@Marleymadkeent Other than trans people, which the average viewer finds interchangeable with drag queens, thanks to media portrayals like this. I know as a cis man, that does not affect you, but don't speak for everyone.
for the first few years after periods started I was in literal agony I would projectile vomit and couldn't do anything for the first 2 days of my period. I was conscious if my womb the whole time because i could feel it growing and changing. I try to be as liberal and accepting as possible, but to me that is what defines being a woman.
@HHlivemusic So meeting a cis woman, assigned female at birth, who through some condition, does not have a period, you would tell her she's not a woman? That's pretty silly, but then, it's just your opinion, I suppose.
So, meeting a human, assigned human at birth, who through some condition, can't fly, you would tell him that he's not a duck? That's pretty silly, but then, it's just your opinion, I suppose.
All this argument over a video which isn't about transvestites but a drag queen! Great ad, it should be let back on TV. Maybe they need to just add 'titles' of some sort above each of the people as they enter the frame to make sure people understand that one of the 'women' is a male drag queen, and the other is a woman. That way there won't be any implications of being insensitive or being politically incorrect.
Trans-women will never have to go through the burdens of pregnancy, menstrual cycles, and hormonal changes, all things that affect a biological female physically, mentally, and emotionally. They have to realize that and get over it.
But I can't relate to how these people feel and what they go through, and it's possibly due to a hormonal imbalance in the womb, because chromosomes don't lie. And it's also wise to show a bit of sympathy to people who have to live like this as well.
wow you people are ignorant, I have been on hormones for nearly 2 decades and i get all the ups and downs that cis woman get and oh i use pads. but not Libra.
@RichardRich89 There are cis women who never go through that, too. But I guess they also aren't real women according to you.... well, I hesitate to call it "logic."
@Bragnanymous Menstrual cycles and childbirth are things that occur naturally within the females of our species, and in that context the majority of the world's female population are able to have children and get their periods.
A similar argument would be to say that males who are sterile, or are unable to erect and ejaculate aren't real men, when that isn't the context of what I am saying. It qualifies as a medical condition. Don't fucking put words in my mouth and twist them.
And non-trans women will never have to go through the burdens of male puberty and being forced to live as a man for part of their life. All women have burdens. Remember that there are also non-trans women who are born infertile, or with menstrual disorders that don't have periods. But that doesn't make them less of a woman does it?
Trans-women go through severe hormonal changes as well. They basically get a second puberty to develop female sex characteristics.
@AlassandraIsMyName "Non-trans women"? What about the term 'genotypic female'? Sexual dimorphism exists between both sexes for a reason, even though there are varying degrees of masculinity and femininity. But I am not going to warp my perception of reality to accomodate anybody else.
@AlassandraIsMyName "Remember that there are also non-trans women who are born infertile, or with menstrual disorders that don't have periods. But that doesn't make them less of a woman does it?"
Human fertility is not a new phenomenom, but a serious medical condition. Environmental factors and dietary lifestyles play a big role in affecting a persons physical health and reproductive capability.
There are men that are rendered sterile and feminized via chemical exposure.

The biggest insult. The sharpest blade. The most damaging thing you can EVER say to a transgender person is that they are in some way "fake", "not complete", or anything other than what they present as.
@newgirlde Do you know the WHO = World Health Org wants a global reduction in human population? What better idea do they have in allowing people like yourself and other homosexuals to marry etc. You can NEVER EVER have children of your own and that is exactly what these world leaders want. Yes that's right you are "FAKE" and do not have DNA make up of a real female and never will.
@newgirlde most people do not accept your kind now believe it or not and Never will. so get it through your thick homosexual brain if you have one at all you fucked up clown!!

