  • Thank you soooo much for sharing this videos.your sweet Nina is sooooo cute, smart and precious.innocence of a child I so awesome. Background music is so appropriate. We lived in Egypt when my children were small, and had some wonderful experiences, wish we did more videos. You and Nina will treasure this as she grows up. All the best to your family,Good bless .

  • No Reservations new host: NINA!

  • love it, everyone would like to have a family vacation as sweet as that!

  • LOL "you've found me already?" :D

  • Oh my goodness what in the world was on her Ice cream???? she went bananas!! haha she's too cute!!.... and no more Ice cream for Nina!!

  • @Tatstube77 Yeah, we've learned to watch her sugar intake, especially with ice cream.

  • the song she sang at the beach is it really a song or she made it up?

  • @nami8815 She just made it up.

  • aww Nina is sooo cute :) you truly do have a beautiful little girl :P and Japan wow! i have always wanted to go there ever since i was little. And i am very into the culture. but everyone keeps telling me that if you are an American, then they might not treat you kindly :( but i am still going for my dream to go visit and hopefully live there :)

    Kayla, 15

  • @KBREEZY6195 I've never experienced negativity here for being American. If you have the chance, definitely give Japan a visit!

  • Is there some alcohol in an ice-cream?? hahaaaaaa

Anyway, she's so so so cute and smartttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt :)

    from Thai fan

  • @paangz I think sugar is like alcohol for Nina.

  • What IceCream you feeding to Nina? LOL

  • You've took awesome pictures sir! What camera r u using for photography?

  • she's cuteee

  • hey man, what is the background music? you r always putting a nice background musics for ninas videos. it seems like having a good taste in music also affects you to become a great father and brings luck to have a wonderful daughter like nina. lol

  • ha ha Thanks! I suppose the music I choose does reflect my personality. I put the title for that song in the notes for the video. It is from Jamendo so I can use it without worrying about copyright issues. I had never heard of the band before.

  • ha ha Thanks! I suppose the music I choose does reflect my personality. I put the title for that song in the notes for the video. It is from Jamendo so I can use it without worrying about copyright issues. I had never heard of the band before.

  • hello!nice watching the video of nina,my kids always watching it.thanks for sharing us your video..

  • is she always farting? hahaha! if theres anyone that could make farting cute, thats nina!

    anyway, another indonesian fan. :)

  • Ha ha. Yes, she does seem to fart a lot. Maybe it's because she eats so much.

  • LOL! Sugar FTW! ^-^

  • what part of japan do you live in?

  • So, where do you live now? Your message said Hokkaido, your profile says Osaka, and your other message said you would move here when you're older. I'm confused! Ha ha.

Anyway, we live in the Tokai area.

  • hah sorry about that , I meant i would mvoe most likely to where you guys were because the beach and scenerey was really pretty (forgot to put that in) and yes i live in hokkaido , (i just put osaka because ifor security haha . liek i didnt put my real place where i live ) but now i guess id have to change it because now everyone sees this comment >.> haha .

but hopefully i can go to tokai when im older, im only 14 now so yeah :P

  • Sorry to expose where you live! Ha ha. I've never been to Hokkaido, but would love to go there. There are too many people on Honshu. But, I think the Winters in Hokkaido would be too long for me. I can see why a young person would want to move to Honshu.

  • I have always been fascinated by the Japanese culture and foods. Even though, I speak three languages, I think that the Japanese language is one of the toughest to learn and your grasp of the language is quite impressive. Do you think that the Japanese has embraced you as one of theirs or do you still feel as a foreigner?

Thank you for your videos of the beach, felt nostalgic as it reminded me of my own country...a tiny island in the indian ocean with far reaching white sands and blue sea.

  • Wow, "a tiny island in the Indian Ocean with far reaching white sands and blue sea" sounds like a wonderful country to grow up in! So, you live somewhere else now?

As for your question, no, I don't feel like I am treated in the same way as other Japanese here. People are always friendly and accepting, but I'm still viewed as a gaijin. I guess that's one price you pay when you give up your homeland to live in another country.

  • I started watching your videos recently and I am fascinated by the love that you show for your little Nina. The love is so palpable and I believe that she loves her papa too. Just curious how did you learn Japanese?

  • Thank you! I do think the love between a father and a daughter is a special kind of love.

