  • I believe in The Book of Abraham as far as it's translated correctly!

  • I wish there was a part two for this video. It was just getting good.

  • Mormonism claims to translate correctly But uses a Stolen Plagiarized Book with over 4000 redactions and not a source to justify even one! The Book Of Abraham would make any Charlatan blush for it's Incompetency. Where is the authority to translate granted? From hell's imagination? From the inner self, hell alone. (And I posted "Joseph Smith Should Have Known Better" I show a book, "American Antiquities...." 1830. Over 30 Pages on Champollion. He was known, despite documentary claims otherwise)

  • So are you saying that though 12 million plus Mormons carry the King James version of the bible around that they don't believe it. That is pretty arrogant on your part don't you think. I am LDS and study doctrine contained in the bible.

  • The 8th Article of Faith would seem to suggest that the LDS don't believe all of it.

  • How many different versions of the bible are there? Do you believe every word in every one even though they read differently? Of course we all believe in the main subject of the bible which is Jesus Christ and His gospel of Faith in Him, Repentance and Baptism but not every word is translated the same in each version.

  • So, given the fact that the church of LDS only uses and recognizes the King James version of the Bible - do you believe every word of that version?

  • As far as it is translated correctly

  • And the Book of Mormon....? Is it translated correctly? Completely without error?

  • There is a difference between translation and printing and punctuation if that is what you are implying.

  • I'm not implying anything. Is the hard copy of The BoM that you have right now translated correctly from its original source?

  • The Book of Mormon is a true account and a second witness of Jesus Christ. It bares witness that He is our Saviour and that there is no other name under heaven whereby men can be saved.

  • How do you know it's true? How do you know it's correctly translated?

You are very correct about one thing - It is through Jesus Christ that we are saved.

  • Moroni 10 : 5. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

That is how I know that it is true. May I suggest that you read or re read the Book of Mormon with a sincere heart, with an earnest desire to know for yourself if it is true, being willing to do whatever the Lord would have you do. Then you can know for yourself as well. Jesus Christ actually visited the Americas. Isn't that a truth worth knowing?

  • Then it is a matter of faith. You have faith that the BoM is the word of God. I have faith that the Bible is sufficient. Can you tell me one thing that is written in the Book of Mormon that I need to know that my salvation depends on?

  • Please read the whole of chapter 29 in

2nd Nephi and sincerely ask in prayer if this chapter is true. If the church is true then there are many other truths that you need to know that are important for you

  • I am afraid I cannot genuinely read from a book that has not been proven, and not only contradicts Biblical doctrine, but current LDS doctrine as well. The BoM says one thing, but the doctrine now taught in the LDS church is something different.

For example - Moroni 8:18 vs. later accepted teachings of Joseph Smith. Which is correct?

  • It is a shame that you won't genuinely read the Book of Mormon when you are trying desparately to prove that it has contradictions and therefore in your mind untrue. How can you arrive at that decision when you refuse to read the whole book with a sincere heart?

There is no discrepancy in the scripture you quoted.

  • But there is discrepancy. Moroni 8:18 says The Father is forever unchanging throughout all eternity. Joseph Smith's later teachings, which are now doctrine, says He was once a man. Going from a mere man to God? Isn't that a fairly significant change? BoM actually agrees with the Bible on this issue - but the current church doctrine refutes it. How can one believe both?

  • I think you are looking for the meat without being willing to drink the milk. You are asking about the mysteries of the Kingdom. The milk is, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins and the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. Knowing and understanding the mysteries of the kingdom is not as important as obeying the first principles of the gospel. Enter ye in by the door, don't try and climb over the fence.

  • @2morrowman

If straight is the way is true in the LDS church, the book of mormon is causing a mighty curve in that path ! Grant Palmer will surely agree to that and he is LDS !

  • Perhaps you should study the doctrine contained in the Book of Mormon and then ask yourself," Could any man have made this up?" I tell you the answer is no. It preaches of Christ in a plain and beautiful manner. It makes plain many doctrines that are not so clear in the Bible, it is a second witness with the bible of Jesus Christ and His divine mission.

  • Could any man have made this up? Check 1 Peter 5:8, as far as it is correctly translated. Even the devil believes and trembles, does that make him a Christian or a witness bearing testimony that Jesus is the God, not a god. I'm sure Satan has a burn in his bosom and has read the BOM.

