@realfelixneko7 The swords they're using are dulled, that probably includes the tip. In most real metal fighting the tips of the swords are either covered in a blunt rubber tip or just left out all together.

id like to fight you in REAL medieval armor.

dont mean anything bad towards you ofcourse, just miss having those realistic fights.

we used homemade steel armor with heavy padding. we were mostly aiming for the midsection of enemy, but as you know, steel swords do penetrate steel armor so we resorted to heavy hardwood weapons..sux!

just miss the reality of it all.

Looks like good fun. If you guys DID learn some more technique, though, it wouldn't be so...repetative (I saw the same motions over and over again). I only say it because it might enhance your play time. Think of it as adding more game plans to your Madden 2007.

i think it's a very nice video, but some "researches" showed that medieval fighting was probably more based on technique rather than power. we reenactors can afford such a violent fighting just cuz we have steel swords and armour. If we used a REAL sword (with "historical" iron and thickness) we would break it using it this way...

I fail to see how one can say they use historical techniques and yet ignore the legs as they seem to be doing in this video. Many stances such as the Alber(fool's) guard lose most of their tacticle advantage when the legs are ignored. It also shortens the fight distance because opponents don't have to worry about their legs being taken off as the advance. I could go on and on about this. John Clements even wrote a long essay on the subject.

they use real historic styles of fighting, such as halfswording, and real trainers show them how to do such things.

Try so medieval techniques with no armor and wooden sword. It is easy. And now try to do it in full plate armor with steel sword. It is really hard

No magic armor in the SCA. Not much difference in the armor the SCA uses and what they are wairing.... At least the good armor that some people use in the SCA.
