  • 100 years today....... it is amazing how the world has changed and not for the better. God bless you Karl & Zita may you rest in peace for all eternity.

  • @MarieAnneElla I agree. Interesting, great quality movie.

  • wonderful what a glimpse of imperial history...and what a beloved emperor

  • 1911 ??? diese aufnahme ist 100 jahre alt o.O

    unglaublich.

  • Pariahs!!! All ''royalty'' are and were pariahs but, as long as they have the support of the royalty wannabe's they will keep on bloodsucking the peons and the ignorant. No wonder that Sissi got shot and killed, so did the Romanov , the Brits killed each other and French faggots got the ax. The best joke is that fag from Monaco descendant of pirates, who reigns over a piece of rock. There's too much stupidity and ignorance in the world.

  • Great video! Wow, it makes me cry when I see the little children marching...knowing most are long dead and gone.

  • @jfranklins huh?

  • @theintelligent1973 Are you an idiot or what? Don't you get it -- all the people are long dead and buried in this video. If not they are at least 100 years old or more. I guess to have compassion is something a poor ,lost, hard hearted fool like yourelf wouldn'y understand. People like you only see the royalty, the fancy wedding etc...while I see the ordinary people and wonder what their lives were like...how they lived, loved, and spent their lives.

  • @theintelligent1973 Oh and by the way, I'm very happy with my education you ignorant fool. "A fool says in his heart there is no God."

  • wow....thank you....btw..the dresses at that time...great...

  • @Malvina1987 Only ''royalty'' wore fine dresses at that time, the populace wore rags with holes and were starving to death. Get an education!!!

  • @theintelligent1973 get a clue...I ment exactly that dresses and not the clothes of the populace.......

  • Good quality!

  • Thank you for share this

  • A magnificent piece of film the best thing that I have seen on Youtube! You don't get such magnificence in a republic.

  • @amugen You have to be joking!!! This is the ''best'' you have seen?

  • They were standing at the end of an era, and they had no idea. Their world was about to be turned upside down forever.

  • Thanks for this video. Very touching.

Are the child running out the building is Louis of Bourbon-Parme, one the brothers of Zita? And is the curly-hair child looking around in the crowd is Gaetan of Bourbon-Parme, her youngest brother?

  • @fabianoasc - thanks fabiano!!! This video is a PEARL!!! LOVELY!

  • What an incredible piece of film, din;t know it existed. Wish i could have been there everything looked sooo pretty and calm, so elegant...love it

  • @vivianmendoza100 You wouldn't have been there, you don't belong in royalty unless you were/are related to them. Get real!!!

  • Karl looked somewhat ungainly but he and the stunning Zita were clearly enthralled with each other in spite of it being an arranged union! To think in just 11 years, the Empire would be dissolved and Zita would be a 29-year-old struggling pregnant widow having to provide for their 7 children. Yet, she'd live to 97 and see her children+ grandchildren prosperous.Living well is the best revenge!

  • Thank you - this is beautiful!! Did you see Franz Ferdinand smiling? So different from the popular portrayal of him!

  • @ChristinaCroft Well, isn't that SPECIAL!!!

  • Truly superb, the quality is stunning! It's like being there!! A rare jewel, thank you so very much for posting. These things make youtube a joy to use.

  • To think that in less then 10 years it would all be over. Truly a lost world. Maybe a better one too.

  • incedible Thank you!

  • Este video es una joya , antes de la 1ra guerra mundial.

  • @rayito2005 In this country we still speak and write English.

  • Those were the days. Amazing film. Thank you very much!

  • @lingustica Those were the days when a handful of inbred leeches took advantage of the peasants like you.

  • I like...

  • Faboulos

  • Fantastic...

  • Vielen, vielen Dank für dieses wunderbare Video!!!!!!!!!!

  • was this in the era of sissi ?

  • @kanwulfNL No; Sisi was murdered 13 years earlier in 1898.

  • @Dralcoffin ty very much for the answer

  • @kanwulfNL You're welcome. It's sad, since I would have loved to find video or audio of such an entracing woman.

  • @Dralcoffin aye indeed.. pardon me for another dumb question as i dont know nothing about this history.. Is this the kaiser from ww1 ?.

sisi was a beauty and interresting woman ... at least the things a have read about her

  • @kanwulfNL Kaiser is the German word for emperor, so there were two Kaisers, one Austrian, one German. The Kaiser associated with World War I is Wilhelm II, the German Emperor.

However, Franz Joseph lived into World War I, and Karl I was the Kaiser who saw the Austrian Empire collapse.

  • @Dralcoffin Ty again for your reply!

  • @kanwulfNL You haven't read very much.

  • @Dralcoffin Tell him/her WHY was she murdered.

  • @theintelligent1973 An Italian anarchist who wanted to shock the royal houses of Europe.

  • @kanwulfNL Franz Josep was Sisi's husband.

She died on September 10th 1898.

  • Fascinating ! The clarity is unbelievable. Like it was filmed yesterday ! Another world ,wasn't it. Beautiful, in some ways, and sad.

  • What an incredible video! Such a happy occasion - thank you so much for posting this :-)

  • really impressive!...i had no idea that such images existed.

  • Wow! Amazing!

  • Absolutely magnificent: unimaginable seeing Franz Jozef, Franz Ferdinand, Carl and Zita...thank you so much!

    It's wonderful to see

  • The man leaning forward to take a bouquet at 2.17 and on the left in the final moments is the Archduke Franz Ferdinand whose assassination was to spark the Great War.
