You say one doesn't need to be a scholar, that is true to an extent, but when commenting on Islam, one has to use secondary sources from reputable scholarly opinions, someone who has been through the Islamic institutions. Look at you argument. Why do we have even educational institutions set up across the world? If we are to learn, we learn from those that have been taught, of course one can be a self taught individual, but then they'd have limited standing in the academic world. That includes all sciences and fields of knowledge. Religion is no different. That does not however excuse anyone from attaining even a basic understanding.

Channel 4 "undermines community cohesion"??? I´ll tell you what undermines community cohesion - the Muslim Council of Britain, the hate preachers and the demands for special treatment.

Just two days ago, I was at a parents meeting in my sons kindergarten. One father,from Yemen, protested that the kids should celebrate christmas in any way, shape or form.

I am an atheist, but at that meeting he did more to undermine community cohesion than any programme from Channel 4 could ever do.