@bakakurisu Yeah, you couldn't be a real doctor just by dressing up as one. And also because *real doctors* know that transgenderism is an actual condition, and you seem to lack even that basic knowledge. So it's not the stethoscope you lack, it's facts. :) I hope that helps.
Well, it's TRUE, isn't it?????? DUDES DON"T HAVE PERIODS! Putting on a dress, wearing lipstick, even getting "operations" done, doesn't make you a woman in the TRUE sense of the word. Leave it to POLITICALLY CORRECT LIBTARDS to be offended by the TRUTH.
@laurenamberbrown Bet you Youtube management is full of gay queers because this video has been stuck on 320 views since a hour after I made it. Nobody should have to accept these freaks just like religions. But these days it seems we are told and forced what to believe and views are jammed down your throat. The Truth is that WHO etc want global population reduction so making these drag queens is great idea for them.
@laurenamberbrown By your standards, lets consider this. I want to run an ad depicting Christianity as false. The ad suggests Atheism is the truth, and that Christians should just accept the fact that it is the truth. It's correct to say religions do not exist, because they provide no evidence to suggest it does. Do you think it's right to run this ad? If you're not religious, you may say it's okay, but we see those who do get offended. It's all about perspective.
@NairuOnLife This is not "perspective". This is trannies getting mad at the fact that they can't have periods. "PERIOD ENVY", lol. Just because they are upset they can't get periods, doesn't mean that only REAL women having periods is any less true.
@laurenamberbrown Alrighty, good to know. So I can make an ad, marketing shoes and having someone hand an amputee a pair, and have the amputee roll away in anger in his wheelchair. Foot envy? It IS about perspective. I can make cases all day that make this commercial hypocritical. It's not about our definition of truth, it's about respect for other people. If you wish to employ a "choice" factor, we don't know what truely causes Trans. yet, so leave opinion out of it.
@NairuOnLife Transwhatever's are nothing but freaks of nature. I'm not going to bring religion into this as there is no point and I'm not religious, but in the real world, you would have to either man up or die. Nothing causes Tranny's its a mental issues and those people are damaged goods and not a disease. Its not natural, the ad is a joke, get a life, get over yourselves and have a laugh. Tranny's are nothing more than a surgical mutilation, nothing more, nothing less
@AdrianMX6 It's a shame society these days confuses opinion with fact, like you have. "Nothing causes Tranny's", and your proof... is? There are no documented scientific evidence overwhelmingly suggesting this is not "Caused" by anything. If this were to be true, and Trans. isn't caused, then the "effect" of BEING Trans isn't an effect, either. If your backwards logic were true, you could come up with an effect that has no cause. Please provide evidence there is such a thing.
@NairuOnLife He wasn't trying to say that there can be effect with no cause, he just doesn't think people are transgender because of a medical condition. I think he went a bit far with it, but you are still missing the point.
@Snazzzish I see, well all in all, I think this debate will fizzle out soon enough. The APA is apparently pulling Transgenderism from the new DSM, removing the label of "Medical condition" entirely. I'm simply being defensive against the terms "Unnatural" and "Choice", because the choice factor is not conclusive, but being presented as so by those against transpeople. Unnatural also suggests a non-conforming nature to biological fact, which does not apply to gender presentation.
@NairuOnLife Fact is you were born with a dick and a pair of balls and not a pussy or female tits. Trannys are just sick in the head and if there is to be a cause, then my opinion would be that you are seriously disjointed from reality if you think a sex change will solve your problems. You will ALWAYS be a man in a woman's world no matter how much of a fake woman you try to turn yourself into. My logic only appears backwards from your perspective, which is defiantly faulty.
@NairuOnLife Your comparison is hugely flawed. An amputee doesn't choose to have their legs chopped off because they "feel that inside that they are an amputee."
@Snazzzish IS it? You're assuming transgenderism is a choice, which is a fallacy as of right now. The scientific community isn't claiming it is or isn't a choice, yet, so don't jump the gun. The choice comes into place when the person decides to persue a life in line with their manner of thought, in this case, being female. Someone in a wheelchair could get artificial legs, but he chose to be in a wheelchair instead. Are we willing to make fun of people for their choices so easily?
