ALTON BROWN! yeah i'm a fan. using alcohal the dough will have less gluten. less gluten=flakier and more tender crust. don't leave it out! if you can't get your hands on vodka us club soda or carbinated h20. works about the same!
@indras100 DON'T USE ROOM TEMP!! if you want a flaky crust and not a tough and chewy, then cut in cold, cold butter. this way the dough will be super tender and flaky. if your too lazy, then use a food procccesser and pulse, the stop, then polse, then... you get the idea. do that untill the mixture is somewhat crumply.
Chef John... might you consider putting a print button on each of your recipes on your .com page? OR... better yet... an android/Iphone scan so that we can easily take the recipes to the local store? If any of these are already available... I didn't see them... LOVE... your cooking, style and humor... you really need to be on TV

Those aren't olives. they're cherries. u just can't tell the difference because they are really well made, unlike the common canned cherries. It says "Cherries made in Italy" =____= how can u think its olives after seeing that.