As for Japanese, I've lived in Japan for 11 years, studied for about 4, and have just slowly gotten better over the years. Are you interested in Japanese?

  • 4:26 hahahaha cute~

  • Haha I love Nina. She is always so lively and silly. I couldn't stop laughing when she was doing her "special dance". I can tell you really love your daughter. :D

  • Thanks! Yeah, Nina is a pretty silly kid, and you're right, that's what we love about her.

  • Nina is soooo cute, Nina is my name too, maybe its the name. ALL NINAS ARE ADORABLE (:

  • Ha ha. Thanks, Nina!

  • I like all of your vids, and my, how cute is nina. you are truly blessed with her <3

btw, awesome pics you have there! what type of camera do you use? i really like the photo safari ^.^

  • Thank you! I use a Canon Rebel DSLR.

  • aaaaw she's so cute, what happened to her nose though? whats that dark thing?

  • It's a scab. She was running and fell on the carpet and got a carpet burn on her nose. It's all healed up by now, of course.

  • Oh my!! As I see from a comment below that was a Nina-chan original?! Just fantastic. I absolutely love her songs, she's eager to become an adult but to her surprise she's yet to realize she surely thinks like one. :3

Geofg, and of course I can't forget about your phenomenal stills, great photos as always. Your videos always bring joy and a certain sense of comfort into my day. Perhaps that's why it wasn't sunny on your day at the beach... lol! Seriously thanks for another great video. ♥

  • Thanks! I always love your comments.

Yeah, Nina always talks about all the things she will be able to do when she is as big as Mama. I just want her to enjoy bing a kid and not having responsibilities for as long as she can. Ah, she's only 4 and I'm already anticipating the pang of loss when she one day decides to move out and make a family of her own. May the next 15 or 20 years go by as slowly as possible...

  • lol. My niece goes insane when she has too much ice cream.

  • Yeah, those people who say sugar doesn't affect kids are crazy.

  • You have one adorable kid there man!

  • Thanks!

  • hahahahaha, she so cute as always! looks like she had a lot of fun there no?? hehe theres no onsen here, but i take long hot bath in the bathtub,

btw, that song she made almost sounded as if she was talking about all of us from eaither the net or where she live watching over her, shes so sweet ^_^

  • An onsen is really just a long hot bath (but with naturally heated water).

I guess her song could represent the YouTube community watching over Nina as you grows up. Nice idea!

  • Love the switch between photo's and video. Mr. Geof, your photo's are amazing as always.

Very cute song, did she just made that up? or is does this song really exist? It's cute how she is addressing herself with Nina when she wants to do something.

  • Thanks, as always! I enjoy photography so it's nice to get feedback.

Yes, the song is a Nina original. She makes them up all the time. I guess a lot of Japanese kids refer to themselves by their own name. She'll probably grow out of it at some point.

  • you take some gorgeous pictures of Nina :) my fave is the last one so peacefull ^^ she has to be one of the cutest kids ever hehe

that was a very nice beach u guys went to i'd like to try an Onsen someday i think theres none here where i live (Puerto Rico)

You should bring Nina to Puerto Rico hehe and take her to a Beach here you'd love it ^_^ very nice video by the way i always enjoy them :)

  • Thanks! Yeah, I never went to an onsen in the U.S. either. Onsen are definitely one of the great things about Japan. This country is full of them.

When Nina is a bit older and we take a trip around the world, I'll be sure to put Puerto Rico on the list. Ha ha.

  • Happy Birthday NINA!

  • has nina ever watched "ponyo on the cliff by the sea" ? the song is very popular here, it reminds me of nina,, heheh.

  • Yes, she has seen Ponyo. Currently, though, she is more into Tonari no Tottoro. She still sometimes sings the Ponyo song, though. Can't get that song out of my head. Ha ha.

  • She's just the cutest! I hope I have a kid like Nina in the future. <3

  • Thanks!

  • It looks like you had a great time! You're a wonderful photographer.

But, lately I've noticed that Nina refers to herself in the third person. Why is that, if I may ask?

  • I guess it's a kid thing. All the kids at her daycare refer to themselves that way.

  • Hi there! I just starting to watch your videos and they're all great! Seriously!

And you put very beautiful songs in them (you have good taste! ;D )

You guys are such a wonderful family!

    Nina is so cute!!!!!

While i looked at that one i listened to a nice song from B.B King which is Sweet Little Angel if you don't know it, try to listen to it, really nice i promise!