@NairuOnLife I think it is disgusting to compare a drag queen to an amputee. If a man has a penis, and for whatever reason decides to wear dresses, make up and get an operation on their genitals, it is a choice. There is no physical force that makes them do it. If someone is in an accident or is assaulted and loses their legs, they have no choice because it is a purely physical thing. I didn't say that being transgender was a choice, simply that changing oneself to be LIKE the opposite sex is.
@Snazzzish I see, so it's the changing of presentation that you're against, not the psychological situation of the individual? The unfortunate fact is that there are no studies suggesting transpeople can be "re-aligned" into conforming to their biological gender. One can only surpress their feelings, which is incredibly detrimental to their mental health, suggested by the rate of suicide present in this population. What solution is there for these people when therapy isn't working?
@NairuOnLife I never said I had anything against transgender people. You have missed the point in nearly every counter-argument you have made. I was just saying that there is no comparison between an amputee and a drag queen because it is the drag queen's choice to dress up as a woman, whereas an amputee did not have the choice to lose their limbs. Whether or not a person feels they are the opposite sex in their head may not be a choice, but actually dressing up as a the opposite sex is.
@NairuOnLife Presenting a pair of shoes to an amputee would be fucked up- that they HAD feet to begin with, and for whatever reason they LOST their feet, through no fault or choice of their own. Trannies CHOOSE to be the way they are. People are BORN with feet, (unless they have some sort of birth defect) and it's a NATURAL THING. Trannies aren't BORN with female parts, and putting on a dress doesn't give them those parts, neither do "operations".
@NairuOnLife Also, by your logic, would you expect a post-menopausal woman to be offended by this commercial because they can't have periods anymore either??
@laurenamberbrown My logic does not suggest this ad is depicting a post-menopausal woman. It is depicting a class of society in a negative light, yet again. And again, suggesting transgenderism is a choice is a fallacy, considering the scientific community has yet to provide evidence for or against this claim. The choice is re-aligning your physicial presentation with your mental consistancy. Also, not all trans people persue female "parts", do not generalize.
@NairuOnLife I didn't say it did. I said USING your logic, would you EXPECT a post-menopausal woman to be offended. Don't use strawman tactics. They won't work. And how is this "depicting a class of society in a negative light"??? I had no idea that a man not having a period was a negative thing. My husband certainly doesn't want to have one. And I, for one, hate them myself. I get all moody, bloated, and bleed from my crotch. It's horrible.
@laurenamberbrown Oh I see, so you assume that my logic says once a woman loses their ability to have periods, they become susceptible to offense in the same set of circumstances as this ad depicts? That'd infer a completely different thing than doing it to a transgender person, which really discounts your question. Perhaps, they'd be offended in a sense of age differentiation, but not gender. It is obvious knowingly providing a tampon to a transgender is offensive, isn't it?
@NairuOnLife Like I have said before- men don't have periods, whether they wear a dress or not. This is an irrefutable FACT. Men in dresses shouldn't be offended by FACT. Next thing you know, people will be offended that the earth is round or the sky is blue or lions can't fly or gravity is what keeps you down lol. Get over yourself. If you are a tranny, you should be "confident" in yourself, and not take offense to what a commercial says.
@laurenamberbrown What is the true sense of the word and why are you allowed to define it? Any definition you offer will exclude cis women who were assigned female at birth, you know. Well... I suppose you don't know. I suppose you didn't consider that. You are a child. And as for "political correctness," this is a term that the lewd, ignorant and vile use to describe the phenomenon of treating other human beings with respect and dignity, even when they are different from you.
@AlassandraIsMyName "So women who go into menopause are no longer true women because they don't have periods?"
Menopause signals the end of the fertile phase in the life of a woman. It's a completely natural part of a females reproductive cycle.
As males get older, they lose the ability to erect and ejaculate, and their sperm quality has the risk of becoming low. The same way females are no longer able to ovulate after a certain age, and their ovaries become useless.
