So let me get this straight. David Byrne, former genius, did not become rich and boring by the time Naked came out? I respect his transportation choice, as I have been riding a bike for transportation for over half a century. People, people, people - check out a little thing called "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts".
This song has such a cool groove to it Wall Street Money Never Sleeps used it perfectly in the film. The music is great and David's lyrics are, well their David's lyrics you can't go wrong. Great upload.
@GBrady43229 I believe it was a collaboration between the two of them. It's still up; youtube won't let me post the link in a comment but I've added it up in the info bar.
I don't think so, no. I've just taken a brief look at their website and I don't see a link for it. Then again, it's been over two years since I posted this, so it might well be up and I'm just rusty at looking through their site for it. You can still listen to the album on their website, though, and through a bit of computer trickery grab it for yourself.
great song. i remember when i got first got the email to download this song for free (i'm on his mailing list), it really made my day... actually, it made my week. i highly recommend the album- beauty, peace, and beauty!
Yeah. One thought... I am listen to this with what happen politically in the US this week in mind... I felts like there was a kind of a new horizon, as it may be the case in the pas when Eno and Byrne were not as famous (and rich and lazy, maybe), were perfectly connected with what came out popular cultures since the 60, were exchanges letters and were finally producing their musical experiences of the late 70s and early 80s...
I highly suggest you see the concert IF you can get tickets. I was at Asheville last night. I am almost 60 years old. I was one of the best shows I have ever seen. David is so talented and the songs are so nice. His voice is incredible, and I love the way he moves.
DO NOT MISS THE CHANCE TO SEE HIM. It is a show-of-a-lifetime.
I'd agree with most people here that this is not Eno's or David's most out there release. That being said it is catchy as hell and the chorus is massive. I suppose you could call it a guilty pleasure but I don't feel too guilty about it really.
Lyrics (Part II): Your song still needs a chorus I know you'll figure it out The rising of the verses A change of key will let you out Strange overtones Though they're slightly out of fashion I'll harmonize See the music in your face That your words cannot explain Strange overtones In the music you are playing We're not alone It is strong and you are tough But a heart is not enough
i really love the work these guys have done in the past together. this is really boring stuff compared to the dadaist approaches they used to take. maybe they need to hang upsidedown and spin before going into the studio to get their creative juices flowing again...........
I know of David Byrne but I don't really know hi music - just his hits - so I'm not a fan as such
This song made me cry on a train! When I realized what the song is about. So powerful! Eno has done a great job on the music and claified that a song is NOT a poem put to music.
I like this song, and the album is slowly growing on me, but adventurous it isn't. It reminds me of wrong way up, which was the better work if you ask me: more tension. These collaborating-without-ever-meeting-up projects often lack that energy I guess.

After all this time I thought David Byrne might be able to come up with some ideas that were aa little bit different than everything he's done before, sadly no. What is Brian Eno providing here, some sounds? This music certainly is no stretch for Brian Eno, he's done way more creative work. I hope the rest of the album is not like this. I really don't understand why these two pioneers weren't more adventurous, they certainly don't need the money, how sad.

Even if they weren't adventurous, isn't there such a thing as making music to have fun?
I certainly would not criticize these two for a lack of creativity. They made songs of the early 80s sound futuristic- songs that are still futuristic, and don't sound like anything else I've heard from recent albums.
I will agree that it isn't my favorite of his work, but definitely a refreshment from the crap music that has been out for a long time.
I'd like to agree with you because both of these guys have done great things. I just wasn't expecting this album to be so environmentally conscious (recycled).
My opinion isn't worth much on this one anyway I've only heard bits and pieces of this recording, so far. I'm sure I'll wind up buying it as I have everything else they've done.
