Does anyone have the ID's (at 7 seconds into the vid). Begins with "you can see...", and "Were with you 7", and "Hello Perth". Also, what was the song at the very beginning?
Then again, this could have aired from late 1988. Around this time, Qintex bought TVW-7 in Perth and TVW owned SAS-7 in Adelaide, and this was probably aired to reassure Perth viewers, while TVW was owned by a east coast based company, it would keep it's commitment to the WA community (e.g Telethon) paramount.
@kuttsywood That seems spot on..a line like "Channel Seven's future is in Perth...with you" would definitely fit some scenario like that...longtime local-owned station falls to media conglomerate. Even though I'm not Australian, television themes and motifs tend to travel..."Hello News" is a prime example (commissioned 1977 by a Wisconsin TV station, hit its heyday in the 1980s, even saw use in Canada - a package from the same company (Turn To News) wound up on SAS-10 and TVQ-0 as well!)
Yeah, I do remember the "Love you Perth" campaigns on 7 when I was in Perth in late 1985 and early 1986. I also remember at the time there was no channel 10 in Perth.
Interesting. I would say this was probably screened around the time NEW-10 launched (to show off its newly gained 7 affiliation to prospective viewers.)
Arrrrrrrr yes when Perth was still a country town .......... wait it still is.

Was this TVW7's 40th birthday?
promopal 3 years ago
closer to 30th
going by the logo and what buildings are present/absent in the skyline towards the end, I'd say kuttyswood's comments below are probably spot on

1989 was also TVW 7's 30th Birthday.
The station FIRST went to air on Sunday October 16, 1959.
Might have been a 30th Birthay ID on the eve of the change of logo.
I didn't know that Perth used both the "Love You" and "Hello" campaigns.
Thanks for posting !!

Rick looks almost the same but Susannah looks completely different.
You are definetly right I reckon kuttsywood as it is the 1989 theme in the background (NEW started in May 1988)
trisr 3 years ago
The theme is actually the 1988 theme (Let's celebrate '88) and was used up until logo change in January 1989.
digitaldanmartin 3 years ago
I was referring to the earlier one of 1989, as shown in the 1989 closedown from Melbourne, I should have clarified that!
trisr 3 years ago
That was an instrumental version of the 1988 theme.
