"Satanic Ritual"...where have I seen this before?!? OH, THAT'S RIGHT, THE 1980's Daycare Abuse Scandals in Malden, Massachusetts...I thought we were done falsely convicting "Satanic Ritual Abuse" (& Murder) Cases, when a jury WRONGFULLY CONVICTED Gerald Amirault for something along very similar lines (less the murder, but that's isn't my point) & it CAME OUT OVER THE YEARS, That Judge Elizabeth Dolan's victim interviews were "don't take no for an answer" situations, that was years before 1993
The killings of those boys may be related to the story of Abraham, Isaac, and God in Genesis (include circumcision/genital mutilation). If there is a connection, the killer (or killers) were either crazed Christians or anti-Christians mocking the religion. Read the story in Genesis. What do you think?
Way to go Erin Moriarty! You helped set three child murderers free!
Really, why you didn't bother looking further into the WM3 case instead of just watching and parroting what you saw in the documentaries is beyond me? Says something about CBS News too.
If you had done just a little more investigating you would have known about things like Echols mental history or Misskelley three confessions.
@ted818283 Please are you serious? There was no DNA linking them to the boys. NONE!! plus Misskelley confession was under duress. The police officer couldn't provide the full interview. Second Both Stepfathers of Steve and Chris have mental, drug abuse, molestation charges, and only one of them had there DNA on the boys. At least Misskelley had IQ less than 72 and couldn't keep is story straight while one of those stepdad couldn't give an alibi or a statement that was change constantly.
@susiQ75 Despite what experts paid for by the defense claim, there's no evidence Misskelley's confession was coerced. What's more, he didn't confess just once, but THREE times. Listen to a recording of his final confession, which was after the convicting and sentencing phase of his trial, when all bargaining chips were off the table. You can hear his own lawyer pleading with him not to confess. Misskelley feels remorse and is adamant about his guilt.
@susiQ75 And Hobbs is not seriously considered a suspect. The hair that may have belonged to him that was found on one of the victims could have easily been picked up at the Hobbs' home hours, days, or even weeks before the murders. The hair does not prove he committed the murders. And why on Earth would he kill them? It is certain 2 of the boys drowned. What? Did he drown them at home and then bring the bodies to the woods? While the first search was going on? C'mon.
@ted818283 Did you even heard Misskelley's confession? You have than you know it was a coerce confession, you can't put words into people's mouth to get a confession. Plus did you see that a huge chunk of the interviews was missing, that is when the Police were harrassing him to say what they want him to say. By the time his lawyer was there, he was scared. That hair was another child not his step son. Plus he left to drop wife at 4p pick her up around 9p all those hrs is opportunity.
@susiQ75 Did you read my comment? He confessed to police THREE times. Were the confessions all coerced? What about the third confession, the one with his lawyer begging him not to... how on Earth was that coereced? In addition to the confession he made to police, he also confessed to friends and fellow inmates. He also knew things about the crime that had not been made public.
@ted818283 Plus what about Baldwin sweet deal of five yrs in prison to give up Echols. You would accept that deal if you were guilty and not spend rest of your life in prison. He also didn't want to accept new deal but did so for Echols. You can believe Misskelley's remorse why not Baldwin?? Hobbs lied to officers, listen to his confession how he changes his story plus his own daughter accused him of molestation. He has to answer a lot of questions, his friend too, regarding that night.
@susiQ75 WHY would the DEFENSE ask for the deal if they were innocent? Why would they want their clients to plead guilty to first degree murder instead of waiting for the evidentiary hearing in December? If they were sure a new trial would be granted, why didn't they go forward with the hearing? Sounds like the defense wanted to take the plea to the prosecution because they knew they didn't have enough new compelling evidence to warrant a new trial, and then their clients' fate would be sealed.
The show was good it was awesome to see pics of them enjoying their first week of freedom... I forever wish them nothing but joy and peace in their lives.
been following these guys for a while, sent my thoughts and wishes to them, they're clearly innocent, they've known it for so long and i can't imagine not having that eat me alive while being locked up for that long, they deserve to be exonerated, and that terry fellow whose evidence they actually have needs to be investigated hardcore, once this hits the air they'll have a lot more support... But is this the Paradise Lost 3? Or is that different?
@murkraz This is just a one hour special Murkraz, the movie "Paradise Lost 3 Purgatory" will premier on HBO in January of 2012, which will be the final installment in the series.
