I just sold an 05 Hemi Durango and I know it will do what is on this vid. I timed the vid a few months back and took mine out for a run and did the same speed 12 seconds sooner. The speedos on both are in KPH not MPH. If your Durango shakes a 100 MPH get the wheels balanced because I did and it was smooth as silk till it hit the 180 (factory set top end)

Isn't it called the speed governor? It just sets a max limit as how fast the fuel goes into the engine, hence the speed of the car. If I'm correct? It doesn't "cut" the engine or shut it off, it just doesn't go beyond a certain speed (120mph for most)

Quite simple... to keep people from driving too fast/do something to void your warranty(even though im sure they wouldn't mind the second part). Sure, sports cars shouldn't be speed limited as some people take them to a track like you should... but nobody drives a Durango on a track, and nobody wants to be around a big SUV doing triple digit speeds(at least MPH anyway).

ummm dude 5.9 is a 360 so im thinkin ur on drugs or something cuz the only hemi's they make know is the 5.7l witch is a 345ci block and a 6.1 witch is there new 395 hemi and they have been make a crate motor 426 big block hemi but they don't put those in stocks Suv's trucks or really any mopars and there is no 4.9l v8 but there is a 4.7l v8

2003 was the last year for 5.9l v8

but not for the inline6 witch was more powerful then any gas motor known until there new 6.7l inline6 came out in trucks

I have a 2004 HEMI durango and there's no doubt in my mind that without the limiter on (118 top) it'd be able to hit about 125- 130 minimum.

Except it IS a Durango gauge. This is the gauge for the current gen of Chrysler vehicles, and I've been around enough Dodges to know that. My dad's Dakota has this exact same cluster, as does my sister's Caravan. My Intrepid and my mom's Durango have the older style you're probably thinking of. The Durango is electronically limited to 115 mph, which is just past 180km/h. Please learn your facts before you comment.
