Thanks for the info the technique I have been using so far getting harmonics is after i pick the string I graze the edge of my thumb against the strings right after the string is picked but it doesn't seem as effective as the way dimebag does his harmonics and he was definatly the master of harmonics for sure!

@Bat362011 it all comes down to technique and practice rather than equipment..I'm using a Floyd Rose equipped guitar running through a Digitech Metal Master pedal straight into a Fender 25r amp and I was able to pull a few harmonics after practicing it for about an hour.
