You ask, "Is the story of Noah true?" Simply put, the answer is no. The rock record, as well as the chemical makeup of just one formation clearly shows this. So, does this mean that there is not some nugget of truth in the Noah myth? Local floods are common, and early societies settled where the best farming was: On Floodplains. But a global inundation as Genesis says? Nope.
