i agree with scubockie, these guys were shit cool and unfortunately for them, probably way ahead of their time! thanks for posting. anyone know what they are doing now?
here is what killed off the indigenous music scene in ireland. U2, the cranberries and boyzone and westlife oh and the corrs. but what is gas is that louis walsh of all people compalains that irish radio stations dont play enough irish music. or maybe its his records not being played. but irish stations have rotas that dont allow them to play new irish music. only chart music.
what is wrong with the irish music industry companies letting talent like this fade away, shame on island records, mcd, mother records, universal, sony or even imro. bring back the pale, frank and walters, sack, brilliant trees and an emotional fish!!??!!??proper talent
my guitar teacher was in the pale from 2000-2006. he is fucking AMAZING at playing and singing and he just wasting his talent teaching. its real sad :(
have to agree! but having danced in gorbys to this many a night in 93! Were the bands better back then, cactus world news, light a bif fire, sultans, happens etc or is it just rose tinted glasses? will the kids now think the same in 2028? will fight like apes, two door c club etc be held in the same reverence just like my sisters do with horselips, the blades etc etc
@scubockie I so agree with you. No-one realised how much talent was floating around back then, as fans we loved loved loved it all, and they never got the recognition they deserved. But this is the great thing about youtube and the internet now, because the music will not be forgotten!!!
brings back great memories of seeing them in my home town of waterford city ireland in 92,living in sweden for the last 14 yrs now and my swedish wife thinks their amazing, believe their still touring,SWEET!
I don't get it. Butterfly?? One of two things: beautiful, or butter and flies..bleh!! This song is completely unrelated??? Anyone shed some light? Or not.
Top song. They played at the xmas ball in ucd when this song was in the charts (1992 i think). The stunning & the sultans of ping fc played same gig. Excellent night. Did matt appear in the film "the snapper"?. Legends
great song!! Totally underrated songwriters!! they are brilliant and I am still a big fan!! .. and i have the same surname as the guy on the mandolin!! we're 2nd cousins!! YAY
they're still a band! someone was telling me they were on the podge & rodge show. they have a new album too but i haven't heard it. i saw them play the new single on that music show that's in irish. it was great, they still have that bajo-like instrument.
Thats the best use of a mandolin in a pop song ever. Am I right in thinking these guys were pretty big in Hungary or thereabouts?

I remember lying in bed one night, being about 14..
and being woken up a drunken friend, singing this song all the way home - about 3 miles from the local nighterie. Unique song...