Where was this ran? I could defiantly see this being insulting. Could you imagine an ad during the time of segregation, suggesting blacks to be inferior? Using people who happen to be a constant subject of ridicule in an ad meant to ridicule is bad taste. How would people respond if an ad suggested Religious individuals were inferior to non-believers, they "choose" to believe in god, seems silly to outsiders. Same debate, no one laughs when they're the ones under attack. Be civil, people..
Congrats to the advertising company & libra for making an ad that will get talked about forever! You achieved your goal I may look elsewhere for my products?
@GirliqueDownUnder The problem is they aren't 'pretending', and even they were, they'd be doing what makes them comfortable.
They don't need people to pray to God for them to realize their "masculine truth", they need people to respect them and not make what is already difficult, even harder.
@G2SLM Advertisements are media - media influences opinions and mindsets of people. I am fully supportive of trans* people, but as a young one I nowhere near understood it, because as always, the media treated them as a joke. This ad is nothing new, it's merely perpetuating what is already a problem.
It's an add.... get over it... seriously.... why have so many people lost their sense of humour these days..... if you don't like it then don't watch it.... simple as that.
@xMaidenMistyx Because they expect the world to forcefully respect their political correctness bullshit.
And it's 2012 so you not allowed to have any comedy or humour because you're supposed to be only thinking of doom gloom death and destruction. Hahahaha
Brilliant, Love it. Get a sense of humor people FFS, its just a funny ad. You should see the uproar this has caused in New Zealand, damn, what a country, no one here has any fucking sense of humor, we make the Germans look like comedians. Guess I cant say that either
@bakakurisu Sorry, lost interest on what you where blabering about its a man thing. You slowly becoming a real woman, keep up the pointless talking and you just might pull off half the act.
@bakakurisu Don't now who or rather what you are and dont really care. You might want to count who has actually been spamming this clip the most. Your name comes up on every page and I couldn't be arsed to count. Now piss off an go shave, faggots with beards give me the creeps
If its just the ability to give birth, then does that mean women who are sterile are not women?
And to the person commenting about sticking tampons up their asses, anyone who is actually transgendered would probably just keep them around to help with anyone snooping through their belongings to find out if they USED TO BE a guy.
To boot, you've also assumed that just because you are transgendered means that s/he is homosexual. That is a terrible mistake.
So women who get their vagina nipped and tucked or surgically corrected in any fashion are not women?
I'm not sure if your familiar with the procedure. But it is "real". Unlike breast enhancements its not like they pump her full of odd materials and/or use fake skin to create it. Its identical save for the fact that it wont secrete its own lubrication. Though some transwomen have been able to.
@newgirlde If a man has an operation to construct a vagina (key word, "construct"), it is a creation, therefore it is not real. If a woman already has a vagina and it is simply altered, they are still a woman. Your argument is weak, and you are overlooking common sense.
Typical liberal argument. Instead of actually refuting the argument, you insult someone. Words like "bigot," "racist," and "homophobe" are words used to silence and oppress people who have ideas that you don't like. Very hypocritical of the "oppressed" to oppress.
@tube17968 Only place a tranvestite would have to put them is into their anus. To stop them shitting their panties from having too much gay homosexual sex.
The concept of gender being separate from sex is long-standing and widely accepted, most importantly in the medical community. I think you must consider a person's sex (born a girl) to be equal to their gender no matter what. I don't agree with you, but I can't convince you to change your mind.
I have to ask, though, even if you think trans women are NOT women, do you think they should be ridiculed for how they are? They are a group, like non-whites in the US, gays, the mentally ill
Imagine this commercial is two guys competing to show who is manlier. They show off their muscles, maybe lift something heavy over their heads. Then one guy jumps up and does a high kick in the air. The camera zooms out; the other guy is wheelchair-bound. Do you think this would be just a bit of humor? Transgendered people are a protected group, just like ethnic minorities, those with disabilities, LGBT people, etc.
You don't have to agree with them, but should they be ridiculed?
And thats the root of the problem!!! You can't state the obvious because someone somewhere may be offended. The fact of the matter is is that transwomen aren't women and they need to accept it and move on.
Offended trannies just need to get over themselves... or get ovaries themsleves.