Well, keep doing your videos once again there great and Goodbye from France! ( sorry if my english is not that well)

  • Thanks a lot! Yeah, I know B.B. King's version of Sweet Little Angel. That's a good one. Thanks for noticing the music I put behind Nina's vids!

  • Another great one! Where was this beach area? Fukui?

I love how Nina got all hopped up on sleep deprivation and ice cream! Those are my drugs of choice as well ;)

I can't wait to someday do the family onsen thing as well :)

  • That beach is in Kyoto-fu, near Maizuru. From Osaka you could probably get there in 3 hours or something.

The family onsen thing is definitely fun.

  • i like nina better in long hair ;(

  • Yeah, I like her in long hair, too, but short hair is just simpler at the moment. She'll probably grow it long again at some point.

  • wow time flies, she has grown up so big now =)

  • Great video again Geof! Perfect choice in music to accompany the video. Nina and your family are beautiful as always.

    Love you guys!

    Jeff

  • Thanks, Jeff! Love to you and Mokka and Ako too!

  • ups, I didn't say before, am Indonesian.. come to INDONESIA and visit BEAUTIFUL BALI with nina... =)

  • for nina: as usual, veryy cute, I love your sing nina, and I love singing too.. =). she's look like you now.. the photo when she swam with mama is very pretty nina. muahh for nina!

for mr.geofg: I adore your photograph, maybe someday you can come to my country and visit Bali, there's a very beautiful beach too.. with nina of course =)

  • I've always wanted to visit Bali. I hope we can make it someday. If we do go, I will ask you for your recommendation.

    Thanks for the nice comments!!

  • Thanks! Photography is a hobby of mine.

  • so cute ^_^ that beach looks really nice :D

  • Great photos as usual Geof-- so cool there is a hot spring right by the beach! Nina is ao cute-- I love her song-- but don't be in a hurry to grow up Nina! Take your time!

    The food looked delicious!

  • Yeah, that beach was a find. It's a bit of a drive from the major urban areas (Osaka, Kyoto) and is a no smoking beach, so it doesn't get quite as swamped as some beaches, but is getting more popular recently. On sunny days, it gets pretty crowded, apparently. With the rainy weather, it was actually nice to get into the hot spring, even in the Summer.

And, I know, Nina is growing up much too quickly. Have to put a stop to that, somehow.

  • Nina-chan shouldn't eat too much ice cream ne lol But i like how she just dance around without any background music XD Maybe in the future she can be a real creative cereographer~ (Did i spell it right?? )

You seem to have a lot of fun at the beach even on the windy day ^^

  • Ha ha. Nina has always loved to dance. Even when she could only sit, she would wiggle her body, so maybe she will be a dancer or a choreographer some day, like you say.

  • haha, too much ice-cream.

    -

    btw good pictures.

    what's your camera?

  • I use a 5 year old Canon Rebel Digital SLR.

  • And which program are you using to edit those pictures ?

  • Photoshop Elements 3

  • Nina-chan is such a cutie:0)

  • hi geof i'm a new nina fan haha. i've stayed in chiba before in Oami. I really loved it. Nina speaks Japanese very well! She's a great little teacher. I can understand why she wants to speak Japanese more than English, I'm half aussie/indonesian and I'm more comfortable speaking English rather than Indonesian. Nina's crazy time reminds me of a little Japanese boy I know here in oz. He always makes me smile with his little dances n stuff lol -Amanda.

  • How long were you in Chiba? Japanese is Nina's main language, so she can speak it very naturally. I'm more worried about her English, because I'm the only person who uses English in her life. Did/does your Indonesian parent use Indonesian with you? Can you communicate in Indonesian fine if you want to?

  • LOL at her asking what time it is.. she's too adorable. The beach looks very nice there.

And Nina's song was great.. She's a little smartie pants!

  • Thanks! That was our first time to go to that beach, but it was great.

  • U get so amazing photographs there! Looks like Nina really did had fun time, kids dont really look the weather. :) My cousins are jumping in the trampoline in sunny and in rainy days, little rain is not bad for the, hehe. She's pretty good singer too, so adorable. :D She have again grown so much, but she's goming prettier and prettier. :)

  • Thanks! I really enjoy taking pictures, so it's nice to get positive feedback. You're right, the weather isn't important to a kid. It's all good!

