live 08 sucked so bad so i bought 2k9. theres no defense. after theres a triggered animation nothin will stop the player from finnishing the animation even though theres 5 players there. 2k has lots of moves and i like the shot stick but you have no control of wats going on. sure it has a good crowd and its presentation is good but its to repetitive and i want good gameplay. live has dna but that doesnt matter because i press layup and he wont do what i want him to. they both suck

By looking at many gameplay videos, it looks like nba live has better enviroments(stadium,crowd,cour­t,etc) but nba 2k9 has better looking players.

Nba live 09 looks like it will be better, but still looks like it has some of the same issues that made me not want to play it.

Nba 2k9, looks like they just tightened up a lot of things from 2k8. This is probably a good thing, as 2k8 had only a few gameply issue's. Will have to see if NBA 2k9 improved enough to keep its lead. My vote nba 2k9

the game is still glitchy for me not that smooth yet...but i really like live 04...they try so hard to buy 2k so they wont lose too...but 2k refused even though ea put so much money to buy them out...that shows how superior 2k is

well i played the demo...i really liked it when nba 2k9 wasnt showing anything...but now 2k9 has just improved...even though it doesnt have dna, quickstricke moves...or what ever....2k9 has nice play calling too...its just nba live 09 is just easy for me and i always play on superstar mode..its easy to shoot in the basket even with the new lockdown defense...its still easy...more like arcade for me...but if you like live then thats good for you...its just 2k is just more realistic...

Seriously the only thing they brought to the table is 365(which I thnk is a stupid idea) where it updates rosters,stats and tendencies daily. I'm all for up-to-date roster but the idea of updating stats based on cold or hot streaks is stupid. Also updating tendencies for players based on what they did in irl game is idiotic.

I agree w/ you. its 2k8 all over again. BUT Live 09 demo didn't show much though. I enjoyed the practice mode than the game itself. BUT 2k8 was good so they didn't bother changing much at all, which is sad. guess I'll be buying both this time. Coz 2k9 is a boob jobbed 2k8. and Live 09 has FIBA feature FTW!! and Be a Pro mode.
