Its so much more than that though, and it absolutely does help with destruction of cancer cells by depriving the cells of nutrients needed to survive, thus forcing the cancer cells to "eat" themselves in a process known as autophagy. THC binds to the protein receptors on cancerous cells causing the cells to produce a substance called cerimide. This prompts the cell to eat itself. This process is known as Apoptosis. Apoptosis differs from necrosis, in which the cellular debris can damage the organism. THC does not cause cermide to form, the healthy cells do not die.
