  • I HAVE THIS CD. NOT MY ERA BUT I LOVE GLENN MILLER.

  • My dad was the writer on this on this. Glad its making people happy! Merry Christmas:)

  • In the early 50's I was about 5-6 and we dodn't have TV so we did like everyone else then ,we listened to music and watched a fire burning in the fireplace . It was all we had and we loved every bit of it. I've heard other persons my age say the very same thing. You know there is something special about watching a nice fire burning in the fireplace and it seems to be telling you it's own story. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

WHEN MY SON STARTED 6 GRADE HE JOINED THE BAND AND HIS PLAYED THE ALTO SAX AND IF I SAY SO MYSELF HE WAS GOOD BY THE TIME HE ENTERED 9th GRADE. I HAD HIM WATCH THE GLENN MILLER MOVIE AND HE LOVE GLENN MILLER. HIS TUTOR GOT HIM THE SHEET MUSIC FOR IN THE MOOD AND TOOK MY CD AND SAT DOWN AND LEARNED TO PLAY IT ALL ON HIS OWN. LARRY WAS 12 AND HE HAD A LARGE VARIETY OF MUSIC HE LIKED.

  • The Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1988 consisted of: Ralph Olson, Lee Lachman (alto saxophone, clarinet); Mark Vinci, Frank Perowsky (tenor saxophone, clarinet); Richy Barz (alto & baritone saxophones, bass clarinet); Tom Snelson, Ken Brader, John Hoffman, Dale Thompson (trumpet); Larry O' Brien, Eric Culver, Randy Purcell, Dennis Good (trombone); Don Edmonds (piano); Jay Patten (guitar); Lanny Fields (bass); Danny D'Imperio (drums). The album was recorded from May 17-24, 1988 in New York.

  • ...And this is why big band music is no longer popular. Frumpy and slow. The original version of this song (recorded in 1942, I think) is WAAAAAAAYYYYY better! Lots of pep, swing, and youthful sound! Love it!

  • You don't have to have been born 80 years ago. Just BUY these cds and maybe, just maybe the record companies will stop pushing the junk that is so called 'popular' today. Sales is what makes this music POPULAR again.

  • Added this to my Big Band Christmas playlist, THANKS, MÁ! chuck

  • gracias...excelente!!! muy relajante. Lejos de los acordes neuroticos de la musica de hoy......

  • Ahh, why couldn't I have been born 80 years ago?
