  • so beautiful ;)

  • that's why i don't go to classical concerts...there is always some boob (usually many) who either sing along, cough like crazy, grunt, talk, fart, scratch, did I miss anything anyone???

    UFFAH!!!

  • @cirosuperiore Though it would be funny if some drunk idiot yelled "PLAY FREE BIRD!"

  • @KevServo hahahahhahahahh considering the number of senile people at clas con i m sure it happened at some time or other.

  • Me parece que es la mejor interpretación de la transcripción de Liszt.... lastima el sonido

  • whats the movement with the super popular part of this song? the fast part. im having trouble finding it and i want to learn it.

  • @erikweldingmusician I THink you're talking about the very popular 4th movement of the 7th...

which he also plays with piano...

  • What's the deal with this guy? From playing so only he can hear to trying to break the piano.

  • I orgasmed at 7:37

  • he does the michelangeli routine with the hankie.

  • pleace play more of this.

  • It's awesome!!! :))

  • Love it.

  • PASQUASE SEI UN GRANDISSIMO!!!!! ODDIO CHE BOMBA!!!!

  • this should have been called a marcia funebre instead but i think beethoven already called the third synphomy 2nd movement so . there is little that is allegretto about this piece a terrible misnomer, but the way pasquale plays it is very impressive indeed.

  • @cirosuperiore worst rendition I have ever heard. Beethoven was far beyond anyone of his time. God's composer. Who are you?

  • Comment removed

  • does anybody have sheet music to this? i cant find it anywhere

  • @oblaytitstasha google imslp.oRg/wiki/Symphony_No.7,_Op.92_(Beethoven,_Ludwig_van)

  • @oblaytitstasha oh yeah, the .oRg is so I could post it w/o being flagged for spam. Also, it will be towards the lower half of the page under the sub-section Arrangement and Transcriptions and the score itself will say "For Piano solo (Liszt)"

  • @FZEsucks thanks sososososo much!

  • OH GOD THE RINGING. THE CONSTANT RINGING EAR-SCRAPING EYEGOUGING HIGH PITCHED NOISE, AUAUUGHHH!

    Great transcription and playing though.

  • it is nice

    i like

  • its quite remarkable how complicated this gets around 3-4 minute mark

  • the original symphony is much faster, why does he play it so slow?

  • @sapinta It depends on the Conductor. I am the principal cellist in my symphony and we have had different conductors come in and conduct it at different tempos. Even though it is marked allegretto, most conductors take it slower. The slower tempo makes it much more expressive. Great question though! A lot of people ask that.

  • @sapinta Can you play it faster? Even this is too fast for me! It's really hard.

  • @sapinta its to make it more dramatic, i like it =)

  • excellent skills ,its very difficult to sound like a orcestra(amazing!)

  • Christ, I would told that humming cunt to fuck of and die! what a spastic.

  • i have all Beethoven Liszt Cyprien Katsaris CDs. u guys dont get tears? when u listen this?

  • I've probably watched this about 50 times now. His voicing is excellent. It really sounds like there are 3 hands playing. My favorite part is the long crescendo from 2:03- 3:00.

  • If you guys are freaking out about the humming, ever listen to Glen Gould? Even worse, totally ruined an otherwise perfect rendition of Bach's Goldberg Variations, shame.....

  • that's right. i know i hum when i play bach as well. not this song. and i love Gould!!

  • Am I the only one that thinks 6:41- 7:25 sounds like Bach?

  • @gott1rott Did you know that Bach drew much of his musical influence from the Bach family as well as Haydn?

  • @ShikakuSan

Well that makes sense. I know the Bach's WTC was back then what Chopin's Etudes are today meaning that all serious classical pianists studied them.

  • @gott1rott It's a fugue, one of Bach's most "Bachy" forms.

  • @gott1rott true, it seems almost as if Beethoven had a secret admiration for Bach. ;)

  • @gott1rott Nothing sounds like Bach! This is the genious of Ludwig van Beethoven!!

  • @gott1rott

you are right, sounds a bit like Bach's fugues, and it is quite normal.

