Just ordered one of her books can't wait to read it. She seems such a beautiful, wise and spiritual woman. "Instead of running away - touch in" can so relate to that. Interesting Post.
The Secret does work, as our mind creates the things that we experience. It works better, if we release the obstacles to getting what we want.
It's fair enough. But, It isn't a path to liberation - the complete, permanent end of suffering. Turning towards fear, attachment, confusion, hatred, and all the rest of it, amd piercing through it, with kindness, is a path to liberation.
This method of just observing the thoughts and emotions there after is common technique of Vipassana meditation which is about just remaining as awarness basically and becoming acknowledged that this too will change.this gives the mind a firm foundation eventually to work from. like duck landing in water will have a easier time getting to flight from on still surface then raging waves thus waiting settles the distractions to see/feel/know clearly
The report seeks to pit two ideas as being opposed to each other. But doesn't The Secret also talk about the idea that the conditioning we put on our thoughts and emotions (stories) escalates our negativity? That's how I've come to understand Pema and The Secret, and even What The Bleep - that our emotions and reactions to the world work together to build our reality. "unhappy? investigate!" Everyone from Socrates to Big Bird can get on board with that.

There is suffering! That's what the Budha said. There can't be any true way that does not aknowledge that.