@NairuOnLife He wasn't trying to say that there can be effect with no cause, he just doesn't think people are transgender because of a medical condition. I think he went a bit far with it, but you are still missing the point.
Snazzzish 1 month ago
@Snazzzish I see, well all in all, I think this debate will fizzle out soon enough. The APA is apparently pulling Transgenderism from the new DSM, removing the label of "Medical condition" entirely. I'm simply being defensive against the terms "Unnatural" and "Choice", because the choice factor is not conclusive, but being presented as so by those against transpeople. Unnatural also suggests a non-conforming nature to biological fact, which does not apply to gender presentation.
NairuOnLife 1 month ago
@NairuOnLife Fact is you were born with a dick and a pair of balls and not a pussy or female tits. Trannys are just sick in the head and if there is to be a cause, then my opinion would be that you are seriously disjointed from reality if you think a sex change will solve your problems. You will ALWAYS be a man in a woman's world no matter how much of a fake woman you try to turn yourself into. My logic only appears backwards from your perspective, which is defiantly faulty.
AdrianMX6 1 month ago 3
@NairuOnLife Your comparison is hugely flawed. An amputee doesn't choose to have their legs chopped off because they "feel that inside that they are an amputee."
Snazzzish 1 month ago
@Snazzzish IS it? You're assuming transgenderism is a choice, which is a fallacy as of right now. The scientific community isn't claiming it is or isn't a choice, yet, so don't jump the gun. The choice comes into place when the person decides to persue a life in line with their manner of thought, in this case, being female. Someone in a wheelchair could get artificial legs, but he chose to be in a wheelchair instead. Are we willing to make fun of people for their choices so easily?
NairuOnLife 1 month ago
@NairuOnLife I think it is disgusting to compare a drag queen to an amputee. If a man has a penis, and for whatever reason decides to wear dresses, make up and get an operation on their genitals, it is a choice. There is no physical force that makes them do it. If someone is in an accident or is assaulted and loses their legs, they have no choice because it is a purely physical thing. I didn't say that being transgender was a choice, simply that changing oneself to be LIKE the opposite sex is.
Snazzzish 1 month ago
@Snazzzish I see, so it's the changing of presentation that you're against, not the psychological situation of the individual? The unfortunate fact is that there are no studies suggesting transpeople can be "re-aligned" into conforming to their biological gender. One can only surpress their feelings, which is incredibly detrimental to their mental health, suggested by the rate of suicide present in this population. What solution is there for these people when therapy isn't working?
NairuOnLife 1 month ago
@NairuOnLife I never said I had anything against transgender people. You have missed the point in nearly every counter-argument you have made. I was just saying that there is no comparison between an amputee and a drag queen because it is the drag queen's choice to dress up as a woman, whereas an amputee did not have the choice to lose their limbs. Whether or not a person feels they are the opposite sex in their head may not be a choice, but actually dressing up as a the opposite sex is.
Snazzzish 1 month ago
@NairuOnLife Presenting a pair of shoes to an amputee would be fucked up- that they HAD feet to begin with, and for whatever reason they LOST their feet, through no fault or choice of their own. Trannies CHOOSE to be the way they are. People are BORN with feet, (unless they have some sort of birth defect) and it's a NATURAL THING. Trannies aren't BORN with female parts, and putting on a dress doesn't give them those parts, neither do "operations".
laurenamberbrown 1 month ago
@NairuOnLife Also, by your logic, would you expect a post-menopausal woman to be offended by this commercial because they can't have periods anymore either??
laurenamberbrown 1 month ago
@laurenamberbrown My logic does not suggest this ad is depicting a post-menopausal woman. It is depicting a class of society in a negative light, yet again. And again, suggesting transgenderism is a choice is a fallacy, considering the scientific community has yet to provide evidence for or against this claim. The choice is re-aligning your physicial presentation with your mental consistancy. Also, not all trans people persue female "parts", do not generalize.
NairuOnLife 1 month ago
@NairuOnLife I didn't say it did. I said USING your logic, would you EXPECT a post-menopausal woman to be offended. Don't use strawman tactics. They won't work. And how is this "depicting a class of society in a negative light"??? I had no idea that a man not having a period was a negative thing. My husband certainly doesn't want to have one. And I, for one, hate them myself. I get all moody, bloated, and bleed from my crotch. It's horrible.
laurenamberbrown 1 month ago 2
@laurenamberbrown Oh I see, so you assume that my logic says once a woman loses their ability to have periods, they become susceptible to offense in the same set of circumstances as this ad depicts? That'd infer a completely different thing than doing it to a transgender person, which really discounts your question. Perhaps, they'd be offended in a sense of age differentiation, but not gender. It is obvious knowingly providing a tampon to a transgender is offensive, isn't it?
NairuOnLife 1 month ago
@NairuOnLife Like I have said before- men don't have periods, whether they wear a dress or not. This is an irrefutable FACT. Men in dresses shouldn't be offended by FACT. Next thing you know, people will be offended that the earth is round or the sky is blue or lions can't fly or gravity is what keeps you down lol. Get over yourself. If you are a tranny, you should be "confident" in yourself, and not take offense to what a commercial says.
laurenamberbrown 1 month ago
@laurenamberbrown What is the true sense of the word and why are you allowed to define it? Any definition you offer will exclude cis women who were assigned female at birth, you know. Well... I suppose you don't know. I suppose you didn't consider that. You are a child. And as for "political correctness," this is a term that the lewd, ignorant and vile use to describe the phenomenon of treating other human beings with respect and dignity, even when they are different from you.
Bragnanymous 3 weeks ago
@laurenamberbrown
So women who go into menopause are no longer true women because they don't have periods?
I find your lack of logic, disturbing.
P.S. Stop being ignorant. There is a lot more to it then getting a few operations done. Transsexuals get their hormones changed to female levels.
AlassandraIsMyName 2 weeks ago
@AlassandraIsMyName "So women who go into menopause are no longer true women because they don't have periods?"
Menopause signals the end of the fertile phase in the life of a woman. It's a completely natural part of a females reproductive cycle.
As males get older, they lose the ability to erect and ejaculate, and their sperm quality has the risk of becoming low. The same way females are no longer able to ovulate after a certain age, and their ovaries become useless.
RichardRich89 2 weeks ago
Where was this ran? I could defiantly see this being insulting. Could you imagine an ad during the time of segregation, suggesting blacks to be inferior? Using people who happen to be a constant subject of ridicule in an ad meant to ridicule is bad taste. How would people respond if an ad suggested Religious individuals were inferior to non-believers, they "choose" to believe in god, seems silly to outsiders. Same debate, no one laughs when they're the ones under attack. Be civil, people..

