  • R.I.P speakers :( lol

  • Brings back memories of the last two Richmond Airshows!! F111 was past the camera before the sound hits like a sledge hammer!

  • im sorry to say that the pass shown is its idle speed ! it can hug the ground at mach 2.5 not bad for a 50 year old jet eh? oh also here in the 70s we had an airshow with f111's doing low 1/2 speeds -they broke all the glasshouses around for 20 km.

  • im sorry to say that the pass shown is its idle speed ! it can hug the ground at mach 2.5 not bad for a 40 year old jet eh?

  • That is loud

  • loud

  • Don't hate on the F-22 guys, most people know nothing about it because the U.S. Government keeps exact specifications secret.

  • are these the jets that they fly over sydney city on australia day every year?

  • The F1/11 was a lovely piece of machinery ,keep the wolfes of OZs door for 20 odd years, its highlight, flying below radar at high speed and can be armed with anything from conventional to WMDs.

  • Favorite airplane still, seen many of those back in the day at Cannon AFB NM "woot "428th Buccaneer's!

  • i love the f-111

  • that is crap compared to f22 ~

  • @Maxigery F-22s are way overrated. It is still a nice plane though, don't get me wrong.

  • @Maxigery its hardly a a fair comparison, this thing first flew in the 60's. 40 years later the f-22 can't match the payload, range and speed of this aircraft.

  • yep it is forsure an f-111 Aardvark fighter bomber USAF: F-111F - 1996; EF-111A - 1998

    RAAF: F-111C - 2010

  • that just broke my speakers

  • The F-111 was the plane the Russians feared the most, because it could travel at supersonic speeds at very low levels.

  • i had my speakers on high :(

  • @JVC7400 Maybe I should have said, "loud enough for you?" lol

  • That's not very fast for an F-onehundred and eleven, as the boys at the General Dynamics factory call them. I'd guess ....350 knots? Those things can go super-sonic on the deck!....while the pilot eats his sandwich. Magnificent aircraft.

  • @JetMechMA Civil aircraft are limited to 250knots below 10000 feet in New Zealand, I'd say they were going faster than that! Still impressive though. Very sad that the RAAF recently retired the entire fleet.

  • @SPQRTempus: Very sad that the RAAF recently retired the entire fleet.

JM: I was always glad to see the RAAF continuing to operate the F-111 even when the US retired them. It's the end of an era. Pity.

  • THE ARDVARK!

  • man those old airplanes from the 60's and whatnot have such louder engines it seems like.

  • my dad was an f-111 pilot. A RAAF pilot training with him in the 70's got one up to 1200 knots indicated in death valley california.

  • @covingtonium at what altitude?

  • It is an F-111, I thought no way at first too but I was thinking F-117 stealth when I seen F-111 and I also think everyone else was too.

  • if you dont think thats an f-111 you havent seen one before

  • Its a General Dynamics F-111C "Ardvark" which is a medium-range interdictor and tactical strike aircraft while also being a role of strategic bombing, recon., and electronic warfare. The Royal Australian Air Force(RAAF) was the last sole operator of the F-111, while the USAF replaced the F111 with the F-15E and B-1B the RAAF later replaced it with F/A-18F Super Hornets (in 2010). The aircraft is a swept-wing aircraft like the F-14, GR5 Tornado, etc. This is a F-111C "ardvark" for the final time.

  • Yes folks, that is a Gen/Dyn F-111, noise, smoke and all! That is goose-bump material. Brings back memories, thanks for posting this video. I worked as an NDT inspector on these in California at Mc Clellan AFB (SMALC) Also worked on the RAAF F- 111Cs there too.

  • I spent 21 months at Takhli RTAFB supporting these magnificent F-111's 1972-74.

  • Sorry non-beleivers...thats definitely an F-111 ardvark

  • wow. the f-14's look waaay better than this POS.

  • So go watch an F-14 video then. Why the fuck do you come to every F-111 video and say the exact same thing? Trolling, are we? Stick your Tomcat up your ass, and get a life, kid.

  • @sikorsky158 bash it in your arse...you wouldn't know a good looking profile if it placed a missile in your arse from 20 miles out

  • @sikorsky158 if it weren't for this plane, the F-111, yoou would never have your pussy cat..sorry..Tomcat

  • OK everyone. For the last time before I lock comments, this plane is a General Dynamics F-111. It is not a F-14, F-3/GR5 Tornado, Mig 23, Su 24 or any other swing wing fighter.

To the best of my knowledge none of those aircraft have ever been to New Zealand, which is where this film was taken.

  • @longbeachmustangkid Don't mind these idiots. It is an F-111.

  • 2 sonic booms at 0:07 and 0:08 sec

  • @jkukd dreamin?

  • lol thats not a f111

  • It is an F-111C of the Royal Australian Airforce, I cannot remember which Squadron its from, either No 1or No 6.

  • @SPQRTempus No6 Sqn. Based at Amberley. The F-111's have been replaced with F/A-18F's.

  • @EAFSQ9 Cheers mate, thanks for the correction.

  • @TheDragonslayer56 yes it is

  • @TheDragonslayer56 IS a 111

  • @TheDragonslayer56 ...well then , what the fuck is it??????????

  • The wings sweep back and forward in flight. It has a delta wing look when swept back.

  • @TheDragonslayer56

That most certainly *is* an F-111 ...lol...

  • @TheDragonslayer56 ha, wow. Open your eyes.

  • Awesome

  • Choice Bro. Thit wus Munt is

  • That's a brutal plane!

  • zoommm cool posting

  • Why yes, that was fast enough for me. Awesome vid and aircraft!
