This was very cool to listen to Stuart. Can relate to the bong loads, however now I use a vaporizer called the volcano - you only get the good stuff, no nasty tar or smoke, just pure THC. Thanks for sharing this good music with us. Peace,...Mark
wow, i love the tone of those guitars. freakin awesome. it sounds really cool on cassette, gives it that vintage feel. also, great idea for a video. it doesnt distract from the music, its like im in the room with the tape player listening to the music.
Nice work! During the 1980s I had a Tascam 4-track cassette records and I can relate to your scorpion story... only for me it happened in Death Valley!
Thanx. Haha . . .I can still remember seeing something scuttling away under a rock as I went to lay down my bed-roll. Death Valley, eh? I guess that means snakes, as well. Yeuk!
I like this very much Stu... You should get some current stuff up man, you are very talented, duh... :o) I had a 4-track Fostex as well. We seem to have had similar taste in recoding equipment :o) Later, -Ron
Oh, this takes me back to when I got to play FOR FUN! Very cool. The sounds are like a trip back to your old bedroom, when everything is quaint and familiar, much smaller than you remember it, and yet you loved it then and you wonder where the time went. That's what these sounds do for me. I love this, Stuart, give us more!!!
Wow . .thanks for the great comment Jeff. It's great that it conjures up a sound picture for you - it does for me. Yeah, it was a small bedroom, but on the ground floor with patio doors opening onto a beautiful green oasis of a garden with a huge apple tree, with the most beautiful blossom in the spring. Much later it became my daughter's first bedroom . . and our cat had kittens in there, too! Must've been something about it. Happy days indeed.
I sat listening to this song very intrigued the whole way through. It was so unpredictable in every area, around each corner of the song was a new thought, a new emotion. And now all I can do is sit and think about it, and wonder...
The beginning and end where you put the tape in and took it out, as simple as it was, I thought it was a genius idea :)
Say hello to a new subber :) can't wait to hear more of your stuff mate.
Hey, Stewze, thanks for your kind words. It was just a bedroom tape to me until Duckscli ended a message with 'Peace' and I went back and had another listen. Suddenly, I was in my tent at a Festival - dreamily listening to the last band of the evening, before turning in for the night. Strange what a single word can do!
I've got family in Perth and a good mate in Broome, so It's great to hook up with Australian channels - stops me from missing them all so much.
This is amazing.

Did you record this with a Fostex X15?
maurits2 3 years ago
yep . .and it's still working fine. I just played the tape on a normal tape deck and recorded it using the videocam's condenser mike.
You can see the Fostex, in action, in my video " Chinese Whispers", which was recorded using the same machine. :)

Very nice. I like how the it progresses unperceptively, until you finally realized that things have transitioned a lot. Good job!

Thanks very much, Ron. Yeah, I will post some current stuff but it's more likely to just be me banging away on a guitar & trying to sing! :P
