Sony has nothing to do with Fraud claims, that is the Credit bureau and governments--plus you are protected by your bank. All Sony can do is re insure that there system isn't hacked again and protect your information next time. Cancel your card will stop all issues with that account.
Its a BS rumour. Nobody has your 3 digit security code, Sony didnt even ask for it. Tho yes, very likely your name, address, zip code and PSN details including gaming tag and password have been compromised. If you use the same name and password for anything else, change it ASAP. Especially your email. But when PSN is up and running its going to be mandatory to change your old password to a new one before you can do anything. No password change means no online, so everyone has to do it.
@suiton629 that makes this matter worse than it really is. Because if the world is being affected by this it just might start a all out war. If your say 75 million are PSN user than SONY in TROUBLE!!!!
@TheReal1Talk That's not Sony problem, its your bank problem... your card is with your bank not Sony, Sony has no power in that field at all--unless its a Sonystyles credit card.
@TheReal1Talk Oh and before you ask me where I got that 72.8 million.. There are about 75 million PSN users world wide, and this incident affected all PSN users on a global scale. MSN is just too stupid and only thinks this issue only is a problem in the US.
@TheReal1Talk Just to be extra safe (besides getting a new card and contacting my bank about this), I changed my password to the places I shop at most of the time, my online bank, and my email. =) I've also heard rumors about how hackers were now targetting XBLA. Be careful man. There are some shady ass bastards on the Internet that need to get arrested by the FBI and stuff. They don't deserve to be living free.
@TheReal1Talk Hm. Well I think MSNBC is sorely mistaken by about 72.8 million people.. ROFL. But the point is still true. This is out of hand and Sony isn't taking responsibility. To take measure, I got a new card (just in the mail actually) with a new number and I contacted my bank a few times to alert them of this incident. Sony won't deal with this quickly unfortunately. I mean look at how long it took them to admit that our info might have been compromised... 6 days!! That's screwed up.