  • @2morrowman I TELL YOU THE ANSWER IS YES - A MAN COULD EASILY HAVE MADE IT ALL UP AS A COMPLETE CONCOCTION OF ABSOLUTE NONSENSE, WITH SOME PLAGIARISM OF STORIES IN TRUE SCRIPTURE, AND A MAN DID MAKE IT UP - HE'S CALLED THE LIAR JOSEPH SMITH - AN ABSOLUTE FALSE PROPHET WHO HAS DECEIVED MANY LIKE YOU.

  • @2morrowman I have GENUINELY read with a SINCERE HEART and I see the Book of Mormon for what it is: a piece of 19th century FICTION, a FRAUD perpetrated by a FALSE PROPHET.

  • @2morrowman 2nd Nephi is a falsehood, just like every chapter is a falsehood. The Lord has shown me that the Mormon Church is a falsehood, and there is one truth that its followers don't grasp - that salvation is by grace of God alone by faith in Jesus Christ.

  • My point quite simply is that there is no correspondence between prophecy & scripture. While scripture is often prophetic, it isn't necessarily so. Also, true prophecy is not necessarily a part of scripture. These various court records referenced in the historical bookd are not scripture merely by being mentioned in the Bible. St. Paul references 2 works by Pagan Greek authors. This doesn not make those works scripture.

  • So, why don't the mormons just take out the verses that that they say aren't translated correctly?

  • is there a way the rest of this conversation can be posted?

  • Amen, Brother Andreas.

Regenerated believers in the Lord Jesus Christ cannot adhere to the sound doctrine of the Holy Bible and Mormonism which contradicts the Scriptures with its sly words, "as far as it is translated correctly." Free of errors, omissions or additions, the Authorized Version of the Holy Bible is the Holy Scriptures in English. The King James Bible (KJV) is the fully reliable final authority in all matters for the English-speaking people today--just as it has been since 1611.

  • Praise The Lord

  • Notice the attitude of the Bereans, who are commended for their positive, investigative attitude in reading the scriptures. "These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so" (Acts 17:11).

Where did it say pray or use your feelings?

  • Amen!

  • Mormons, is polygamy good or evil?

  • Good video. God has never told us to "pray" about his word to get an emotional response to know it's of him. He tells us to "study" his word to know it's of him.

  • He tells us to study it out in our minds and to ask him if it is true.

  • where, what verse

  • Yeah where did you "translate" that from?

The Bible is a storehouse of valuable treasure. How can we reap the treasures contained in this amazing book? Regarding true knowledge, the Bible promises us, "If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:46).

  • Please show me a verse in the Bible that says just that?

  • 'As for as it is translated correctly' is the same excuse Christians use to run to numerous translations or the 'original languages'. You either have a perfect Bible (KJB) or you don't have ANY Bible, just many OPINIONS.

  • Sorry and as for knowing if the book of Mormon is Translated correctly, just read it and do the challenge presented by Moroni at the end of the book, He says to ask of God. It is as simple as that. Pray and ask God and whatever your answer is, is for you to follow.

  • the book of mormon is fiction. It never happened. Besides - the church that offers this challenge teaches against biblical doctrine...

  • Well I respect your opinion. I'm sorry that we cannot agree.

  • So who is Jesus to you? does the Bible support your view? if so show us.

Was Jesus a created being? Is Jesus God or a god? again show us Biblical proof, or how it is translated incorrectly?

Not trying to attack you but you made the comment.

    take care my friend.

  • @Canonri im sure a muslim will tell you the same thing.

you can know the book of mormon is true or not true by opening a bible and getting a library card ............

  • no.

"played with alot"? Come one - the Bible only shows itself to be trustworthy... there where many copies of the original - and most of them tell the EXACT same message

"Personal revelation" over the scriptures dont work. I guess you are talking about James passage? Go read it again - tell me what the context is, who is he talking to?

  • Those are not scripture, the books that were made & made reference to them are the scriptures. God made a covenant w/ a people. He promised to guide them. He lead them create His scriptures as He saw fit. A mere court chronicle is not a scripture. The officials of Israel who composed the scripture books after those sources were guided by God. You start w/ a people in their covenant w/ God. From their authority you get your scriptures. Not by some goober finding imaginary plates.

