  • your facts are wrong, instead of saying "good sources of carbs" you should've have place "foods low on sugar" because oats and brown rice are low in sugar thus giving minimal amounts of carbs. Whole wheat bread is also low on sugar, meaning they are low in carbohydrates, carbohydrates make you fat.

  • @KoolitPnoi Wow you should do some research.Foods like brown rice and whole wheat are great sources of complex carbs. Carbohydrates are your body's primary source of energy, you don't carbs you will NOT grow The carbs that you suggest make you fat are simple carbs (white rice, white bread etc.). The difference between the two is that complex carbs digest slower than simple ones, giving you a slow constant release of energy and pretty much keeps you full longer. NOT USING THAT ENERGY= FATASS ;p

  • Broccoli only has 1 gram of protein per cup. That isn't much. Most fruits and vegetables have less than that. Nuts, beans and grains have more.

  • @john17972 it says 2.82 grams per 100g thats alot since u can eat like 300 g of broccoli and get like 8.5 g of protein. and i think broccoli is a complete protein

  • @thunderheart226 Don't rely on vegetable protein for your protein source. Animal protein (meat, eggs, fish, poultry, etc...) and whey protein shakes are the only way to go.

  • @zume2600 you do realize these animals rely on veg protein. cows dont eat meat. im a vegetarian and i get about 60-80 grams aday. mostly from lentil soups,wheat peanut butta.sometimes whey. all vegs have protein it may lack abundance of 1 amino acid but if u eat throughout the day it will add up.you wont lack lysine or w/e is missing

  • @zume2600 unless ur a body builder thats a waste.ur body must pee it out unless u look like ronnie coleman which i doubt. a normal human needs only 50 a day. i go to the gym 3 times a week so i need about 80+. if ur eating 200g protein with meat a day then ur getting a lot of fat and cholesterol thats over doing thats not even moderation unless ur bigger than hulk hogan or more active than Michael phelps thats a waste of protein.

  • @thunderheart226 wrong...i get about 100 grams a day from whole foods and a hundred from protein shakes, I work out 5-6 days a week. and the formula for someone lifting to increase their muscle mass is, on average, 1g of protein per 1 pound of body weight daily. this is nothing new. and there are plenty of studies proving that an active person can easily consume and utilize this much protein to build quality, lean muscle. oh, and i don't even eat red meat so, sorry, but i am not concerned...

  • @zume2600 did u even read what i wrote?i said unless ur active like phelps(not literally but active all week) its a waste and i even said i need about 80+ because im active too i go to the gym like 3-4 times a week. red meat isnt the only bad one... u said "I get 200 plus grams a day...from animals."now ur saying 1/2 are whole foods ill assume egg whites oatmeal and meat.....i do have the facts in order i know what proteins are. u just didnt understand my comment it seems.

  • @zume2600 (continued) ur original statement was vegetarian protein was inferior. the problem is none eats only vegetables.1 cup of brocolli isnt 1g of protein its about 3-5 when cooked.same thing with spinach and thats like 10g right there. plus no human eats only vegetables soy lentis wheat are all good sources of protein plus i got body builders telling me whey shakes are useless if u already eat the right foods.like steve turano here on YT

  • @zume2600 i didnt say useless.. i said useless if u already TAKE in those nutrients via food . did u even look at steve turanos video. hes a big guy doesn't use powders. lifting heavy and eating all the key nutrients builds muscle. whey isnt a magic elixir. yea it works but so does FOOD. ill send u the link

Immediately following an intense workout your body only has a small window in which it is at it's maximum anabolic state before returning to it's normal catabolic one.   • @thunderheart226 ...body is still in this highly efficient anabolic state. now you tell me if you eat a whole chicken breast immediately after working out do you really think your body will digest it completely before becoming catabolic again? no. whole food protein (even from vegetables) is excellent throughout the course of the day, but immediately after a workout you arent going to see the benefits you would from drinking a protein shake. i didn't want to have to school you, but u asked 4 it.

  • a large proportion of the asian world eat white rice, yet they still remain skinny... so i don't think it makes you fat.. lol brown rice just contains more fibre and nutrients
