  • really good

  • Katherine sings this so sweetly..! ..unplugged is super sweet.....when I hear it, it makes me think of one person... my extra spcial lady... my "honey bee" my love.. my soul mate.. I love you teddy bear.. (honey bee).!!

  • doesn't hold a candle to kara dioguardi sitting in her house with the co-writer of the song, just singing it acoustic. it's lost something in the translation. less joy??? i can't quite put my finger on it, but definitely less emotion.

  • addicted to terrified, i have listened to it for 400 times...

  • this is the style that always though suit perfect for her...not the style of her first CD...Good job katharine..keeping in this line...no matter what happeng whit the sales, you will be recognizer.

  • What a voice!

  • i really like this song. and katherine did a really good job with it:)

  • @bennbed that's just stupid. it goes kara/jason>katharine McPhee>that stupid didi girl

  • simply the BEST

  • it's much better acoustic than on the cd... i love this song <3

  • DIDI has the best version!

  • I love this song, and I did an acoustic cover of it, please watch it!!

  • Unplugged version is amazing

  • I like Kara singing this better than Didi or Katherine. I think Kara should start keeping the great songs she writes for herself .. she's majorly talented.

  • Didi's version is so much better...not a kat fan....also, i wasn't a fan of Kara until i found some videos of her singing...she is talented and I love her voice.

  • This is so much better than the over produced CD version. She has a great voice. The instruments just blaaahhhing all over.

  • I agree. It's much better acoustic. The full band kind of ruins it.

  • doesnt matter who sings it better..i love didi singing this song and that doesnt change the fact that iam a big fan of katherine mcphee! theyre both amazing and pretty..

  • Kat has an outstanding studio voice but for this type of song I think Didi's voice evokes more emotion. Either way, great song.

  • and this isn't even a studio recording! :D

  • whoa dude. got enough advertismests?

  • It's not like I'm covering a video, lol. May as well use the extra space.

  • Kat is singing Terrified tonite, March 12, on Jay Leno. Watch the show for an amazing performance!!!

  • i love kat so she's the best!

  • GUYZ DIDI needs to beat the original... what's the sense of singing the song if she can't surpass the original??? come on guys! dont play stupid!

Katharine is the original and anyone who wants to sing it should do it better than the original... or else... she has to be humiliated for copying and be like a shadow.. did you get what i mean?

  • THEN... stop telling about who's best okay?

Kath's rendition is very nice so as Didi, for she needs to... PERIOD!

  • @jexter22

I agree! Katherine is perfection with this song!

  • @jexter22: I agree. Katherine is the original and best performance. I listened to Didi's and Kara's performance and I prefer Katherine. Kara may have written the song but I still prefer Katherine. Just my opinion.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Still think this is the BEST! Sorry I do not have SAPPY ears but I could think of things that you have that are SAPPY!!! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is that KAT IS THE BEST !!!!!!

  • i rly like how you put all the bubbles for the other songs in the beginning...thx

  • Didi's was better. her voice is more organic and goes perferct with the acoustic guitar

  • Absolutely the BEST VERSION after listening to over 200 others sing this! This is LIVE people!! Unplugged!

  • This wasn't in a studio. It was in a normal room with an audience. Don't make excuses for didi. Katharine just has better vocals.

  • @nothlithawk777 this is "better vocals"? Lol.

  • no anywhere i can download this??

  • The unplugged version?

  • where can i download the unplugged version ?

  • this version is the best.

  • Kat is the best! Go, Kat!!!

  • is this the song that kara dioguardi n her friend made??? wow

  • yes..and her friend is jason reeves! look him up he is AMAZING!

  • look DiDi Benami's Version More Good!

  • i liked her singing better too...

    but this is also nyc!

  • the melody is so melancholic.

  • Love Kat's version of this song!!

  • she isnt my favorite,

but i love the sond, kara and jason did a great job!

  • So beautiful<3 I like Kat's old look better though

  • this is much more gorgeous. :)

  • This song was meant to be acoustic. Katherine's other version is not as good as this one. Didi did a good job, but Katherine's version is just as good.