@GirliqueDownUnder The problem is they aren't 'pretending', and even they were, they'd be doing what makes them comfortable.
They don't need people to pray to God for them to realize their "masculine truth", they need people to respect them and not make what is already difficult, even harder.
uglymeanings 1 month ago
@GirliqueDownUnder Yep, females are born females. But that doesn't mean females won't be born females, but not in a body they dislike.
Do you really attribute your entire identity based on your genitalia?

@G2SLM Advertisements are media - media influences opinions and mindsets of people. I am fully supportive of trans* people, but as a young one I nowhere near understood it, because as always, the media treated them as a joke. This ad is nothing new, it's merely perpetuating what is already a problem.
uglymeanings 1 month ago
@uglymeanings Yes, and that problem is political correctness and a serious lack of a sense of humour.

@itchyundies The queer in the advert looks like he could of been a front row footballer or a weight lifter.

@xMaidenMistyx Because they expect the world to forcefully respect their political correctness bullshit.

Brilliant, Love it. Get a sense of humor people FFS, its just a funny ad. You should see the uproar this has caused in New Zealand, damn, what a country, no one here has any fucking sense of humor, we make the Germans look like comedians. Guess I cant say that either

I am a MtF transgender woman and I do find it quite offensive.
Please, tell me what makes a female? Personality? Body? Their hormones? Their genitals? Their mind? Their soul?
Because (most) transGENDER women who have gone through sexual reassignment surgery actually meet ALL of those requirements.
The whole point of transitioning is not to BECOME a woman. Its to make your physical appearance match who are inside.
So again, I ask, what makes a woman?
newgirlde 1 month ago 2
@newgirlde
(cont)
If its just the ability to give birth, then does that mean women who are sterile are not women?
And to the person commenting about sticking tampons up their asses, anyone who is actually transgendered would probably just keep them around to help with anyone snooping through their belongings to find out if they USED TO BE a guy.
To boot, you've also assumed that just because you are transgendered means that s/he is homosexual. That is a terrible mistake.

@newgirlde A (real) vagina.
Snazzzish 1 month ago
@Snazzzish
Though some transwomen have been able to.
newgirlde 1 month ago

TheOioink 1 month ago
@Hind1982 EXACTLY CORRECT. WOULDN'T MATTER HOW MANY HORMONES THEY TOOK OR CUT N TUCKS. STILL WILL NEVER BE FEMALES!!!!!!
TheOioink 1 month ago
@Hind1982
MeringueJ06 1 month ago 3
@Hind1982
MeringueJ06 1 month ago
@MeringueJ06
And thats the root of the problem!!! You can't state the obvious because someone somewhere may be offended. The fact of the matter is is that transwomen aren't women and they need to accept it and move on.
