A spider guards the tower of the Crimson King (represented by an eye.) On the dolllar bill there is a spider's web surrounding a pyramid (tower) and an eye. In Lord of the Rings, there is a spider (Shelob) guarding the tower and the eye. Notice a pattern? The spider is MAMAN - google image search it. Check the bible for information on the demon MAMMON. The tower is the TOWER OF BABYL, the eye is Lucifer.
sounds like pink floyd. I always think of pink floyd whilst I read the dark tower. I always think of the song 'misery' by green day while i read 'salem's Lot
nice song, i think it wud have worked better if u included more images of the ka-tet as they travelled the wastes and bonded, the tune makes me think of them and the friendship they had. lets hope if they ever put this story to screen they do it justice, on the efforts of The Stand, It and Desperation i wont hold my breath.
This song is alot better than mine you also are alot better at guitar than me. But I just don't find this song to capture that dark tone of the books, it sounds a little too cheerful. It also reminds me of that music you would find in a porno or something. J/k about the last part XD
Even now as I listen, I feel it tug my heart. it moves me in a way most ordinary music never truly can; it sparks the soul. thank you, and may you have many long days and pleasant nights, gunslinger, and may Ka guide your hands and heart so we can hear it again.
much as the DT books spoke to me, this song does as well. it was a very beautiful interpetation of the Gunslingers' quest. I sat down at the piano and managed, as though Ka itself guided my hands, to a beautiful melody that complimented your own, and I couldn't help but wonder, was it your song, or the Song of the Rose? (interesting title for a song.. maybe I'll use it, say thankya) (To be continued in a second comment)
After all the times I've listened to this song it still blows me away. Just heard they are going to probably do a tv miniseries, would love to see your song used somehow, it really reflects alot of the sadness of the series, thankee sai yet again.
I liked the song alot, when i saw that this was your own i was expecting a darkish bluegrassy tone or country tone (the way i would make it if i could write a song lol)the song was great and the ending was better :D
i finished the wolves of the calla awhile back but im taking a break between books
i read the whole series and once i finished the last book i read the whole thing again, i must say that i enjoyed it a lot more on the second try, maybe because some things became clearer, or i was reading with a different mindset?
Ye spoke true, thankee sai. Im currently at Wizard and Glass so I got a bit more to go, I feel really connected to the story however and I must say I am impressed how you can write music to it. Keep up the good work. You have remembered your father's face.
Thankee sai, now i know what the rose must have felt to Roland, Jake, Eddy, Sussanah, and Oy. For surely after watching and listening i am filled with a kind of warmth and happiness that only the rose could produce. May you have long days and pleasant nights.
I actually didnt picture the end credits of a movie. More like the end credits of a Dark Tower video game if it were made in the mid-90's. Not knockin' it though; it was a mellow groove.
La voz que lleva consigo el crepusculo dulce aroma de las rosas, el aroma de la casa en una noche de verano, o perdido! Una piedra, una rosa, una puerta todavia no se encontro. Una piedra, una rosa, una puerta.
My favourite line from book 7 of The Dark Tower series. Great music, by the way, it really captured that bittersweet quality of Roland's tragic journey. Muy bien!
what made this song so melancholic was that the music wasn't THAT sad, but still it was. It kind a made it so u had to use you're imagination. If u see? But still it was a sad song with a little "happy" feel to it. It describes in a way Roland with out using words.
I'v just started reading the fourth book. :) And im falling in love with Susan Dean :(.
Thankee for that good work of a true Ves-Ka Gan, you don't go unappreciated. Good to see A worthy tribute as yours. Good to see ka has lead you to the Dark Tower series.
I think it needed to be a little bit darker at parts, due to the constant regret and sadness that Roland feels. I still thought it was a great song though and it really captured the general feel of the series. Good job.
agreed. needed a dark, sombre feel. almost a dirge, with some morricone-esque thing going on. not a bd effort, all told. the books were among the best i've read,
I got this rediculous emotional thing going for the books but the whole thing was just chaos. Best represented for me, is Black Flag of The dead kennedys
and this(tune) really brings the feelings of such an emotional epic out with its awesomeness. actually i smelled somthing burning after i watched this... it was my face melting from your video's awesomeness. GOOD JOB! you are a true te-ka. keepind the ves ka gan going my friend. cant tell you how much this(your music) made me weep for the breakin of roland's tet. GOOD FUCKING JOB!
im really speechless to your licks and mastery of the guitar, but i really am out of things to say because this my friend is probably the greatest tribute ive seen/heard for the dark tower series. im pretty sure roland, jake, eddie, susannah/odetta/detta and the pere would be happy and proud of your ves ka gan. ^o^
Sounds like a major scale yet sad

beautiful beautiful beautiful. This song just makes me picture Roland leading his mule through the desert with a crow wheeling over head.
Added note: THERE IS A DARK TOWER MOVIE COMING OUT! check it out on Stephen King's website.

I feel like this song captures the sadness and the happy times in the book very well.

@TrunkMonkey3000 Don't bring your crazy nonsense here, listen to the song.
King made the story because it was an idea of his for a long time. None of that has anything to do with the Dark Tower.

Isn't Jae Lee's artwork awesome? I like it as much as Michael Whelan's. I like the song too. Put the slughorn to lips and blow Roland.

The Gans(Stephen King he of Maine) best work. His words should be taught in schools. All things serve the beam!

Your guitar being slightly out of tune is a cool match to the feeling of unbalance between the Beams. Cool song!

Watch out books 5 - 7 blow, just a heads up
books 1 - 4 are the real Dt books
bmxtrls250 4 years ago
5-7 didn't blow
granted they didn't have the same grit to them
but let's see you pick up a story some years later and capture the exact same feel. if anything, the writing is better, if not as creative or raw.