  • Projects meaning concert tours starting next month. :)

  • I understand Kat's new cd only sold 15,000 copies during it's first week. How's that possible? As far as I'm concerned, it's platinum quality.

  • It was released January 5th, the worst sales week of the year by far. She's doing more promotion and has some projects coming up.

  • @gop4usa12 (Kat McPhee vs sales, part 1).

Lack of advertisement (plus what happened with her first album) is my guess. I did not even know about her new release until a couple weeks ago.

She was my absolute favorite during season 5, but after sampling her 1st album, I wasn't thrilled. I did not buy her 1st album, and didn't feel like supporting her if that was the direction she wanted to take her career. It was not the type of music that suited her at all.

  • @gop4usa12 (Kat McPhee vs sales, part 2).

She is a ballad singer, and that is where her strengths is/are.

Her second album is miles ahead. I will be buying this album to show her support. I would like to see her sing songs like "The Prayer," "Hitman," "I've Got You Under My Skin," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "Since I fell for you," "I Have Nothing," "My Destiny."

These are the type of songs that made me fall in love with Katherine McPhee's singing.

  • @strawberryshort99

I'm with you all the way on that, except I didn't buy her first cd. She definitely has the voice for singing love songs. And these aren't the cheesy kind either. These are the kind of songs that project what's real. So good for her doing "Unbroken" and let's hope she stays on track. Crossing over to country could be good for her too.

  • Isnt this the BEST SONG YOU ROCK AT RIGHTING SONGS KARA AND YOU ROCK AT SINGING AND KATHRINE MCPHEE OH WHERE TO I BEGIN YOU ARE JUST AMAZING!!!!! YOU GUYS SHOULD BOTH DO A SONG TOGETHER KINDA LIKE A DOUET I DONT KNOW IFI SPELLED IT RIGHT THOUGH LOL BUT ANYWAY YOU SHOULD!!!!

  • What a great live version of Terrified!!! Way better than the others!

  • As usual, Kat's vocals are awesome!

  • great song

  • awesome, just plain awesome

  • hello? dolly parton wrote "i will always love you". don't tell me you like her version better than whitney houston's!

  • I really feel touched by this song. I've listening Katharine's last album over and over again and it's amazing how much she has grown up, all the songs has the same style and alll are really good. I fell proud for Kath, and I can't wait for her next album :D

  • If you like Terrified, look up LIFETIME on Katharine's album, Unbroken! I bought both on iTunes!

  • Sounds awesome! My heart is in motion.

  • Favourite song from the album! Love it! Didi's version is great too. I think that it speaks highly of the song and the song-writer that no matter who sings it, it just stands out cos its too good :)

  • i think mcphee is a lil better than kara

  • Katharine McPhee album called Unbroken is sooooooo awesome!

  • raulalalarcon, GOOD POST!

  • DIDI rocks. But I think Lea Michele would've been able to do better!

  • i love kara's and didi's version better. but katherine has a great voice too

  • This song is great. It's only 99 cents on iTunes!

  • I like Didi and she sang this song amazingly !!

  • I love it when Didi sang it!

But all three versions were great. Kara is an awesome song-writer.

  • I like both Didi's and Kat's version. Both are really good. :)

  • I love Katharine Mcphee, she is really pure and she knows how to come across the message of the song. By the way, I have to congrat Kara, this song is amazing. A lot of people is talking about Didi's version which I loves too. But Katharine is Katharine and Didi is Didi, each one has her own style, personally I think Kath's vocals are better(due to experiencie) but I really felt touched when Didi performed, that girl know how make you feel the song, Love boths!!!

  • Didi kills them both!

  • @wilburj518

I think both versions are good in their own ways.

People should give Katharine credit, I think she sings this song well. Sorry, I just had to point this out because I've seen too many people saying "Didi's version is better!" etc.

Honestly speaking, I liked Didi's version a lot because she portrayed a lot of emotion but her voice was very shaky throughout.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • Katharine's Unbroken album is sooo awesome. An album truly worth listening over and over again!

  • Totally agree

  • Kara > Katharine. definately. but she does have some raw talent :D

  • I totally agree! They are both great, but kara just sings this better.

