@sweetroscoeful . No, it sits in storage and try and keep it original as possible. What you see is what it would do as new. It was the days of reduced horse power. Pollution control had brought down the numbers on everything unless the manufacture found something to work around. That's what the Dodge Boy's came up with and it worked! Traction was always a problem until the topper was added.
@wakeeeboarder : Cool...I have a LRT too, though mine is far from stock these days. When I bought it, the owner converted to a magnum engine (92-later w/ closed chamber heads, roller cam, etc) and the truck ran 15.1 @ 90mph as purchased (my guess is the very very very mild stock cam was holding it back). Now I've got a 10.5:1 408 ci, fully ported eddy AL heads, headers, 3 inch duals w/ custom stacks. Even at 30mph putting the throttle down results in wheelspin and getting sideways. Mopar rules!
@porshalover1 In 1978 these trucks were the fastest production vehicle that was manufactured at the time. The smog rules back then really cut the horse power but Dodge found a loop hole on the rules and produced these trucks without cats. A lil extra motor work with "W-2" heads on the prototypes and you had instant tire melt. Production Lil Reds only got the W-2 heads if ordered.
Great truck! that was pretty impressive

Yikes that truck can move for something so huge!

@wkeown The topper adds weight but helps control the wheel spin. The truck is too light at the rear wheels.
