@tjhaywood100 Personally Enterprise is the best because it has that excitement of jjtrek but its still star trek. PS You should make a video and list your fav star trek series and movies in order :D
@FalconWings9 I do have an Art Asylum NX-01 too. I should have put it in the video. But this was just my small collection of the original NCC-1701. And I may do a vid of my favorite series and movies. That's a good idea. Thanks!
Nice collection there, TJ. :) I'll keep commentary about J.J.'s Enterprise to myself, since you know me to be a bit more open about the ship design. But, I am glad to see that you did get it for your son. (Believe me, I know of some fanboyish parents who would refuse on "so called principle" and say "we do not support such rubbish in this house." SO hat's off to you for being a cool dad. :)
@martok2112 Thanks Martok. Tommy's new to Trek. I started him out on TOS, and he really likes it. But he likes JJ-Trek a little more. And that's fine. He's young. He has the JJ-Prise, phaser, communicator, tricorder, and Kirk and Spock action figures from the new movie. He's part of the generation Abrams was aiming at I think. So more power to him. I'm not going to stifle his passions :)
@jtschau Thanks! Nope, I don't have any Klingon ships. Just a few Enterprises. I also just got an F-Toys TOS Enterprise model. It's much more accurate than the Furuta model. Hopefully I can get some more ships. I'd like to get a D-7 Battlecruiser and a TOS Romulan Warbird.
I love the comments on this video against the J.J. Abrams starship enterprise. Keep up the great work of supporting the classic USS ENTERPRISE. Have a good one.
he really did mess up a good ship and I hope that they change the Enterprise back in the new movie thats coming out soon and leave jj far behind and bring back some real trek execs.
Yeah they really cheaped out on the Engineering room of the new movie. The rest of the ship looked ok. But you can't have the whole thing look like an Apple store and then film Engineering in some beer factory. It looked way too big as well.
@Kleavers I agree some what, but engineering looked like an engine room to me. I always thought TOS and TNG engineering looked WAY too small to run that ship, but thats my 2 cents take it how it is.
@Kleavers You are correct sir. The matter anti-matter needs very little room to create a release of energy that is over 1,000,000,000 times larger then any device or explosive that we know of today . . . the ability to contain that release of energy in a tube about 4 ft accross, thats what I was refering to. I was not trolling or trying to make an argument, just stating my view.
PS
The look of the new Enterprise is kind of crap though.
every bit of Star Trek is put in very detail, from ship scales, to weapon designs..
where Kirk was born and the Design of a Photon Torpedo is written there!!
the thing that i don't get from JJ's mind is that whats the point of rebooting Star Trek?? the 2009 movie ruined everything!.. ship designs, weapon designs, everything!! does JJ even read the Encyclopedia??
It's sad that The ,,Old Lady" go through what peoples called ,,Holywoodism". For example Battlestar Galactica, The movie called Flubers and many other old stuffs was ,,refited" in the past few years. Not all of them was like the case of Enterprise. Thank GOD!
By the way I tell you something, which perhaps can delight you, but not easy. In Battlestar Galactica (in the old and new one as well) there are references of ST, because some of the TOS team was work on BGS.
I agree Matt & (and Gene) made the coolest ship. And that 11 footer could have been ANYBODYS.The prop department wanted it GONE! It wasnt even covered. The guy who 'could' have taken says it was to big for his garage! And lets not forget, Gene lent the three footer to someone and never got it back. How about finding that at a yard sale? (I would probably give it to Eugene-Genes son) And the original captains chair was taken from the garbage! I Digress!!
What's the deal with that Abrams ship. Besides being dog ugly, was it ever in any story line of the franchise? I don't recognize it at all. One guy mentioned an "alternate universe," could that be where its from?
Very nice collection indeed!!!!!!!!!!! Personally, I'd add the "I.S.S. Enterprise"!!!!! I suppose that the Imperial Enterprise would be my favourite Enterprise!!!!!!!!!!! Great Collection you have!!!!!
Lol I am a major star trek fan but i do have to disagree the enterprise 2009 is very sleek and very stylish it fits this time period and i'm sorry but the old enterprise is just to choppy and ugly but that's my opinion lol but my all time favorite is the U.S.S. ENTERPRISE NCC 1701-D or the galaxy class it's the best one ever !!!
