If he's biting you, I doubt he has anything wrong with him other than lack of socialization. Some hamsters can be nippy, and with dwarf hamsters, if they're not handled for a while, they will become wild again (unlike syrian hamsters that, once tame, are tame for life). I don't think a vet visit would change anything. Just try resocializing him to you in small steps.

Unless related, Dwarf Hamsters like to live alone, if not they will start biting and fighting all the time, almost until one dies. Get one as young as possible and handle it alot. I wish we had purchased a bigger cage to go with the smaller one the kids can carry around.

I had a problem like this with my two dwarf hamsters. So I bought a second wheel (I had them in a huge cage with a lot of room). What happened? They still fought over one wheel and ignored the other one. Kind of like "You can't have it because I want it". LOL!
