you know if you get one of those rockband USB mics, plug it into a pc/laptop and use audacity to record the sound with it, placing the mic about 3 feet from the drums, mic facing the bass drum, you'll get a very good sound out of it, which you can use with your drum covers then, instead of the camera mic sound.