  • @gott1rott Probably. Its sounds like Bach because... its a fugue and Bach is the Man talking about fugues ;)

  • @barongrouda ...its a symphony... this is a transposition

  • @gott1rott

    Lizst + Beethoven = Bach

  • Wow. That's a different way of playing it, so emotional.

  • You can actually look this song up on wikipedia and it has a full PDF file version of the full song as transcribed by Listz towards the bottom of the page. All 52 pages. This movement is pages 20-31 I think. I just dowloaded it today. VERY good copy, too.

  • i thought the movement began how it begins here....so this is actually page 20 or so? i am going to attempt to teach myself to play it fingers crossed

  • Yeah, it starts on page 20 and goes to page 21. The first movement is the first 20 pages. Minor correction, though. The piano arrangement is on IMSLP where you can find all the arrangements for any instrument. The site looks so much like Wiki, that's what I thought it was. lol

  • no matter i got it at last but it looks so much harder than i thought ill have to try find someone who can teach me.

  • Wow !

  • who's the moron who's humming along ? UGH

  • Tell me about it. I complained about that below and people down-thumbed me! The humming's so damned annoying! And this is the only full version of the piano transcription that I can find.

  • The player sometimes tends to hum along because he is doing it by memory, so it's probably the pianist, I've heard other pianist do this on the Dance Macabre movement.

  • If it was him, he wouldn't be out of sync with piano.

  • @vaspix then maybe it's some know it all in the audience..

  • @terists I know, don't you just HATE that. I have several friends who do this also, and you jsut wanna tell them to STFU, but you can't because that's rude, so instead you try to hint to them that what they are doing is NOT adding to the song, but making it extremey difficult to properly enjoy, but they don't get the hint or jsut ignore it and keep doing it until you jsut wanna punch them in the face. Lol, sorry I have to much expereince in this area for my own good. xD

  • @terists er...that'll be the moron playing the piano...you moron

  • @terists the pianist

  • @terists lets humming with him...

  • @terists They invited Glenn Gould... Big mistake...

  • @terists Glenn Gould.

  • @terists Himself. See his other videos

  • @terists That's something I would do haha makes me laugh because he's really in to the piece

  • @terists hahahahahahah

  • This was the song in "THE KNOWING", I love this song. make a tatorial on how to play now. I cant read sheet music fool.

  • I know! I saw that movie and was just like. HELLO FAVORITE SONG IN THE WORD RIGHT THERE!!!!

  • HAHa, you have to very, i mean VERY GOOD, TO PLAY anything Beethoven piano music, or at least transcribed.

  • can you plz make a tatorial on how to play this? PLEASE

  • learn to read music you lazy bastard !

  • Isnt that slow for allegretto?

  • Did he make any mistakes?

  • is it matter ?

    Did yu like it ?

  • he does many

  • Is there someone humming the tune in the background?? Anyhow, congratulations you have played the piece very well.

  • Glenn Gould used to hum as he played, he's probably the most famous for it. I wouldn't be surprised if the pianist is humming here :)

  • if anyone could link this sheet music.. or any for this movement that'd be great. thanks

  • Go to the IMSLP and search for the Liszt transcription.

  • yep. =] it starts at page 20... I got lost in around 6 minute into the piece, so I have no idea where it ends.

  • u can get it at 4shared in pdf format

  • absolutely beautiful

  • He did it more romantic than classical, but it appeals to me. Wonderful.

  • Comment removed

  • some people would say its too slow but this is the right speed, so much better than the faster version

  • so good

  • perfection.

    thanks for posting!

  • a very good singer :)

    and BRIILIANT PIANIST!

    +5

  • Is he singing? Reminds me of Gould sorta... personally I think it humanizes the performance. Don't you think Beethoven would hum during the composition of this piece?

(For Gould, referring to the singing, not the style.)

  • ANd the simphony 6? why no is recorded too?!

  • incredible

  • some times it sounds as tango... to me he sounds caprichous with the rithm... he should play with the volume, not with the rithm...

  • Who's humming? It completely ruins the piece when you turn it up!

  • im sorry to say this but i was humming to while reading your comment, sorta ironic...

  • I don't understand what you mean. Do you not agree with my point?

  • I do agree, but by saying that i agree, i am making myself a hypocrite. as i was humming to the piece while a was reading your comment...

