  • I love this song...remember it well. I was very surprised to see the picture on the video. I also have the LP 'Swinging 60s'. Having no record player, it doesn't get played much these days. :)

  • @johnnybrew1 Ha ha,hey go out and get yourself a record player, they are very cheap these days to buy. Many thanks for taking the time to comment. Carl

  • @radiator0 Hi Mate, nice to hear from you, yeah i don't know that many Carl's myself but having said that i have come across quite a few of them here on youtube, and they spell it the same as me with a C and not a K,thanks for dropping by. Carl

  • He was living in Menorca and I saw him performing back in 2004 under the name of Robin Elliot.

He plays with just a guitar and drum backing track in several bars around the Island. He sounded absolutely amazing and still had a great voice! He even took the time to sit with us and have a few drinks. A great guy.

  • @MultiTuneful wow thanks for that...

  • I remember seeing him singing this song on stage at Sheffield City Hall. The Everly Brothers were top of the bill. It was a brilliant night. Think I was about 16.

  • @dickydarkhorse I have never seen him myself but have always been a fan of him,and i do like this song.thanks for watching. CARL

  • Note that John Barry did the arrangement and accompaniment on both sides of this record under the pseudonym of Johnny Prendy. He also co-wrote the flip-side with Trevor Peacock. It was actually recorded *before* Adam's What Do You Want?, but released afterwards.

  • @Geoffers008 thanks for all the information as i am a big fan of "John Barry" and i did not know none of this.very much appreciated and thanks for watching. CARL

  • @BeardedUncleAlbert thanks for the info and thanks for watching my video. CARL

  • @TheOldrecordclub Chris is still around, I remember that Joe Meek, who produced this song, got very annoyed cos people thought it was an Adam Faith song, but Joe used the John Barry string arrangement so popular in Adams records.

  • @jrg135 now you mentioned it this song does sound very much like it was Adam faith singing it.never really thought about it before.thanks very much for your comment and for the info about Chris. CARL

  • It's a long time since I heard this Carl. You have a hidden treasure with this upload:it's a great track.

That record player has very good sound quality Carl.

  • @tukspeacepipes cheers Tuks,i also want to get this one on mp3 but i only have it on vinyl.i recorded this video in one of our kitchens which gave the sound good acoustics with a slight echo but a lot of the later videos i did on vinyl were recorded in my attic where the sound did not bounce so well.this record player also plays Cd's and has a USB port. CARL

  • @warburtonpaul his sons were on yorks and hants books at cricket,Alex and Zac and he loves cricket

  • @warburtonpaul

He lives in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. I went to school with his sons, Alex and Zac, who did indeed become professional cricketers and both captained England at youth level.

Their house was treasure trove of old memories and instruments. He plays (played) with the Staggerlees and old friend Tony Greig. I heard some years ago he'd had a stroke and hasn't really been in the best of health since.