  • Love Kat;s version and apparently her friend Kara new Kat would was the best perform it. otherwise Kara would have selected someone else

  • Katharine McPhee is the real deal! She is amazing!!! The best! Her new album UNBROKEN came out January 5th. Go buy this song on iTunes!

    THIS SONG IS ON ITUNES!

  • i must say,

    kara's version is must betttter.

  • Kat just does not do justice to this.

  • I love this version. Kat and a guitar player is the ultimate version of Terrified for me. Don't need Jason's bleating in there.

  • Kat sang this with emotion. Hopefully her next single.

Thanks to Didi Kat's version of Terrified received a significant sales bump on Itunes.

  • Kat'soooooooooooo much better! You cant compare!!

Kara gave the song to Kat for a reason... think about it ;)

  • @ramii07 Yea because nobody discovered Didi yet you fool. Katy has Didi to thank since this single has sky rocketed on Itunes the past 2 days. Nobody even heard of this song until Tuesday.

  • @DonRonter Yeah! And me, being a Kat fan I thank Didi also! Because the song is doing good! But people come here and say like its not a katharine mcphee song. and it is!

For eg. Kara wrote Taking Chances and nobody is saying its not a Celine Dion song!

  • Which is funny because I consider Taking Chances Kara's song because she recorded it with Platinum Weird. Key weird being "recorded." Katharine is the only person who has recorded Terrified. She is the only person who will release it. The song will be associated with her name once she does release it.

  • you are damn right! :>

  • anyone have the tab?

  • didi did a good job but i like this version more.

  • Kat pawns Terrified!!!! No ifs and buts about it!!!!

  • Of course Katharine Mcphee has the best version, she's the best singer!

  • Didi did a nice job with Terrified but I still like Kat version.

  • Beautiful song [;

  • It's a great song. As for as interpretation/performance goes, my preference in this order:

    1) Didi

    2) Jason Reeves & Kara Dio. (It's here on youtube)

    3) Kat McP (though if it's her version that will be on the radio, I wouldn't change the station, it's good)

  • this version is easily the best. i love this song!

  • I wish Didi would do a full version. Dx>

Her version was sounded really pretty.

  • This version is THE BEST!! Amazing!

Kat has talent, vocals, and everything to make this song justice!

    Love this!

  • this is by far my favorite version of this song i am off to buy it on itunes as we speak

  • didi did awesome i think i like her better

  • Great version, but I hate the way she ssings the word "first" in this song.

  • This version melts your heart like butter.

    Didi's version moves your heart.

But nobody can't touch Kara's version.

And don't compare Kat and Didi's versions

unless we see Kat doing the acoustic by

    herself live.

  • This version that I've uploaded is acoustic live, as our many other performances Kat has done of this song. Kat just sounds so pure and beautiful that it SEEMS recorded, but nope...she just has skills like that.

  • There is no matter of comparison. The deal is, this is Terrified, by Katharine McPhee :)

  • Didi sings it 100x better. There is no truth in Katherine's voice-- not believable. Didi's voice is raw, believable and pulls at your heartstings.

  • Listen to the way Katharine sings "I'm terrified" towards the end. She has a very heart-wrenching and beautiful turn of phrase that is purer than Didi's technique, which relies more on stylizing than emotion.

  • @nothlithawk777 I'll have to respectfully disagree. I liked Didi's version more, thought it had more emotion, and it actually brought me to tears.

  • @Mallie81 IMHO, the 3 versions are completely different. For me, Didi's is the most wounded as if being in love really did scare her while Kara's was almost joyous as if it were infused with a sense of youthful invincibility - as in, I know it's scary but I'll jump bc I'm in love! I thought Kat's version was more in the middle and less "emotional" but still perfectly crafted pop. Didi channels Alison Krauss & a touch of bluegrass while Kara's version reminds her co-writer wrote 4 Colbie Caillat.

  • @h2oinplasticbottles Well I have to respectfully disagree with you.. Compare Kat's vocals with Didi's... I mean its illogical..

Ok, Didi's version may have been emotional I have to agree in that, but its because you saw her singing live with a story behind it...