  • My favourite piece of music of all time. I had no idea it had been transcribed for the piano. Thank you very much for sharing!

  • awesome.

  • Such a difficult piece to perform. He did extremely well. A joy to my ears...

  • Yes the best ONE!!!

  • words cant explain what this song does for me this is the best one on piano i have seen cheers

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • You have a way with words.

  • i dont even remember why i wrote that.

  • This was playing when during Beethoven's funeral in the movie = (

  • Cold...

  • oMG i love this song soooooo much! i have the sheet music for it, but i doubt it would be 9 minutes long if i played it. I think this guys the best. hes dont such a good job at playing it.

  • where did you get the music sheet for it plas i wana get it

  • where did you get the music sheet for it plas i wana get it

  • a very good job

  • Stay away from Lesli Howard at all costs. This is fine but not recorded wellthe pianist PasIannone jhas more attention to sound ,voicings than we can really tell here. gould did this beautifully in his recof he liszt Beeth symphonies.

  • So, who do you say has the best performance? I like Scherbakov, heard him yet? And I thought that Howard was the best at this... :(

  • VERY GOOD! I love it very much!

  • yes, our band is playing one part of it leaderDBlU

  • our band's playing 1 part of this i think

  • i love playing the part at 6:41 on the marimba

  • Good interpretation, but I also prefer Leslie Howard's. That is one expensive disk set but worth it in my opinion.

Pianists that are too sentimental tend to bother me at times. I thought this guy was borderline.

  • great - i've always wondered how Liszt treated this movement - now I know!

    really beautiful 5*

  • awesome!

  • Anyone know where we can get the sheet music?

  • i prefer slower.

    but he played well!

  • Great piece. I'm working on it only after almost 2 years as a piano student. After I heard the piano version I had to have this in my repetoire. It's a challenge, but after practice, more practice, and even practice, I'm getting it.

  • Too slow, but he's a good pianist

  • Many thanks, really enjoyed this. For a fascinating vocal interpretation, search for "Sacris Solemnis" by the renowned choir, Libera.

  • mozza balls req in dmin beeth 2of 7 in Dmin ode to joy 4th in dmin, fuckin play it on guitar and if it does nothing for your play it dwunk, just fuckin cool,o heart-shaped box kinda similar-no responses Im just a fan

  • who's humming???

  • PrinsTan,

I think is is Pasquale humming.

  • Questo è stato il tempo ke più mi è piaciuto della sinfonia, bello davvero! e lei lo suona divinamente. complimenti!!!

  • Very nice!

  • very powerful made chillz run up my spine

thank you for sharing this. grazie~

    eLi G~ pianowarist in Japanotanks!

  • One might keep in mind the reason for Liszt's transcribing of all 9 symphonies. Back in the day (yes, that one) a great number of people living in smaller towns had no exposure to Beethoven's symphonies because they were nowhere near a professional orchestra. By transcribing it for piano, Liszt could bring the music of his most beloved idol to a much greater audience.

  • thanks, i didnt know that

  • My favorite movement of a beethoven symphony transcribed by my favorite composer. Beautiful.

  • To 17jf17 I want to say that he should listen better to the Howard studio (not live) recording. I foud the Howard's interpretation boring and almost dead. This guy sounds much more alive and interesting!!

This despite the obvious audio quality differencies between a Cd and a compressed video on YouTube!

17jf17, don't talk on rememberings and listen again to Howard. You'll see that I'm right.

  • I agree with zade77, although of all the symphony transcriptions, the second movement of the 7th is definitely the best adaptation for solo piano. Leslie Howard plays it much better than this guy though, check it out.

  • I have the four-hand version of symphonies 6-9. I'm learning this movement with my buddy and we're going to play it at parties. We'll post a video when its "cooked".

  • Beautiful <3

  • this peice is just so sad

  • That can't be easy, carrying on multiple parts with one hand. Good job. 5'd. =D

  • It's pretty nice and it's an accurate transcription, but it's nowhere near as powerful as the orchestral version. Liszt wrote plenty of brilliant stuff. I would never choose to play one of the Liszt/Beethoven symphony transcriptions in concert. They just don't sound "right." What's written for orchestra is meant for orchestra. What's written for piano is meant for piano.
