On my first run, I recognised him instantly from gradius 3. He was firing with the hatch still closed so I thought "ok new attack pattern". I got hit, stupidly. I was very familiar with the opened hatch attack and since I learned they reduced the hitbox, changed my srategy from sweeping to slipping through the gaps. (took a lot of practice with positioning). THEN, he started spinning. Spinning indeed. And then I thought, "what the hell is this thing!?"

I STILL can't believe this game was made in 2004. That's just insane that such a great looking game came out that long ago. This game's graphics could compete with the Xbox 360 for sure.

@aliultimate009 I think this game, if released on the 360 or the PS3, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. They really pushed the PS2 to it's limits here.

yes and to make it much funnier the game is only nearly 320 MB CD disc ( not DVD because my computer told me that this game is a CD disc ) AND IT GUTS this hellish Gameplay with graphics quality XD

well venom is the cyber brain in this game and also appeared in Gradius 2 or Nemesis 2 MSX - Salamander MSX & Gradius Rebirth ^_^

Gofer appeared 3 times ^_^

first was in Gradius II Gofer No Yabou - 2nd in Nemesis 3 MSX & last in Gradius IV ^_^

i don't think that there are darker plans than Venom XD

he is a very genius damn bastard who tried for 5 times to invade planet Gradius & once in Latis if i'm not mistaken XD

so he joined the bacterions ^_^

amebeious has a skill that bacterion not has, she can transform into a living planet, while bacterion not, he should take a planet to make its headquarters

I finish Gradius 3 using the power up to let me go orange craft for so have my wave beam, twin missile and the options if those elements I am weak, Gradius 2 MSX is a bit hard, because Metallion turn Powerfull but is weak, not much you can bring him to the walls because...kapow !!!!! you just need to keep your guard up on the worst situations and seriously metalion is tougher than all of the old vic vipers except Vic Viper in Gradius Gaiden & Gradius V ^_^

because metalion can use all of it's weapons in one full run but vic viper needs your weapon selection from weapon arrays ^_^

so this makes metalion very challenging to other vic vipers ^_^

don't worry just keep your guard up and practice like crazy as i do XD then you'll be sure to clear it ^O^

i've already did that in 4 stages if i remember correctly lately ^_^

and Gradius III Dark Force specially the arcade version in challenging is completely unfair in it's challenges on higher loops but in loop 1 it's the only location of the game to be challenging on hardest ^_^

and also i got another challenge for you ^O^

try to clear stage 7 with only machine gun .. if you did you're very good ^_^

i think that most of Gradius fans won't agree on that because actually the take care ost started from 1987 in Gradius II gofer no yabou as a stage boss music and this version is the latest one for it ^_^