  • U are amazing photographer. :) I wish I could take pics like that too. Well tho sometimes kids have even more fun when theres raining, jumping in trampoline or swimming in jusy sunnier in rain. :D And well I get 2 new friend while in thailand, also finnish and one say we wish lso that there would rain like hell that sometimes do just that it would be funnier to swim in the pool.. Sometimes we all can found little child in us.

  • Beautiful pictures!! And a fun vid. :) Thanks for sharing!

  • oh my!!! she is the one who composed that song?!! she is so brilliant,,haha i like the part that i cant take care of myself till became im adult hahaha..and i love the pictures you shared on this. are you a professional photographer?..love you nina :* i love when her mama played with her in hide and seek. she is so thoughtful when she gave you a flower..:">she is naughty haha, where did she inherit the dancing skills? its nice haha, thanks again geof for sharing the video..mwuaahhh nina

  • Yeah, that was just one of Nina's spontaneous songs. She sings them all the time.

Thanks! I just take pictures as a hobby, but have been doing it for a number of years.

    And, thanks from Nina!

  • so cute!

  • Mmm the beach would have been brilliant if there were sunshine, but it did look damn clean wow. Hahah Nina's "high on ice cream" dance was so cute. :p

  • Yeah, the water was really clear, so I'm sure it would have been a brilliant turquoise color on a sunny day, but the nice part is it wasn't crowded.

Nina definitely goes into an altered state on too much sugar.

  • The song she sing.... amaze me! Ah... the Japan's beach... beautiful pictures and video!

  • Thanks! Nina always makes songs like that. I should record more of them.

  • "No, I'm doing a special dance so be quiet!"

Haha, Nina always makes my day. And awesome pictures, geofg!

  • Ha ha. Thanks!

  • too much sugar lol haha

  • Sugar can be a dangerous thing in Nina's hands.

  • Wow. what a great time! Nina is going to have so much fun watching all her videos when she gets older!

    "Memories"

the best part is making them...

  • Yeah, I hope she forgives me for putting in little clips of her farting etc. Ha ha.

  • omg i really saw nina's growing up in this video! shes such a big girl now! haha

but shes lil bit quiet here, what happened to her?

  • Was she quiet? On the first morning, she was cold and wet at the beach, so maybe that dampened her mood a bit.

  • hi mr geofg i really like ur videos ^^

and especially the pictures you include.

would you be so kind as to let us in on the equipment you are using? (body, lens, etc...)

    thanks so much.

  • Thanks! I have a 6 year old Canon Rebel DSLR body, and an L series 2.8 24-70 Canon zoom lens.

  • so cute how she asked the time and didn't know what it meant! i also love the special dance at the end!! haha cute nina ^u^

  • Ha ha. She knows that 10:00 and 3:00 mean snack time, but if it's any other time, she doesn't know what it means.

  • i think Nina is drunk! that's why she is so hyper and dance around! hahaha~

  • Yes, sugar and no nap is like alcohol for Nina.

  • Once again, your photographs are phenomenal! That onsen looks soooo nice. The whole trip looks soooo nice.

  • Thanks! Always flattered to get a compliment from the Micaela.

  • 1.2..3..

  • Yayy..! Nina's latest video is finally out! Woohoo..

I see you guys had enjoyed this short trip but anyway, wasn't Nina afraid of the cricket in her hand?

I love her making faces and her contagious laughter makes me smile too!

Love her new hair and superbs photography btw.

  • Nina really wanted to hold the cricket, but when it started moving in her hand, she got nervous and said, "Can I put it down now?" after I took the picture.

  • haha, i love your videos. beautiful photography, and Nina always makes me smile!

  • Thanks!

  • Nina is always the brightest spot on UTube. She uses simple grammer, which I can understand so she is now my favorite sensei. And she is much cuter than Victor (Gimmeaflakeman)

  • Ha ha. Nina helps my nihongo too. BTW, I think Victor might be "listening", and he prides himself on being cute.

  • what happened to her nose?

  • She tripped while running around on a carpet, and got a carpet burn on her nose. It's all healed now.

  • Haha, Nina is always so funny & goofy :)

And those pictures you took were awesome!!!

  • Goofy is a good word to describe Nina.

    And thanks!

  • The song she sang at the beach, did she made it up?

If she did, she ought to write more! :)

& the sugar high at the end was hilarious as well..