  • I know they were not considered scripture b/c they were not considered scripture. The Jews do not consider them scripture & never did. So what if Nathan was a prophet. Prophecy is not scripture. Where is the Book of Elijah in the Bible. There was no book of Elijah, but Elijah is considered the chief of prophets & represented all prophets w/ Moses on Mt. Tabor @ the Transfiguration. Consider, Jesus is God, but not all His words are in the Bible.

  • I came to that conclusion b/c they say they don't. Go look up the council of Jamnia. No. Prophecy is NOT scripture. Actually the OT records how God raises up people to be His witnesses (officially) through time. Adam to Enoch. Abraham to Isaac (& not Ismael), Jacob (& not the hated Esau & his heirs the Edomites). From Moses to Aaron & the Levites & the Elders, who sat in "Moses' seat." The Shekinah was always the sign of "official" covenental authority.

Read the NT where Jesus is NOT quoted.

  • Comment removed

  • You really don't know how to listen very well. The Council of Jamnia is the council that is attributed w/ finalizing the Jewish canon. Whether or not it took place doesn't alter the fact that they have an official canon. It doesn't alter the "official" source of their authority to so decide. "Moses's seat," as Jesus called it in the Bible.

Remember, the Jews only had the Pentateuch of Moses in the beginning. Remember the Sadducees never accepted the later canon, neither did the Samaritans.

  • You complain about my pointing out that your not listening to what is being written to you & then you prove my point. I said, "Read your Bible for once for what it says..." I did misplace the comas, but my point was for you to go into the Bible try to understand what IT is saying. Not cut & paste bits of it into a defense for Mormonism. This is dishonest since Mormonism denies real ultimate authority to the Bible. Jamnia the story of where the Jews established their canon, my point was about...

  • ...how the Jews authority is ultimately rooted in Oral Tradition & authority. The source for both the Oral Tradition & Torah are the same & they grew up together. Miss that & you miss everything.

  • See what happens when you hit a Mormon with truth and logic. They get offended and take their bat and their ball and go home.

"I don't want to play with you guys 'cause you're mean to me"

He's probably still crying you meanie :)

  • Cautionwill = Owned!

  • LOL, thats awesome!

  • "I know they were not considered scripture b/c they were not considered scripture" Thats a really educated reason.

  • It is a fact. Believing in things b/c they are facts is always a good reason. As John Adams said, "Facts are stubborn things." You'll have to take w/ the Jews how they made their canon. It is simply a fact that God gave THEM the authority to decide such things. The Canon following the Torah of Moses was accepted following the exile in Babylon. It was an expression of the inherited authority of the elders of Israel, as part of the Seat of Moses. - Mat. 23: 1-12

  • To the ironically named Caution: Read your Bible for once, for what IT says, not for what pieces you can pastiche together to serve Mormonism.

"...was not Esau Jacob's brother? Saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob. & I hated Esau, & laid his mountains & his heritate waste... -Mal. 1: 2-3 Jacob received the blessing & the sign of the covenant (the Shekinah) rested w/ Jacob. Moses passed on his prophetic authority to the elders of Israel. His Levite Tribe inherited the priesthood. "Moses' seat."

  • Yes, Amos 3:7 is true.

And, so is Heb 1:1-2 and Luke 16:16

    Oh, also Matt 24:11

    These were all translated correctly!

  • You need to look up the "dead sea scrolls" and actually compare the translations. The compare the BOM to the gold plates...wait you cannot, well then look up the scrolls written from the BOM...nothing again? hmm... there must be something to compare it to?? NO? well then feelings is the only way right and we all know feelings cannot be effected by anything right? Who needs proof right?

The next time you see your doctore say just use your feelings to diagnose me.

  • Quick, cue the song:

    "Feelings, nothing more than feelings......"

  • i cannot believe how much these people are taught contradictory things, and taught to completely accept the contradictions. "we believe in the bible!" - that's what they're supposed to tell outsiders, but "the bible's not translated correctly so it's not really trustworthy" is what they're told at their meetings.

  • And the Holy Ghost, of course.

  • Shawn is sooo smart! Thank you for ministry! I love you!

  • I love how the 8th Article of Faith makes that distinction for the Bible - "as far as it is translated correctly". But it doesn't make the same qualifier about the Book of Mormon. How do we know the BoM has been translated correctly?

  • and the Book of Abraham.

Can anybody point me to where I can buy a Reformed Egyptian to English dictionary? I tried Amazon but.......

  • First!!!! lol, o and btw this guy makes some good points
