this song is for john but also for any anarchists that have gave their lives for what they believed in.one man says to another man what are you doing, man replies i am watching the flag moving, the other man says it is not the flag moving it is the wind. crass the group that told me this.
Fantastic video by a fantastic band led by a guy with a fantastic voice. I hate the way these guys were screwed over by the music business. John Grant's voice is a priceless gift to this world.
it's almost complete. it will be called The Queen Of Denmark and it's quite astonishing. Midlake have indeed been playing and producing it with John down in Denton. I was there recently and heard most of what theyve done. We (Bella Union) will release it either late this year or early next. Thats our next phase in screwing them over. ; /
were originally backed by Simon Raymonde, ex-Cocteau Twins, good live, friendly too, they all signed the CD of theirs I had :O) Where is the blonde girl??
J'adore ce groupe. C'est dommage qu'il soit peu connu mais d'un autre côté cela me donne l'impression d'être plus proche de la subtilité de leurs chansons.
A great version of this hauntingly beautiful song. John Grant is a great songwriter and a fine singer too.

Notice the wink and the half-cocked smile of the Bella Union post? It's as if it's a friggin' game playing with artists. That's very telling.
I believe they have totally fucked this artist over, and I also hope they get what's coming to them..

Any info on John Grant's upcoming album? The band Midlake is supposed to be helping him out. Can't wait.

Then--as I said in another post--I hope Raymonde gets what's coming to him for doing that.

Saw at Barfly Bristol around the time of Goodbye album,
a magical band sadly missed. An example of how the music biz gets it wrong, should have been massive.
