nice guitar mate, i have the same set up. im thinking of including a Line6 HD500 in my effects chain because I dont like to pedal dance. Have you tried the HD500 through the dual rec and if so, what did you think of it?
@dan95brantner the head I bought new for $1800 and the cab used for $550 I think. Got this whole setup for sale fyi! I have added a few things not in this video that make it the perfect rig!
Sry man, but your guitar is really ugly one. And if you can play only on this level, you better quit it. This is SOUND TEST, don't you think that it would be more playing and less talking?
In the video I just used the Mesa footswitch. I now use a midimate pedal thru a mini amp gizmo. The mini amp gizmo changes my amp channels simultaniously with the G major patches.
great set up man, i was curious how hard is it to carry that rack around? I am thinking of redoing my rig, cant decide if i should get a rack set up like you have or just stick with pedal board into the amp.
Its really just preference... I prefer the growling tone of the Dual over the MV, however both are great amps. I was fortunate enough to be able to play them back to back. The MV has a bit more versitilty but the flavor of the Dual Rec matched the tone I was after and my playing style. Cant go wrong with either one tho!
@LambOfGod4Life888 Dude i'm a huge fan of the mark series of amps in my opinion they blow rec's out of the water. unlike the rectifier the mark v has much more versatility any tone you want is pretty much possible
I love this!, in fact this is what I'm going for: mesa dual recto ..same cab with celestions...I have the same ec-1000 deluxe .. in see thru black cherry. sweet.
@Naizabeth I hate people like you. He plays guitar and can afford a mesa where is the problem. ah i forgott you are the world best guitarist and are the only one allowed to play mesas :D. come on if you can't afford a mesa don't be jealos on othere people. stay fair.
@gif38 : go on you seem like a nice guy and your playing improves.
@Naizabeth jst cuz he didn't go all shredder on us doesn't mean he can't play, it just means he is showing what he likes to play and he is giving us a sound example of the amp, for mesas its probably better to just chug and play more simple stuff like that so you can hear the quality of the amp, this proves nothing of his skills...
I use the normal sized Mesa 4x12s, the have a more focused bass response. Mind sharing your settings for that channel? I'm always looking for some new sound ideas!!!
ugh i envy ur setup! Im saving up for a used rectifier from guitar center for about 1,200 and then an old used cab too ugh i only have like 400 bucks so far but not bad from only 2 months of saving for a 15 y/o right?! Nice demo man thx
...Don't you use an overdrive pedal before the Dual? Have the same 2010 model but never reach the tone you have, I think it's the EMGs that suit the rectifier best!!!Vacuum or Silicon?
Nope, no pedals in my rig! In this vid im using the tube tracking but I go back and forth. emg's are great but I like the passives as well. What cab you playing thru?
Could you perhaps do a more in-depth review of the 2010 Rectifier? A lot of people have been curious to how much Mesa has improved the tone over the last models. Congrats on the gear, btw. Sounds great. :)
The Peavey was great. Its just I love the tone of Mesa. They are equally versitile but 2 different animals when it comes to tone. The Mesa does have more flexibility with tonal adjustments but it comes down to the sound you want. I would have liked to keep it but funds wouldnt allow.
Ur right, that is a nice Mayza.

gif38 1 year ago 33
@Naizabeth You don't have to be John Petrucci to play a Mesa Boogie, you don't need a licence for it.
If gif38 works and saved money for this rig or his parents are wealthy and can afford it, let him play shit with a Mesa.

I have and use both a Recto oversize cab and a Traditional cab. Each have 2) V30's and 2) BlackShadows. Makes for a killer tone and low end!
My settings were mostly at noon, bass on about 6 or 7.

What is it the Mesa does, the Peavey didnt do for you? Just the sound, or is it a matter of functionality/versatility as well?
