good video, i probably should of read the description 'careful not to bend anything'! one of the screws heads on the heat sink was broken so i bent it to get the fan out and now the computer keeps crashing.. is this serious or easy to fix?
it hard to diagnose any problem just by online response, need to look and check it in real... but if I in yr shoe, I'll first check power or battery connection, since now my vaio power connector intermintent and battery dead (waiting new battery bought from china). So sometime it hard to start up or many times my vaio suddently off power... also waiting spare parts (bought power connector and charging tips).
hello mate, great video have followed your guide to put my laptop back together was working before but now dosnt turn on, the lights come on briefly when i press the on button but computer doesnt turn on.
any ideas about this? i disasembled everthing, made sure the small earth cables are coneected, checked the proccessor was in properly and all seems to be fine. im stumped.
I own the 2002 vintage K23/25. Has DDR Ram and P4 2.9 normally, integrated ATI IGP chipset, it shut down randomly all the time, and after awhile would not boot at all, thanks to eBay, new motherboard for a reasonable sum. I would advise a cooling pad, mine has ZERO DUST and the fan sounds horrible regardless, running at various speeds throughout operations., Sounds like it's worn. There are two fans on one heat sink for my series
wow! i worked :D

Where would I be able to purchase the supplies for me to do this process? Any recommended stores or brands?

Brilliant . This fixed my laptop for a total cost of 8$ (thermal paste) instead of the 240$ quoted by Sony
