"Preaching the Gospel?" If you actually stick to the Gospel--that is, the content of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John--you won't find a bunch of hostile obsession about other people's sexuality. You get a more universal and quite lovely message when you follow Jesus and don't draw so much from ancient bigotries or Paul-of-Tarsus's chauvinisms.

You sure? I've read the bible thoroughly; I don't see Jesus himself criticizing gays, or subordinating women in anyway. I find anti-gay messages all over the Old Testament, and Paul's letters, but not in the Gospels. Likewise, strictures against women, and customs involving their subordinant status everywhere in the Bible, EXCEPT in the specific words of Jesus. Is that worth noting? Or is it a totally meaningless observation?

read your bible again. jesus in the new testament says its a wrong way. dude their is no secret no gays will be in heavin its a lifestyle which GOD himself does not aprove of. gays do have a chance if they repent and realize what they do is wrong and turn to jesus.

Direct me to where Jesus himself says homosexuality is wrong. I'm perfectly aware of St. Paul being against it, and the ancient Hebrews. But I don't remember Jesus saying anything about it at all. I can't find it. (I don't have a reference guide, or an index.) In any case, I don't no one has a body in Heaven, so it's not gonna matter what was done with it once you get there. Smoking? Drinking? Overeating? Why does sex get rated so high amongst bad things you can do with your body?

the bible explains how when you become born again, your body becomes the sprits temple. pal bible knowledge is everything we belong to jesus. what we do to our bodies will be judged. alot of christians and others will fail due to the lack of biblical scriptures in their lives. GOD is just and holy no one will trick or escape this judgment. this is why we need jesus.

I understand all of that (better than you presume). However, you still have not directed me to where Jesus Himself says anything in particular about homosexuality. That was my entry point into this conversation. You told me I was mistaken about it; but you're not providing the quote I'm looking for, which would contradict my understanding that Jesus didn't talk about homosexuality.

Whenever people say, "You are wasting your breath because no one is listening," the only response that makes sense to give is, "Are you speaking for the entire George Mason community?" There are 30,000 people on our campus, and if even 1% stops and listens and is affected, then we've reached 300 people. So I would encourage you to sit down in between classes one day for 20 minutes or so and see if anyone listens.

You would be surprised at just how effective it is. I actually preach like this every day at Mason, and people tell me how much it encourages them. Just last week, someone told me how they had given their life to the Lord because the message convicted them so much. So whether you agree with it or not, there is no doubt that the desired effect is being achieved.
