Our media is controlled by corporations and advertising dollars. In order to be successful, there has to be sensationalism and media bias! Dr. Levinson makes a good about the FCC. I believe the FCC goes back to the Radio Control Act of 1927. When you look at its genesis, it was designed purely to suppress political dissent. Before then, the free market was handling the allocation of the airwaves just fine, by applying the homesteading principle to the airwaves in the courts.

Actually, I don't like the way Jesse Ventura discounts the internet like that. Certainly freedom allows for people to be wrong, but that is how you do get the truth, too. You will find more truth on the internet because it is open than in the MSM. So his criticism is unfair. The last thing we need are "licensing" bodies and "credentialing" systems in order to be counted as a "legitimate" reporter. That is how freedom and the truth get usurped.

He isn't very sharp on his feet as an interviewer here. I don't think this guy really had much to debate with Ventura either - he almost agreed with him, but was just presenting the realistic facts. Ventura is better when he's being attacked, that's when his debating skills shine. Good defensive player.
