@adventure4567 Sailor Moon was an huge impact on the magical Girl Genre. But It was not the first Manga or Anime to have an object to transform. Akazukin Chacha, the heroine had a necklace to transform(and also a bracelet and a ring which were worn by her friends) and this was made in the 1991. While Sailor Moon was made in the 1992 so Sailor Moon never started the idea.
But really, she doesn't need to. She's transformed while she was standing still before in season 1 (she gets the legit transformation sequence in season 2)
@XxDiaChanxX The reason Maron jumps down from a building to transform in her 1st Jeanne self was because Arina Tanemura's story was based on Joan of Arc.
As such, Jeanne D'arc jumped from a very high building after the English captured her at a battle as it was prophetsed. Jeanne wanted to escape and her angels were telling her not to jump but she did anyway. The fall did not kill Jeanne or anything because her angels protected her. In KKJ, Tanemura did a miracle transformation jump.
@missmuggledetector Saint Tail was way too 'sweet' for me... didn't like it that much I liked KKJ better, as it was darker and I could relate with the characters. I wouldn't call it a rip-off though... the similarities are in the thief thing and christian references. Plot and characters are really different imo =)
@xImperfectRomance Personally, I prefer the innocence that Saint Tail had..I feel that the author of KKJ rather sucks nowadays to be honest. Her art is too similar and the stories and characters are annoying.I liked Full Moon wo Sagashite though. If you want a fantastic magical girls anime that's really dar, check out Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Only came out this year but it really deconstructs the magical girl theme *giggles evily*
@missmuggledetector Fullmoon was awesome, but I think the animation style in the anime is really ugly... I dunno, it looks weird. Arina's manga art is beautiful, but all looks the same indeed. And I really wish I had the time to watch that anime, it seems so awesome and I heard so much about it. The only magical girl with a darker storyline that I have come acroos (and loved) was Mai HiME and that was a shounen, so not girly at all xD
@xImperfectRomance Haha, I agree with the ugly anime part. It was awful. I'm okay with her artstyle, though it's a little "overdone" sometimes. Another style that doesn't look good as an anime is Nana's or the Paradise Kiss style both by the same author. But on the other hand, even the manga art takes some getting used to xD Mai Hime was good. I think in the early 2000's they were just getting into the more sleek looking anime, which is why it looks so shiny and nasty lol.
@missmuggledetector I love NANA's artstyle in manga but it took some time to get used to in the anime. So many series have bad animation... a lot of magical girl series animation isn't that great (Mermaid Melody, Tokyo Mew Mew etc) while the manga versions usually have pretty art (I honestly love the manga drawings for Mermaid Melody).
@xImperfectRomance At first I hated how anorexic everyone looked in Nana, but then I grew to like how stylish it is and I love the manga. I despise Mermaid Melody and Tokyo Mew Mew...But especially the latter. I think a reason those two art styles weren't good as well, is because they were made in the early 2000's and the "change" from 90's style animation was apparent. It's just too shiny and badly colored. Sort of "plastic".

her second transformation is the best so far among the anime i have seen, well only if they used some clothes for her in the begining, when i was small i though it was bad as in cause she didnt had clothes on, but well now when i watch it, it doesnt seem to be so bothersome anymore XDD !!

@BenHutchinson1 Actually, I didn't. There is plenty of proof out there that baptism was done 1st in the nude.
It was only later Christian attitudes to nudity became less tolerant, and baptisms were segregated by sex and then later were usually performed with clothed participants.
However, some of the Eastern Orthodox churches today still maintain the early church's liturgical use of baptism nudity, particularly for infants but also for adults.
I just want to added that Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne nakedness is more then just a symbol of purity, it represents her pure innocents, faith in humanity, and god.

Trust me when I say that I'm an anime fan, and as such I watch lots of anime, but since I'm a Christian and don't approve of nudity my copy of Windows Movie Maker has gotten a quite a "workout" over the years, as I try to clean up or remove any bad scenes in almost every anime I've watched. A few are good as-is, but that's VERY RARE. And several more have been brought to the US and aired on Fox-Kids or Cartoon Network so have already been censored if they needed to be. I get torrents of these.

Humans didn't need clothes when there were only 2 people in the whole world, Adam and Eve. Now there's more people, ALOT more. For the sake of modesty and keeping others from thinking impure thoughts us, we all must be clothed now. That's why Christ himself used the word "shameful" to describe nakedness.

