  • Easily one of the greatest sad movies

  • i dont care who you are....if you dont cry at this scene you are not human

  • 6' 5" 315 pounds!

  • I HAVE to hold back the tears because I'm in public! Why does God even CARE about us? Look at the TRASH even on youtube! We don't deserve to be remembered by Him! We all deserve to die! I gotta quit looking at the trash on youtube! He DESERVES better than that!

  • The first movie to make me cry in a long time

  • @powerhousechipmunk23 "the first"? is there a second?

  • My favorite movie of all time. This scene is powerful every time I see it. You know you've found a special film when that happens.

  • Oh my god I couldn't stop crying :(

  • me, either. :(

  • omg @dries9542 have u actually seen the movie ?

ofcourse he is innocent wild bill killed the girls which was the flashback

  • David Morse also played Brian Engle in The Langoliers, another Stephen King movie.

  • Is Michael Clarke Duncan actually that big?

  • To answer my own question, I just found out: Yes.

  • Huge fucker alright.

  • wow when they all started balling i started crying this scene was sooo sad i always cry when i see this part

  • After he said roll on two, thats when the flood gates opened :'(

  • The father of the girls needs a fashion slap. He has a white shirt with dirty overalls and a tie... You dont put a tie on with overalls

  • Saw this movie yesterday, and I was absolutely heart-broken. Easily one of the top ten best films I've ever seen, and this scene is one of the saddest. But one thing I didn't fully understand. When John said "He killed them with their love", I understand that he was referring to how both of the two girls wanted to sacrifice herself in order to save her sister, but what did he mean by "That's how it is, every day, all over the world"?

  • It means that, we as human beings, take advantage of the love others have for us for our own personal gain. Whether or not we're related is not relevant. Humans always hang others out to save their own butts. He's just referring to how people take advantage of others for their own personal gain. We should sacrifice ourselves for others and not allow others to sacrifice themselves for us. Give, Give, Give, Give and expect nothing in return!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg this movie made me cry so much. i was beside myself with anger. not fucking fair at all

  • It's just like in To Kill A Mockingbird. They kill a framed black guy for rape, but this time it's also for killing.

  • @monsterboy31 yeah it is that book was sad to

  • I cried like a castle-dog

  • nope.. god bless him..

  • I know that the parets for the two girls thinks that Coffey is the murdererm but still, I hate it when they shout at him. Poor Coffey

  • dnt put me in the dark boss .i is scared of the dark, ahh bless him

  • John: Don't put me in the dark im afraid of the dark..

Me:T.T he is innocent!!! Poor John!!!!!!

  • God speaks through these movies!

  • @Veep05 yeea and he's saying : "Black guy always is fucked up ;p"

  • he kill um with the love

    thats how it is

    everyday

    all over the world

  • Who was the actor that played John?

  • @rentluvers That's Michael Clark Duncan. Played The Kingpin in Daredevil.

  • michael clark duncan

  • *throws a book at the lady who said she hopes the shock hurts him like hell* Screw you :)

  • i cried so much! my pillow soaked all the way through!! an amazing film!

  • so so sad... he is innocent....always makes me cry....the guards knew he didn't rape and kill those girls but they couldn't do anything....the guy who plays john is an amzing actor!

  • John....don't you EVER be sorry for what you are....ever..

  • i dont think anything else needs to be said after that.

  • I saw this movie on TNT like 5 hours ago and when I saw this scene I felt like cryin because it was sad to see him die :-(

  • @TheColoruvian hell yeah such a good person who did no harm and yet he dies very emotional movie

  • Hey I just watched this on TV on TNT but I didn't turn it on until the part where the one officer killed the rat. What happened before that? Why was John accused of the murder?

  • after this video:

    :'(

  • really, really wanted to cry...the most saddiest thing I could thing of.

  • grown ass man,, and still cryin every single time i see this fucking movie

  • don't put me in the dark, i'm afraid of the dark.

  • that part was what first got me crying cry so sad. hes just so sweet and innocent and yet they killed him anyway.

  • but he WANTED to die. too much pain in the world.

  • IMHO, certain people sitting in front of him need to be in that chair instead.

