very pretty girl.i hope melissa gets well.very generous of her to share her story so others can get early detection.i have smoked,drank lived in L.A, and abused my body.iv had lung x-rays before but iv had coughing and mucus for years.i feel its only a matter of time before something goes wrong.we gotta clean up are enviorment+take better care of our selves+support cancer research instead of spending trillions killing each other.EVERYBODY PRAY FOR MELISSA TODAY.

I had an x-ray done a few months back , they found something. I go tomorrow to get another x-ray done. I have shortness of breath, i feel tired and i cough when i get out of the shower, i feel pain in my chest and i am so scared. I am 45 now and never smoked, never done drugs,,,,,,,, why me??

Many people have been hit with lung cancer or breathing problems who never smoked, such as the late comedian Andy Kaufman. There are any number of causes. I'm sorry you are suffering & wish you the best. As to "why you?"., who can say. Being struck down with an illness often has no relation to what kind of life we've led or how we've treated out body...though I'm sure anyone would agree that we all need to take care of out bodies the best we can.

Although coughing up blood does not necessarily mean that you have lung cancer, it is not normal, and you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