I love anime for the awesome plots, battles, and special effects. But I do NOT like the fact that too many animes have nudity in them, even the ones that aren't supposedly "adult" or "hentai" animes.

And for the record, I find all so called "nude art" such as the naked women in many of those very old painting and statues to be sinful. I'm not sexest either. My criticism' cuts both ways. I feel it's JUST as sinful for males in such paintings and scuptures to be nude as I do if the naked person is female. So yes that famous naked David statue is also a sin. And not every anime has nudity in transformations. Watch "Power Puff Girls Z". No nudity in that. I've also seen the Fox-Kids edited version of Tokyo Mew Mew, called Mew Mew Power. The nudity was quite effectively censored in those transformations. And in Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne that I have I censored it myself.

no, she transforms in almost all episodes, but the transformations are the same. first part of the series she does the first one and second part the other one.
I think Maron's second transformation has got to be the prettiest transformation in any anime. I love the soft yet powerful sounding music, the water, her very detailed angel wings, her hair and the way those angels surround her. It suits her so well.
Best transformation ever (maybe not "prettiest") was her first one. The coolest hero-team transformation ever was in the final episode of Power Rangers in Space. They said "Lets rocket!" ,and INSTANTLY their regular civilian clothes were replaced by their power suits! Epic cool that series was. And it wasn't even an anime!

I love the first one, because that cool pink energy comes in and looks cool. I don't like the second one. In fact, I hate it because it leaves her nude. I like Sailor Moon transformations better than Jeanne's second transformation, because at least the Sailor Scouts are ALWAYS in shadow (silhouette) during the part of the transformation in which they woulod be nude (at least in Sailor Moon, season 1). I mean it makes sense to have nudity in hentai, but WHY OH WHY have nudity in REGULAR anime?
i think its because when u transform u have to take all ur clothes off to get the new clothes on. i do agree they should have some kind of silhouette but this is japan not america. things are different over there. i dont mind the nudity my self .
Yeah, except in Japanese adult manga they always censor private parts, even if the manga is clearly labeled as 18+. They're actually far more strict about it than we are in the States.

No you don't have to. The Power Rangers don't have that naked inbetween phase. Their regular clothes are INSTANTLY switched with their superhero costumes thanks to their powers. Jeanne has powers so why can't SHE do an instant costume switch type of transformation?
@BenHutchinson1 Because in Japan, nudity is symbol of purity. Jeanne must be a virgin for her powers to work and being naked represents that. It just means she's chaste or whatever you'd to call it. When you see someone naked in Japanese anime, they're not selling sex like the North Americans do in show biz but the Japanese are representing the symbol of purity in young girls.
And that makes it even worse. By legal definition child nudity = CP = A CRIME! I don't care what they say about purity crap. Showing off the body is a sexual gesture IN ITSELF, and being naked in the presense of others DEPURIFIES a person. ANY nude scenes in anime I edit out with Windows Movie Maker. Nudity may = purity in Japan, but in the US, the West in general, and probably most of the rest of the world it = sexuality.

The first one kinda makes sense due to the meaning of Kamikaze (Suicidal pilot basically...) And she jumped off a building to transform....

Jesus was not only naked on the cross, but he also left his linen clothes lying there after his resurection.
If it is really wrong to be seen nude, why would Jesus be hanging around naked fisherman who "stripped for work" (Jn 21:7) Shouldn't Jesus have spoken up and said they were being sinful?
And what about the Church's custom to baptize men, women, and children together in the nude?

@BenHutchinson1 Actually, I didn't. There is plenty of proof out there that baptism was done 1st in the nude.
It was only later Christian attitudes to nudity became less tolerant, and baptisms were segregated by sex and then later were usually performed with clothed participants.
However, some of the Eastern Orthodox churches today still maintain the early church's liturgical use of baptism nudity, particularly for infants but also for adults.

They must have at some point in there life done SOMETHING (even if small) wrong. Maybe disobeyed their parents once. Even if it represents purity and goodness, it can't represent COMPLETE sinlessness, as they aren't sinless. Nobody is. The Bible says that.

Trust me when I say that I'm an anime fan, and as such I watch lots of anime, but since I'm a Christian and don't approve of nudity my copy of Windows Movie Maker has gotten a quite a "workout" over the years, as I try to clean up or remove any bad scenes in almost every anime I've watched. A few are good as-is, but that's VERY RARE. And several more have been brought to the US and aired on Fox-Kids or Cartoon Network so have already been censored if they needed to be. I get torrents of these.

