Good video and good project. If you have access to the audio from the Cambodian musicians it would be interesting to merge and then eventually have the Cambodian music come to the forefront.
Although I experienced no such tears, it pains me to think that I hadn't known about this tragic plight at the time I was in Cambodia for a service project.
However, I am glad someone is making an effort to spread awareness to the issue which ignorance does little to assuage.
I knew of the history of land mines in Cambodia but had not realized its depth and ongoing devastation. Thank you for linking me into this via flickr. Good work.
The title was a very good choice, and that immediately captured my attention. I thought the movie was a little short; I didnt really get a feeling of completion at the end. Other than that, it was superb. Great Job.
Your captions, although short and sweet, are great because they get your point across. Also, having statistics to back up your video make the video even better,so great job!
Well done on your project. The photos, videos, and stats were very powerful. Be sure to source some of the more startling information to empower the message.
This is definitely a worthwhile project; especially considering the children.
i loved the stats and the visual(esp the vid of the men playing for money.that's just.wow.)i also rly loved the color fading on the 2/10 children slide.
i kinda wanted to see more use of video devices, like contrasting speed, colors, sound, to really bombard the viewers and force us to be scared/sad/angry/want to help.after watching this, i was sad, but i wasn't all fired up to go do something.
Guys, that was really heartrending. I guess unles you go and visit, you really can't understand first-hand the suffering that these people - whom we label as 'backwards', 'third-world', or whatever - have to endure. And the apathy of us 'priveleged' people in our cushy lives is overwhelming.
Good job with the project, and I hope it continues to go well for you. God bless!
Oh, and perhaps you took it out of context. That number is the number of casualties that have occurred SINCE the Vietnam war. We aren't implying the source of all the land mines.
Ha ha. You're funny. Really. I like you. Actually, there were hundreds of thousands more casualties than that during the reign of Khmer Rouge. The figure we got is straight from the International Land Mine Monitor Report for 2006. That number is relating only to land mines and UXO. Now, you must have done that purposefully; accusing us of not getting our facts straight when, ironically, you have no idea what you're talking about.
I went to Cambodia over the summer and visited the children's homes, I've also seen those handicapped music players at the last part. It's terrible to see what wars can do to the helpless and innocent, especially since it occured because they happened to be next to each other. Short but informative video, that's wonderful. I hope it spreads out of the SAS ring and into the mainstream so other people could help Cambodia out.
the most important part of this project is education; internationally to be able to help, and locally so that Cambodians can help themselves by knowing which areas to avoid in order to avoid landmines and other unexploded ordinance.
Your video is fabulous! Not only does your song fit the video perfectly, but the combinations of the color of the text on your screens make it powerfull, but it doesn't take away from the pictures that speak for themselves. Congratulations you guys, I hope your video gets out there, and that change happens!
I think you guys did a really good job on this project. I was in MAP last semester and we did a similar project but instead creating our own video we used ones already made. I think this a great idea. Your topic was well researched and thought out. Great information, short, sweet and simple but it gets your point across. Props to you guys and to Mr. Adikson for entering the world of technology!
Great job guys. You guys did a great job with finding powerful photos and complimenting them with the choice of music. Nice work on editing too.
You definitely got some emotion from us.

Try getting your facts straight. 99 percent of these people are victims of their own past Pol Pot dictator.
