  • Thanks to APY, which actually means that the LISTED rate (1 or 2% or whatever) is actually DIVIDED BY 365 or 12 or whatever, the REAL rate you get daily or monthly is EXTREMELY LOW. If you don't wanna wait forever and wanna make a huge return on investment, it seems ALMOST POINTLESS to put any money in a savings account unless it's something like 100 or 500 grand. Even 50,000 with a CD of 1.2% only gets you 600 bucks back????

...How do we let banks get away with this?

  • Hello, I like how you educate us with different calculations. I have a question. Can you teach us how to calculate cost shifting and cost cutting? This is my homework in one of my accounting class. Thanks.. Can't wait..

  • If I plant $10k in an account with a 1.50% APY for one year. How much will my balance be at years end???Is it $10,000 x .015 = $150? $150/12 mos = so my 10k is earning like $12.50 per month? 10,000 x .150 = $1,500 seems way too high.

Where do I put the decimal point ???

  • @liznboys Now that's my question as well :0

  • Okay, now do it.