God never said nudity is bad. In fact, God was disappointed at Adam's excuse about needing clothes. God asked: "Who told you you were naked?" Clothes were created for man's mental comfort, thinking he could hide from sin, and were not for God's benefit, but mans.
At the last supper last supper, according to John 13:4-5, Jesus himself was undressed at some point.

God commanded Isaiah to go naked & barefoot for three years. King David danced naked to celebrate the return of the Ark. When his wife Michal criticized his dancing nude, she was punished by God to be childless until her death. (II Samuel 6:20-23).
When God create man, the lord said it was good. If God thought nudity was bad, the lord would have created Adam with clothes.

Japan is just a country full of sex addicts, thus the crazy amount of nudity in shows that could be told JUST AS effectively with clothed characters.
I love anime for the awesome plots, battles, and special effects. But I do NOT like the fact that too many animes have nudity in them, even the ones that aren't supposedly "adult" or "hentai" animes.

And for the record, I find all so called "nude art" such as the naked women in many of those very old painting and statues to be sinful. I'm not sexest either. My criticism' cuts both ways. I feel it's JUST as sinful for males in such paintings and scuptures to be nude as I do if the naked person is female. So yes that famous naked David statue is also a sin. The name of the statue is just "David" if I'm right, though I prefer to call it "the largest piece of pornography in the world".

That's right Jesus NEVER said nakedness or nudity was pure. He never used the word beautiful to describe it either. The one word he DID use was "shameful". To WILLINGLY do something shameful like to strip, or use nudity for ANY means of entertainment like movies, anime, TV, etc, is therefore nothing but sinful. I don't know about you, but I think sin is something to avoid and stay away from.

Know why the Japanese like to have anime with naked pure bodies? Because they are perves and sex adicts and to them thinking of "naked pure bodies" turns them on.
And one other reason I don't like nudity used ESPECIALLY the way it is in anime, is because it represents the person becoming one with nature to power up their magic level to kick enemy ass. What's wrong with it is that you claim to be a Christian, yet you CHOOSE to watch the sexual immorality of nudity, and BRAG about it. That's what's wrong.
And not every anime has nudity in transformations. Watch "Power Puff Girls Z". No nudity in that. I've also seen the Fox-Kids edited version of Tokyo Mew Mew, called Mew Mew Power. The nudity was quite effectively censored in those transformations. And in Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne that I have I censored it myself.

I think Maron's second transformation has got to be the prettiest transformation in any anime. I love the soft yet powerful sounding music, the water, her very detailed angel wings, her hair and the way those angels surround her. It suits her so well.

Best transformation ever (maybe not "prettiest") was her first one. The coolest hero-team transformation ever was in the final episode of Power Rangers in Space. They said "Lets rocket!" ,and INSTANTLY their regular civilian clothes were replaced by their power suits! Epic cool that series was. And it wasn't even an anime!

I love the first one, because that cool pink energy comes in and looks cool. I don't like the second one. In fact, I hate it because it leaves her nude. I like Sailor Moon transformations better than Jeanne's second transformation, because at least the Sailor Scouts are ALWAYS in shadow (silhouette) during the part of the transformation in which they woulod be nude (at least in Sailor Moon, season 1). I mean it makes sense to have nudity in hentai, but WHY OH WHY have nudity in REGULAR anime?

No you don't have to. The Power Rangers don't have that naked inbetween phase. Their regular clothes are INSTANTLY switched with their superhero costumes thanks to their powers. Jeanne has powers so why can't SHE do an instant costume switch type of transformation?

@BenHutchinson1 Because in Japan, nudity is symbol of purity. Jeanne must be a virgin for her powers to work and being naked represents that. It just means she's chaste or whatever you'd to call it. When you see someone naked in Japanese anime, they're not selling sex like the North Americans do in show biz but the Japanese are representing the symbol of purity in young girls.

And that makes it even worse. By legal definition child nudity = CP = A CRIME! I don't care what they say about purity crap. Showing off the body is a sexual gesture IN ITSELF, and being naked in the presense of others DEPURIFIES a person. ANY nude scenes in anime I edit out with Windows Movie Maker. Nudity may = purity in Japan, but in the US, the West in general, and probably most of the rest of the world it = sexuality.
