Iv done all the cleaning and re-assembled it, but for some reason there seems to be no pressure when I push the primer button...you can hear the air go through it, and both hoses are connected, but it dosntpull anything through it....an ideas??? thanks in advance!~
Sounds like the governor needed to be adjusted, it revved a little high. It seems like its the governor and not the throttle screw because it didn't sound like it tried to go back down when it revved high.
I doubt you know but maybe you do. I unfortunately pulled out the rubber tube that comes from the OHV cover on my Tecumseh OH195SA 72568G while trying to just see how everything works and I am wondering if you know if the lower half of the rubber tube connects to some type of oil pump or if its left open to the atmosphere.
I am willing to bet it connects to an oil pump but I am hoping it is just left open to the atmosphere because I don't feel like breaking it down more to figure out where it goes. (I can't find any diagrams of motor unfortunately as well)

where can i order a totally new carb kit with the bowl, needle, gaskets, everything. iv looked ALL over the internet and cant find anything, can you give me a link? thanks !
@donyboy73 what specs are you looking for,i dont have numbers on the sticker they wore off,all i can do is compiare, and it looks like this carb but older,no lever to make throttle go up or down,,,,y muffler gets red hot and thinking about rebuilding the carb?thanks
EXCELLENT how-to video!!! I followed everything to a "T" and my carb looks great, problem now is that when i press the primer repeatedly, i'm not getting any gas in, just air and the machine wont start. any ideas?
@donyboy73 Hi dony, thanks for your reply - the fuel valve is on and I turned the screw 1.5 times as per your video instructions. the bowl has fuel in it (i have the carb with the purge button, so i know there's fuel from the tank; new gas and when i put a small amount of fuel in the plug chamber, it starts, however only as long as it burns the fuel i put in (new plug by the way)...please help...... :-)
@donyboy73 thanks very much for your responses!!! I think I'll have to take it in to the local small engine guy. Appreciate your help!! Have you encountered something like this before?
@AndrewA12A Did you ever find out what was causing your problem? I'm dealing with the exact same thing. There's fuel in the cup but it doesn't turn over. But will run if put a little in where the plug goes, then dies. I don't understand.
@13R1CK4 it sounds like your jets are plugged try carb cleaner and take a sewing needle and shove it gently though all the jets this should help.i trash-picked a power washer that was neglected with the same problem ,now i have a free good working pressure washer!
@gokartbuyer I actually did eventually get this thing working. It was the jets, they were a little different then in this video. I had to clean the carb a second time, but now it starts in one pull. I got this for free and it's like brand new now. thanks for the input.
I have never messed with any small gas engine's in my life. I live in Minnesota where the winters are bad. My neighbor bought a new snowblower and gave me his old one and said it didn't work. I did EXACTLY what you showed in the video and now it runs like a top. Thank-you for saving me this coming up winter.
Adjusted idle screw 1 full turn out and main jet screw (bottom of bowl) 1 ½ turns out. At full throttle the engine is racing. Choke off races faster, backed off governor screw made little difference. Can I adjust the main jet (too lean or too rich) and which way? Any suggestions? Thanks.
usually when it does this you have to back off the small governor screw on the throttle bracket. on older engines it is a flat screw and on newer a small torx.
hi i was wondering if you could help me out. i have a 10 hp tecumseh motor on a go kart. i bought it from this guy that said the only thing that was wrong with it was that the silver pipe conected to the carburater was cracked. so i replaced it. now i put in new gas and oil. i clean part of the carburator. for some reason it wont start. i got it runnin with starterfluid, foot on the gas and som1 pulls the cord. then ass soon as ur foot is off the gas it stalls. so i cant get it startedor to idle

@AndrewA12A the primer just blows air in, make sure the fuel valve is on at the fuel tank, turn bottom screw out 1 1/2 turns out
