I was introduced to Laugh-In when Nick-at-Nite aired this in the late-80s/early 90s. Since I was in the fifth grade at the time, all the jokes went over my head :)

Goldie is a comedic genius. Through daftness her brilliance shines through just enough to end up making you feel lightheaded & dizzy. Her often nonstop laughter seems so uncontrollable, yet she can stop on a dime to drop impeccable lines. Her timing is so amazing, as good as any actor ever. I never thought, she is dumb. She is a great con, a magician, a performance artist. She is being as acting as being as acting. A whirl of a girl, a woman on top of her game, a fire that burns a bright light.

No, I never discoverd the victim's identity...and I find no evidence on any Laugh-In websites. But I believe my friend, a TV audio man (not on this show), who told me back in the 80s. One piece of odd evidence may be that at the close of at least 1 syndicated show, a person's face is blurred out and obviously edited. But why? Perhaps her family is still suppressing the memory; who knows.

I'm surprised that no one recalls how Goldie got the job on Laugh-In...it's not mentioned anywhere on the net. The original actress (soon forgotten) was tragically killed after only the first few episodes and it was kept hush-hush in the news. That's when Goldie came in 1 month after the show was on air.