    Cute little bug. ^^

  • Yes, the beach walking song was pure Nina. She makes them up all the time.

Yeah, Nina on a sugar high is like a different person.

  • Great pictures. Are you a photographer?

  • Photography has been a hobby for a number of years. Thanks!

  • hi ,where is located the beach?

  • In Kyoto-fu, near Maizuru.

  • Aw, I used to love catching grasshoppers when I was a kid! And then we'd make them fight with dragonflies lol....Nina kinda reminds me of the older sister in 'My Neighbor Totoro' in this vid

  • Will grasshoppers fight with dragon flies? How do you keep them together? In a box?

Yeah, sometimes Nina reminds me of Satsuki (the older sister), but also sometimes of Mei (the younger sister).

  • You just catch a grasshopper in one hand and dragonfly in the other, then let them have at it. They don't really do anything, they kind of just...paw at each other lol. Me and my cousins were weird (and we were mostly girls lol...). The vids where Nina was younger, she reminds me of Mei, now she reminds me of Satsuki, especially with her haircut.

  • So funny, Keira does the same when we play hide-n-seek, it's like they think they're invincible. Mmm, yummy food. Weird when kids don't take naps, they get like aburst of energy before they conk out. Hahaha! Nice performance though, bravo! Sweet angel finally asleep. Hugs from Keira!

  • Ha ha. Yeah, Nina couldn't understand why we could find her so quickly. We tried to explain that there was nothing to hide behind out there.

We usually can't get Nina to take a nap at home anymore (though she still does at daycare), but when she does it really calms her down. The combination of no nap and sugar definitely leads to the crazy period before the crash, just like you said. Is Keira affected by sugar, too?

  • Oh Nina, you are so adorable and smart. i like your song, glad you all had fun! Wonderful video, thanks for sharing!

  • You take the most beautiful photos. Did she make up that song herself? Its cute either way :D Nina is so pretty and sweet like always. :)

  • Yes, Jessi, that song was pure Nina. Actually, that was just a piece of it. She went on and on like that for about 15 minutes, but it was too long to include all of it.

  • wow seems like nina had a great time

  • A nice ratio of still photography & moving/talking/dancing vid. She's growing up! gone from baby face/words... to little girl face/vocab/full sentences & songs!

I'm glad for you that you have all this on video for keepsake/rememberence!

Thanks for letting us see some of the sentimental journey!

  • Thanks for your thoughtful comment! I agree with all your sentiments!

  • Aww! You're welcome, happy to, & I thank you for your thoughtful replies to me/all as well! :)

  • Which town are you near? we have been to Yonago close to the Sea of Japan. Nina is growing up so fast. She is so happy and smart.

  • That beach is in Kyoto-fu, not too far from Maizuru.

  • Haha.. Calling Nina out when she farted :) And her explanation~! :)

You're an amazing photographer! Beautiful pictures.. Great video.. Nina is growing up so fast T_T Haha.. :P

  • Ha ha. Nina hasn't yet learned to be embarrassed when she farts. It's just one of the body's natural processes, right?

    Thanks!

  • SHE FLASHED EVERYONE!! LOL

  • Wow she is getting very smart

  • i like her singing when you guys are walking about with pails!

  • the song is amazing! such a beautiful little mind

  • She goes on like that for hours.

  • Aww Nina got another haircut! It looks very cute. It looks like you had a fun time at the beach- that bath looks very nice, as well as the fresh sashimi. Ha ha, my favorite parts were when Nina hid in plain viewing site and when she got drunk off of ice cream XD

Nina still looks like an angel when she sleeps. Glad you had fun. :)

  • Yes, the hot spring on the beach was a great feature.

Ha ha. Yeah, Nina couldn't understand why we could find her so quickly in hide and seek.

  • I loved her song :P

And the photographs! Those are some great shots. I have a professional camera, it makes me want to shoot some photo myself.

  • Is your camera a digital SLR? I take SO many more pictures since I went digital. Get out your camera and start shooting!

  • Heck yeah it's SLR!

There's nothing like it. And I will again, once I have free time.

  • Oh, no! She farted! Time to make a video calling her out for adding to the ozone problem.

  • "Nina's farts are pure, eco-friendly goodness, man!" said the Geof.

  • Wow, I'm first! Funny. I WANT TO GO HOME! LOL!
