Great snare sound... I got a pearl vinnie paul snare which has the same sizes of yours...And the shell has 6 plies of maple. What heads do you use and how do you tune it?
@memphisdrumshop Stock drumheads usually sound like shit. I would replace the top with a coated Remo Emperor X and a Diplomat Extra Thin on the snare side, Tune the top head around the head about five times then tune the bottom to about three. You get both a high tone and medium tone.

They are stock heads. The snare side is tight and the batter side is moderately tight.
