@ecraftsmen: I wonder if the issue with cow's milk is what the American farmers/agri-business feeds the cows - with grain instead of grass. The milk of grass-fed cow's is higher in omega-3 and the meat of grass-fed cattle is leaner than grain-fed cattle. Seems to me that the milk would also be lower in fat for grass-fed cows. I would like to hear other opinions on this.
Almond milk is the best. Unless you are allergic. Also, I eat raw garlic. And I get my honey when I make a Apple cider vinegar and honey drink. A Bragg vinegar recipe.
I've been making garlic honey for about 4 years now. (For anyone reading this, it is better to cook with, although it may thin out sauces.)
But I really have to disagree with the milk thing.
Search soy at pub med or any other reputable site, and it's benefits will be backed by hard core research. And Finland has the highest per capita milk consumption in the world-- along with the world's highest rate of diabetes. Nature made milk to feed baby mammals. But, seriously, I love you...
@almayim You'll have to go to the aforementioned sites and look them up, because I don't have time to. I used to have everything written down in a notebook, but I've moved since then and lost it...along with both of my good rosemary oil recipes. Thanks for replying to this, I'd forgotten all about this channel.
@SilentHillWren maybe if i have time, i was just wondering if it was soy companies, i have noted that they have conducted and funded many tests, but not all. I've done extensive research already on the subject. I certainly don't plan to eat anything that gives me a stomach ache even if all science agrees it is good for me! Even in light of pro-soy studies, if there is also considerable evidence against it why risk damaging children's health? The over 18 recommendation is a good one.
@almayim -Well, all of the research done against AND for soy aside, I'm pretty sure this woman doesn't appreciate having trolls in her comment box. Now that I'm reading it through, you seem to have problem with what almost everyone said. You need to stay away from youtube and go to a forum if you're as opinionated as you're coming across.
@SilentHillWren lots of people have opinions, it's not unreasonable to disagree, many people are disagreeing with the videos as well, i am not commenting on everyone. I'm just offering my opinion on a few things i have particular interest in. Should i fill up the comments with 'good point' for everyone i agree with? I guess i could but usually i give people thumbs up. I'm not even sure why you believe i'm disagreeing with everyones comments if you read them all.
i tried making that garlic honey, and its been sitting for a few days now and nothing is happening. the honey isn't getting garlicy and the garlic doesn't seem to be changing at all or coming out of the peel. any advice?
@freqazoidiac i do not believe that research on food has anything to do with Zionism, should we ignore this very valuable research simply because it is not american? And oh yes, the U.S. is in fact allied with Israel, being American would therefor not be grounds for ignoring Israel. This being said i do not agree with the politics of either country, but then i'm not american.
RAW MILK! Read about it. It is a miracle food that is illegal in many states if you want to sell it. Study about the health benefits of raw milk. Pharma-cartels are behind the actions to stop people from getting the benefits of raw milk.
It's like lichen, the bacteria provides nourishment or the fungi and the fungi provides shelter and structure for the bacteria, enabling both to live in extreme environments where neither alone could live. Humans provide shelter for goats, goats provide nourishment, and yes there is enough for the baby. You keep milking the mama after the baby is weaned, or a little at the same time. The dog is also important, their good senses keep everyone safe, and they also love milk (as most animals do)
Why are humans the only 'animals' that take the breast milk of others, yet we seem to be riddled with diseases and other health problems? The Japanese traditionally did not take much milk and have lowest incidences of cancers etc. Now that they are adopting a more 'western' diet, the incidence of these diseases are rising - there's a link. Surely cow's milk is nutritionally intended for a growing calf and is too 'fatty' for us in anything other than very small amounts? Just some thoughts!
Yeah but most of the world does drink milk, and we have evolved to cope with it. Some poeple think it's why we are less petite than east asians. The problem is milk was so good, but now many cows are over-milked, fed on cerealnot grass and is homogonised and pasturised. But you still can get good milk, unpaturised organic, oh yes and whole!
@ecraftsmen ai ai ai, and ants are the only animals which milk aphids, does anyone tell them to stop? Ants and aphids have a symbiotic relationship. I don't think we know how long they have been doing it. Humans and ruminants (goats, cows, reindeer) are also symbiotic species, in my personal opinion. Dogs have the biggest reputation for being human's companions, but there is nothing stopping a 3 way symbiosis.
@ecraftsmen Lets not forget that many humans evolved to digest milk. NOT everybody, but many are lactose tolerant. And raw milk from grass eating rumenants is completely different than drinking process homogenized milk from grain fed animals..
@ChefFrankyG I disagree the humans evolved to digest milk, but I respect your opinion. As a species, we can digest it, but so can many others too. Remember that milk is a high fat food designed for calves. My issue with milk is not the product, but the selective breeding etc on cows to increase yields all the time, and the fact that calves are taken away within a day or so from birth. Have you heard a mother cow, calling for her stolen calf? Just my opinion.
I grew up on raw fresh cow's milk from our own cows. I never had goat milk until just a couple years ago, and it was raw. I thought it tasted kind of "salty" compared to cow's milk but otherwise it was basically the same. Then, I tried goat milk in a carton from the store, and it was gross! So, I would definitely recommend raw goats milk for someone who has never tried it otherwise you might get the wrong impression of it :)
@Plum369 Yes, exactly! It's so sad really. Also, many commercial goat farmers are feeding grain and hay, grazing on grass. Cows are great with grass but goats like to graze on shrubbery, though most people feed grain and hay, small scale goats often get to graze more. I've had bad raw goat milk too, the way the goat is raised & fed has a lot to do with it, some say the breed as well. I grew up on raw goat milk, i was offered raw cow milk but always though it was 'cowey', but then i tried jersey!
my mom is diabetic. Can i use agave instead of honey?

Wow, am I glad I decided to buy the corn oil instead of the vegetable oil yesterday.
The vegetable oil's ingredient was "soy bean oil".
Usually , I buy olive oil, but a little short on cash...so I had to buy it.
Instead of butter, I put oil in my cakes.

This is fascinating. My family (parents, grandparents) grew up in the mountains in Virginia, and this is something they talked about using. Cool.

@housemartin555 despite the very fertile feminine connotations of oats, i have never seen one with a breast either :)
I prefer to refer to those nut and seed concoctions as juices. This is really what they are.

@Plum369 it's traditional use was nitrogen fixing, but any legume will do that.

Funny how some vegans try to say how terrible milk is. Bottom line, raw milk is far superior to any vegetable, or grain based juice.
About garlic honey, it makes sense that it fights flus/colds. Garlic is nature's antibiotic.
