BTW the coin amount wasn't modified, it's just that the luck factor in games differs so much that some games your rolling in it, other times you can't find a cent. Same goes for bombs and keys.
Good thing about Ian's dying about 5 minutes in: The mouse pointer got moved off the game window.
Shocking how much I am conditioned to follow it with my eyes... I couldn't help but to look into the lower right corner over and over again and couldn't even tell why at first.
Anyway... overall very enjoyable video as always and I really like the GotW idea.
1. Trinkets. They are passive items, that give you bonuses, but you can have only one at a time.
2. More items, bosses, monsters, room layouts etc. Also, a super rare and super useful version of the heart, coin, bomb pickup.
3. Every floor has an alternate version, which has a different theme to it. We know that the alternate to The Basement is The Cellar. But you might end up having a mix of the two, eg. Starting at Cellar 1, then ending up in Basement 2.
@ChainedHunter Not really difficult once you get use to it. It also has randomized items with pretty neat effects, which is fun. I'd say it's more of something you do when waiting or relaxing. Admittedly, the only time it gets boring is when your character is weak. Shit takes forever. Certain enemy types feel the same way. Not a bad game though, I'd recommend trying the demo on newgrounds, then dislike it after if you wish.
Protip for the rest of the week: Every floor has 'one' secret room on it somewhere.. and unless there is no area to fit the requirement, 'every' secret room can be found on the map with 3 or 4 rooms 'adjacent' to it (not counting diagonally, of course.) So.. should you have spare bombs, and there is only 'one' applicable secret room space, you should probably check it out... and if you have a lot of bombs, try checking all of them if there are multiple options.
@VerbalProcessing Okay. Just make sure you place the bomb in the 'center' of the wall you chose... a la Zelda style. It won't blow open anywhere else on the wall.. even if the secret room is there... considering all room exits are in the center of the wall anyways.. just thought I'd mention it, just in case.
Nah... no need to explain for me... I've already watched over 100 videos/sessions of the game by Northernlion. xD Still though... it's interesting to watch someone who isn't quite so experienced with the game again.
@VerbalProcessing thanks a lot! I would just like to A) find out just how creepy it realy is, so I don't have to worry about finding out it's worse then I think or B) find out it's not AS bad as I think it is.
Hey Ian, if you get an item that lets you see the secret room on each floor you should pay attention to where they are and try to work out how you can guess their location when you don't have the item.
Using bombs to blow up rocks to get treasure chests will pretty much get you a net gain in items too.
btw best combe ever against the bosses The Virus + Book of Shadows

Typically... it's safer to test a 'new' item in an empty room, than to try and use it in a fight without knowing what's going to happen.
