I had a pit with my ex-boyfriend and he was the sweetest dog in the world. He was such a baby and needed as much protection as all other puppies do. Even when he was full grown he wanted to be next to me, as close as he could be. I loved him very much. Pits are definitely outcasts because of the few people who choose to breed them to be mean. I'm glad there are others that care like I do!
I remember when I was volunteering at an animal shelter, and there was a dog in there named Waldo who was not getting adopted just because he was a pit bull even though he was real sweet heart.
Thank God he finally found a home!

Um, then the people are stupid. ALL dogs have an instinct to hunt. Repressed by selective breeding (or brought out depending the pourpose of the breed). Dogs are basicly domesticated wolves. Can be a chiuahuah and it could kill a baby. Did the baby fall and cry, makeing it look like injured prey? That could of triggered the hunt instinct. I understand what you're trying to say about the hunting instinct. But if you've properly raised your dog he will see your family, baby included as "pack". About 2 years ago a little girl in my area was killed by the family dog, can you guess what the breed was.... a Labrador, just 6 months ago a lady was walking with her twin bull mastiffs in a local park. She slipped on some ice and fell, the dogs attacked and killed her. the united states. some states have bans on animals they deem "vicious". if the animal isnt moved to a breed friendly county or state, the animal will be removed by an animal control officer and destroyed.

Non are violent, infact they are so gentle and great with children.

dipshit! they aren't all mean! u might as well say to kill all humans because SOME! murder! and hurt others! and in all cases of killing, most victims did something to iritate them, and they defended themselves the only way they knew how! it isn't their fault they have a locking jaw,& were originally bred like that so they could fight bulls! thanks for this great/sad video. i volunteered at a rescue that specialized in pit bulls in az,they are so sweet all of the dogs found love and trust in humans again even after some had been beaten,we gave them a second chance,they are not cruel by nature, and yet r hated and killed for being pits. poor little angels!

It made me cry. I don't care what anyone says, animals are not inherently cruel or evil or anything like that. People need to be taught that training an animal is like raising a child, neglectful parents often end up with problem children. I know this not always true, please don't slam me, but at least say you get my point. Give love and it will be given.

A friend of my family haf 3 pitbulls when i was little. I did all kinds of things to them and they still were lovely all the time! If a pitbull bits someone for no reason, they were not trained properly

Australia tried to wipe out german shephards as well because they were so viciouse, but the difference between the german shephard attacks and the pitbull attacks is that the pitbull got more publicity and they soon forgot about the german shephard and started to target the pitbull because of its history of being a killer.

I love these guys. I have had a couple of pitties ( no longer due to bans in Australia ) they are one of the most loyal, devoted, caring and loving breeds of dog. Its the redneck bigots that abuse, humilliate and toture these wonderfull beings that need to be put down. I now have 2 pure American Staffy's ( identical personas as the pit ), I would fight to the death to defend my 2, they r my children.

I'm not against any breed. All dogs should be on a leash or in their secure yard if they pose a threat to anyone.
The way I see it dogs are like humans, once in awhile someone gets hurt...yet we don't kill humans....we put them in jail and feed them for life...

If it were legal, the pits could be used as food and their skin for warmth. And leftover stuff used as dog food. Oh wait, maybe for cat food would be better? But then again, seeing as animals don't have a voice, they can't really say how they feel about eating their own species.

Just because dog isn't on your menu you all of a sudden care that someone has the audacity to suggest eating them. Dog, goat, cow, chicken .. they are all the same, and I love them all the same. This is why I won't eat any of them because its not fair to say: I know you endure much pain and suffering so that I can eat you, but you taste good.

A meat eater should find little fault in the implication of using pitbulls exclusively for food. We use other animals, dont we? Like I said previously, there is no difference to me between a pig, cow, dog, cat .. etc ..
That said, I find it annoying arguing this point to people who shovel animals into your mouths every single day. A meat eaters body is not their temple, it's a coffin!

I only know of it because so many coffins make reference to it. This is only speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if the dumpster folk weren't even affiliated with peta. They were probably coffins hired by the meat industry to try and make peta look bad.

Um, then the people are stupid. ALL dogs have an instinct to hunt. Repressed by selective breeding (or brought out depending the pourpose of the breed). Dogs are basicly domesticated wolves. Can be a chiuahuah and it could kill a baby. Did the baby fall and cry, makeing it look like injured prey? That could of triggered the hunt instinct. Its parents being stupid and too trusting of their pets thats the problem. not the dog. The dog and the baby should be kept seperated till the baby gets older.

I understand what you're trying to say about the hunting instinct. But if you've properly raised your dog he will see your family, baby included as "pack". So even if the child started to cry he wouldn't harm the kid. After all as pack it would be the cub, something they would at the very least tolerate.

if we are going to kill pits, shouldn't we then kill all of the dogs at fault? In a study published in the September 1989 Journal of the American Medical Association, breeds one wouldn't normally consider "dangerous," such as the Labrador Retriever, Great Dane, Saint Bernard, Cocker Spaniel, and English Sheepdog, were attributed with one or more fatalities from a period of 1979-1988. (A Yorkshire Terrier has even been attributed with a fatality!)

I can almost understand a ban on pitbull breeding in certain areas in which dogfighting is rampant.. but a ban on pitbull keeping is just stupid. A glance at statistics shows how relatively few dog bites result from pit breeds -- because it's how their bred. Yes, they have an ingrained inclination against DOGS that must be overcome, but at the ame time, they're selected not to bite their handlers IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT. Think about that: how many dogs are really safe to touch while fighting?

you are right. there are a lot of dogs that have been trained to be vicious. however there are pictures of abused dogs in this video as well. sadly you completely missed the point of the video retard. the media portrays pit bulls and similar breeds as only vicious and violent. there is very little positive press out there. this is the side that people don't get a chance to see.

Jaykay, my dear, you may want to read up on the temperment of pit bull-type dogs before you shoot off your mouth next time, unless you like sounding like an idiot. If you are so worried about vicious dogs, why don't you support Dangerous Dog Acts, which punish a vicious dog, regardless of breed, size, or history. Those are the laws we really need- they're clearer, easie to enforce, provide more comprehensive protection, and aren't 'doggie-racist' laws either.

Very true. About 2 years ago a little girl in my area was killed by the family dog, can you guess what the breed was.... a Labrador, just 6 months ago a lady was walking with her twin bull mastiffs in a local park. She slipped on some ice and fell, the dogs attacked and killed her. The modern canine descends from wild animals; no matter how much selective breeding you do the animal will always be an animal... subject to wild instincts. ANY DOG CAN BITE

the united states. some states have bans on animals they deem "vicious". if the animal isnt moved to a breed friendly county or state, the animal will be removed by an animal control officer and destroyed.

The problem for pit bulls has been created by people.Ignorant,unfeeling people who breed them and train them to fight.The breed itself isn't bad.I have a half lab half pit at home.He is the sweetest,most gentle dog in the world.But he has been raised to be that way.My heart goes out to all the poor dogs who suffer senseless torture and ultimatly death because people suck.

I dont think is BSL fault, they are doing whats just, if a pitbull attack or its violent, nothing is gonna change that, the dog should be put to death and the owner go to jail for a long time. Its like if we hate the Judicial sistem for giving death penalty to a killer or someone who rapes a kid, what are they gonna said? "ohhhhh its not his fault, he was abused when he was a little kid". Its exactly the same thing, a human being its not born a violent person, its made just like a dog.

This video moved me so much. My mother and I rasied pit bulls for years and they have been nothing but protecting of my family. We found out one of the puppies was shot by the police because he was a threat when all he was doing was protecting his new family.