  • i cry at this part of green mile everytime

  • When I saw this scene at first, I was like Dean, and shouted out loud, "No, What are you doing? Don't kill him!" It just one of these scenes where you want to leap in the television, but for a good reason. :(

  • @livepower34325 lol imagine if dean slapped paul

  • @bathbeads10 what has that to do with anything? O.o

  • @livepower34325 I mean like u saidyou'd shout no

  • it's one of my favorite movies too, I feel sorry for him :(

  • Coffey's execution really messed me up, and I dont even cry

  • shit, i never cry at films, and i soon as i saw paul go for the last handshake i just started crying, sad film, the book was definitley better, but then again the book didn't make me cry

  • I usually always got to halfway through this movie and could never see the end for some reason. I never cry at movies, but this did bring a tear to my eye. :(

  • yeah... i usually don't cry, but after watching this movie last night, this scene... i shed tears :(

it's just so sad Coffey had to be executed...

  • Same..i watched it last night too T_T SO SAD

  • I can't help but crying when I am watching this clip, especially when John said 'I'm afraid of dark." and when John held his hand with Paul. It is just too sad to watch.

  • They knew he was innocent! They knew it. why did they still kill him?

  • @fingersmcoy John was tired of all the pain, people hurting other people, and he wanted it to end. And he wanted to be executed.

  • @popgirl2112 if the dettericks knew that william wharton killed the girls, would they still want john killed?

  • @bathbeads10 they knew he was innocent and thats why paul said what should i do let the doors open and let you leave john ? and john said no theres alot of pain out there and he can feel all the pain so he said he was rightly tired of the pain and is ready to rest

  • sometimes I think I can relate to Coffey. it's weird but true

  • The soundtrack for this movie is nothing short of amazing. Not to mention this is probly one of the saddest moments of all time.

  • This scene rivals Old Yeller's death in sadness levels.

  • This is one of 3 film parts that make me shed tears. John Coffey is a true example of a Gentle Giant

  • It's so hard not to shed any tears during this part...

  • First time i saw this i never thought i could be cheerfull again.

  • i neva saw this movie...what happened and why was he executed

  • sad really he was innocent, wrongly accused of murdering two little girls. Leaves you with a lump in your throat.

  • He was accused of the murder and rape of two little girls but it wasn't him that had done it. All the officers knew it which made it harder for them to kill him because they knew he was innocent and also a miracle from god.

  • I went on a first date with a girl to see this movie and I cried like a motherfucker.

    Still pulled though :)

  • i held my breathe through this whole section! i was an inch away from the tv

  • the afraid of the dark thing is so fukin sad :'(

  • i know its just a film, but i didnt want him to die damn it annoys me, so sad. i hate evil people!!!!

  • @FknMstr i think everyone hate evil people lol but your right i didnt want him to die

  • this movie is amazing....its soo touching

  • Before 3:40 my eyes were dry...through the rest i cried

  • Shut up prick.

  • One of the greatest moments in cinematic history.

  • Book is amazing.

  • What is the music? Author, what's it called?

  • @Itzmyrave

    Stephen King- The Green Mile

Green Mile Soundtrack: # 33 or 34: Coffey on The Mile

  • @Itzmyrave It is by Thomas Newman.

  • You can bet when this movie premiered, there literally wasn't a dry eye in the house. The music just adds to it's heartwrenching aspect. I still cry during this scene.

  • I almost cried at this part, and i've never cried about a film.

  • "They kill em with they love thats how it's everyday all over the world".=Most brilliant quote ever. Such a sad movie, I still have tears in my eye.

  • Heartwrenching :(

  • im a grown man and i found this really emotional wow

  • Yeah same here.

  • this film is the only film that ha made me cry

and i cried hard after this film

  • i feel so bad he said hes afraid of the dark thanx 4 the video

  • I break down crying everytime I see this movie... My absolute favorite movie, ever. So emotional..

  • this is the only video or movie to ever make me cry

  • The Green Mile is the only movie that is truly sad for me. I have never felt so sad watching a movie, never cried so much. Just thinking about it during the day I end up teary eyed. And I honestly don't consider myself an emotional person, I didn't feel sad watching Titanic, Saving Private Ryan or any other films that are considered sad by most people.

The Green Mile is one of the best films ever.

  • I watched Green Mile 4 times so far in my life time and i cry more each time. I start crying from the "tired John scene" until the credits. But i must say that Saving Private Ryan is actually sad too. I didn't cry until the end. I watched the film and though when is it going to be sad, but after the bridge, it actually got a tear out of me.

  • I don't usually cry while watching films but this really got me. This movie is a masterpiece.

  • i ball my eyes out watching this

  • I'm a 36 year old guy and I can't watch this without blubbing either. Mind you, I was in tears at the end of Con Air, when Nicholas Cage's daughter hugs him... OK, I'm a bit soft when it comes to films...

  • I can watch this movie over and over again, words can't express how beautiful it is.

  • Not many things in life can choke me up.. This movie is one of them.
