I didn't watch many games with Seaman in the goal, although I know the name very well. In fact, the only situation with Seaman I can remember is the goal Ronaldinho scored in the 2002 World Cup quarterfinal from a free kick near the middle of the pitch.

Believe me, it took a long time before the average PL goalies were up to par with other leagues. Yes, maybe now and then one rose above mediocrity, but mostly the average quality of goalies was very poor.