  • @ramii07 It's ok, we can agree to disagree but I have to insist that Didi's backstory had little to do with my preference for her version. The backstories are actually my least favorite part of the show and when I go back to watch, I never rewatch that part & still I like her version. In addition, Simon liking the idea of her being a waitress and doing well was sort of stupid. Aren't *all* celebrities waitstaff at some point? It's cliche almost, not original. LOL.

  • @h2oinplasticbottles omg, he was reffering to Kelly Clarkson - she was a waitress :)) It was like an inside joke, I am kida surprised noone got it...

  • Look up Katharine singing it in the Fox Situation Room. I still think the merits of Didi's version relied on a stylized technique than emotion, and it is just my opinion that Katharine's live performances of the song have exhibited a more emotional connection to the song.

  • I'm stuck inbetween who i thought did a better job, Didi was amazing with it on A.Idol, it almost seemed like Kara got offended.

  • Kara and DIdi sing it better... wayy better. Still, great song!

  • I agree with everyone else - Didi on AM Idol surpassed all other versions, and Kara's knowing smile seemed to say it too!

  • I wish there was an mp3 of Didi's version. I really loved her cover.

  • Kara wrote it and Katherine sing it,you should go to the video where Kara sing together with Jason Reeves ..hope that helps..

  • You should add "live and unplugged" to prevent confusion in this..=)

    its a great song anyway!!

  • she did the title is Katharine McPhee - "Terrified" (kara dioguardi) - Unplugged Live

  • didi pwns this song

  • Didi did a nice job..but Kat's version is awesome.

  • The girl Didi said this song was by Kara. Kara wrote it, but this is KATHARINE MCPHEE'S song! Go buy it on iTunes!

  • If Kara wrote it then it's by Kara and it's Kara's song. =P

  • @ebonyil22 No cause when sings an artist's song they refer to the artist, not the songwriter. Didi was only trying to pander to Kara, which is a little cheap.

  • @yolandaq

but Didi sang really well though.

  • um... no? if kara wrote (for example) Christina Aguilera's The voice within a contestant will say i'm singing the voice within by kara dioguardi? yeah i don't think so..

  • It would be both Katharine and Kara's song. Didi did do an amazing job, but Katharine sang it best.

  • I like Didi's better. But everyone has their own opinion =)

  • @qg6ff i think they should leave it to Didi, omg, she's done such an amazing job with this song, you know. This is a perfect adept for this years coronation song, I reckon :D

  • Kat is awesome!! Kat sung this live !!!

  • haha this songs gonna get so popular just from american idol

  • This song is beautiful... hate to say it, but i liked the girl on American Idol's spin on it more (think her name was Didi) from earlier tonight! But, beautiful none the less.

  • @sassy. i agree...i liked the Idol version better, but not that this version is bad or anything. hadn't head of this song otherwise!

  • @sassyslh23 I agree!

  • Great great song!!

  • this is an amazing song

  • awesome song!

  • I luv dis song i heard it on american idol the girl who sang it was really good

  • she was amazing. my new favorite. (:

  • I love this girl and kara.

  • good song. just heard it on American idol.

  • Katherine. I miss her, I haven't listened to her music in so long. <3

Her voice is just amazing. (:

  • i luv this version

this is a great song i luv the lyrics

  • The first time I heard this song I didn't really like it too much. Then I heard a few more times and I really started to catch on to it. :) Haha isn't that weird how songs work sometimes? lol. This new genre Katharine is taking on is real nice and sometimes soothing, but I think her old genre from her 1st album was catchier and more upbeat. Both genres do fit her, but I like her old genre a little more than her new genre. Idk y though. :)

  • i LOVE the new Katharine!

  • Kara is good, but I don't think she sings the song better. I think Katharine sounds sweeter and more melodious. Kara sounds a little 'screamy'... Katharine is a better singer. Her voice is more polished.

In my opinion, Kara is better off as a songwriter than a singer.

  • I disagree, there both very good singers. Heres the thing Katharine is a mezzo-soprano, shes more soothing and creamy. Kara is a Lyrical-Soprano, shes more sharp and light. They both favor in different styles. However I do-agree that Katharine's voice fits this better, but kara was un-doubtly good.