I completely agree about how the engineering section looked, but the alternate universe Constitution looks great in my opinion. I love the classic TOS Constitution, and if I had to rate it, it'd get a 9/10, while the new one would get 8/10. Of course the Galaxy class gets an easy 10/10 ;)
i acctualy liked the new version of the enterprise better, so i got the toy. but yesterday i got the origional art aylum toy and liked it soooo much better than the new one
@SpartanPrimus I agree. I didn't get that either. I know it was because JJA wanted to save money. So they filmed budgineering in a brewery. And it looks like a brewery. It bears no resemblance at all to any engineering section of any starship in the history of Star Trek. It looks too low-tech for what is supposed to be a 23rd century faster-than-light starship. TOS engineering looked far more advanced than JJA's budgineereing did.
@SpartanPrimus Yes. The vertical warp core was introduced in Star Trek TMP in 1979 and has been used in all incarnations of Trek since (except ENT, and obviously JJ-Trek).
@SpartanPrimus LOL! He has a Star Trek sticker book and he just stuck one of those on there because he liked it. He's got Star Trek stickers on everything! And I'm with your dad on that one!:)
@SpartanPrimus Well, Jar Jar Abrams was going for "realism". So apparently, he thought making a 23rd century FTL starship's engine room look like the one from the Titanic was "realistic".
@tjhaywood100 They also couldn't make their minds up on how big the JJPrise is -- ILM's final statement is that it's around 700 meters long, bigger than a Galaxy Class ship. Except they didn't scale up the other things like the windows, so the windows would be 20 feet tall. Idiots!
I happen to like the new Enterprise. The design itself is close enough to the original refit. One thing I don't exactly like is according to scale, it's as big as the Enterprise E and apparently it can outgun it as well due to the Narada altering the timeline.
The weapon capabilities and the outer hull don't look so bad, but the interior is a big problem since it looks like a fucking Apple Mac store with bright ass lights. I still say the best Enterprise is the refit from the first 3 films.
@banglefaar And that is you opinion and you are perfectly welcom to it. I just don't agree with the first paragraph. The second paragraph, however, I do agree with. I hated the iBridge and budgineering.
So, here are a bunch of very HIGH TECH (24th century?) Rolumans being "captured" by early 22nd Century Klingons with a STARSHIP at least 200+ yrs more advanced than any starship of the 22nd century? Like I had also written just imagine the Nuke Carrier U. S. S. ENTERPRISE going back in time to just 1941! Not only would it wipe out the combined naval fleets on the Earth, it could also take out all the nations of 1941! Imagine what that Roluman STARSHIP could do to the EMPIRE & FEDERATION!
About 2 months after this "new" ST fick came out they actually answered a question I was wondering about? What did those Rolumans do for the next 25-30 yrs; just hang out around the galaxy? the ans was a joke" Coming from those that made the "NEW" ST: 'They had been captured by the Klingons & finally escaped!
Imagine the Nuke CARRIER USS ENTERPRISE transports to the time 1941; it could wipe out the combined naval forces of the planet (Final Countdown-diff carrier in that movie).
@rangeclerk That was actually originally part of the script. Scenes were filmed and then cut out of the movie. They are on the deleted scenes disc with the movie. If they had kept those scenes in the movie, it would have made a lot more sense than just assuming Nero farted around the galaxy for 25 years "waiting" for OldSpock to get there. The more I think about that movie, the more I hate it. It was pure stupidity from start to finish. Stupidity bristling with shinythings and lens flares. Boo.

Quite a collection. I like the one that lights up. How many Star Trek ships do you have that light up?. Sorry I just like action figures that do light up or move.
Yeah I been checking out different peoples models... I had the Enterprise-A I put together a long time ago, it came with a shuttle, but I lost it. ... It's a silly looking disproportionate kitbash of a ship. The original is light years better looking. Alternate reality or no, it's still supposed to be a TOS era ship. It should look the part.
Mr Haywood, don't be modest, you have a great and honorable collection of ships, should be proud of it !
I have 4 Enterprises, 2 small metal ones (original and refit) and 2 ERTL (the same). For reasons I ignore, they are of different scales, the original much smaller than the refit.
Like you, I despise this new crap THEY call Enterprise, like the Akiraprise, or even A, B, C, D, E and so on. Enterprise is one. Perfection taken form, love it or go to hell ! Thanks for sharing your vid with us!
I just got a Polar Lights model of the TOS Enterprise. It can be built either as the 1st pilot, 2nd pilot, or regular series versions. I plan to modify it slightly and build it as a combination of the three. It should look interesting. I wanted to put lights in it, but I think it's too small for that.
