pink floyd actually has more talent than the stones because they experimented with many different styles ranging from psychedelia to folk to just plain weird but awesome music the stones experimented a little but i guess gave in to the musical demand of "fun music" but i would go with pink floyd by far

Pink Floyd for some reason is the only classic rock group I never really like, I use to try to listen to their music, but never liked any of their songs except "Another Brick In The Wall" that one was okay, but my obvious choice then for this is the Stones, one of my favorite bands.

First off, you can't compare these bands. Even though they are both classic rock, they are completely different styles. Pink Floyd though was more revolutionary than the Rolling Stones, trying different things and had incredible music to drive deep lyrics. The Rolling Stones were a Beatles knock-off. Floyd Wins!!

I love both bands to death. But I'm gonna have to go Rolling Stones for this one. I've known them longer and I just got Dark Side of the Moon so I don't know much about the Floyd yet. I've known about the Stones since I was 4 and have loved them fanatically since. But for clarity of albums Pink Floyd takes the cake. I don't have a favorite Stones album because I love all of those songs. But I do have a favorite Floyd album and that would be Dark Side.

Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones have never really connected in my head so its hard to compare. But if I had to pick from the two I would 100% go with Pink Floyd they are just an all around more original and talented band. Rolling Stones are more pop rock like the Beatles or The Kinks Floyd is their own thing.

In the Total Eclipse 4 disc collection, Nick Mason says that 'record' was f**king awful. He states in quotes that the Floyd had no clear direction at this point and the label had wanted this as a single in the charts, though the Floyd were not happy. I love the song, TBH. The line was originally The Evening Standard, but because that was an actual paper, they were forced to change the line to Daily.

You cannot really cannot compare the music of the stones or floyd. So different. Stones more straight rock, floyd more experimental. The only way these two are comparable is in their country of origin is that they are both English bands and they are probably two of the biggest bands of the last 40 years. Musically speaking, they are worlds apart.

Classic? Not really, it's more JAZZ being what you are looking for in terms of influence, however, they never shunned blues...but the Stones LOVED the blues and that is the basis of their being. Read Nick Mason's book, BTW

I strongly disagree. For me it's Stones over the Beatles ANY day of the week and Pink Floyd over the Stones in the same manner...however, Both the Stones AND the Who are equally important as well as Led Zeppelin in the way EACH of those bands took blues and moved them into the electric ROCK era!! They deserve eternal praise from rock fans. If you are appreciative of Prog rock, as I am too, Yes, PF, and Rush could be considered heavy weights among those artists
