do agree but it depends on what your looking at, I'm talking about racing or speed and as you said they can acheive the same speed as v8s buuuut it takes longer so when your looking at a quarter mile more displacement is gonna make you get up to speed faster and i mean engines without forced induction.
